The child should move and develop rather than remain confined to crutches or a bed. Instead of the heavy, psychologically traumatic, and physically exhausting Ilizarov apparatus (which often involves risks of infection and contractures with prolonged use), Dr. Segev offers a modern, much more gentle and aesthetic minimally invasive method — using a telescopic magnetic nail (PRECISE MAGNETIC NAIL). The treatment program is outlined by age (at 8 years — removal of the fixation plate, at 9 years — the first stage of lengthening by 5-6.5 cm, at 13-14 years — the second stage of nail replacement and final limb length equalization). This plan takes into account the formula for predicted bone growth and avoids unnecessary, premature surgical interventions while the skeleton is actively growing. Dr. Segev is a recognized expert in pediatric orthopedics, and his recommendations are based on international experience and the aim to preserve the child's quality of life at every stage of development.
