Shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction in Safe Urology Clinic
About the clinic
Shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction at Safe Urology Clinic in Istanbul, Turkey, offers a non-invasive way to restore sexual health without medication. This treatment uses the Medispec ED1000 device to improve blood flow through low-intensity acoustic waves. The clinic operates within JCI-accredited partner hospitals, maintaining high international safety standards and a 4.9 rating on Google Reviews.
How the ED1000 System Works
Safe Urology Clinic uses Low-Intensity Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (LI-ESWT). The Medispec ED1000 is the specific device used in most scientific studies for this condition. It sends gentle pressure waves into the penile shaft and crus. These waves help the body grow new blood vessels, a process called neovascularization. This physical change helps patients achieve natural erections without relying on pills.
Treatment Protocol and Results
The procedure is painless and does not require any anesthesia or needles. Patients usually undergo 6 to 12 sessions over a period of six weeks. Since the method is non-invasive, there is no downtime. You can return to work or daily activities immediately after each session. Many patients see a clear improvement within two weeks of starting the protocol. The effects often last for more than two years after the final session.
Who Can Benefit from Shockwave Therapy
This therapy is ideal for patients with vasculogenic or diabetic erectile dysfunction. It works for men who already take PDE5 inhibitors and those who do not respond to medication at all. The European Association of Urology (EAU) recognized this method as a first-line therapy in 2013. Key benefits of this approach include:
- No side effects: The treatment does not put a chemical load on the body or heart.
- High success rate: Over 73% of patients see results, even if pills previously failed.
- Outpatient care: No hospital stay is required, though a 5-day trip to Istanbul is recommended.

Safe Urology Clinic: more details about the clinic
Dr. Tuncay Taş – Regenerative Andrology in Turkey
Dr. Taş and his team performed the first PRP (P-Shot) and double PRP applications to the penis in Turkey, and published their clinical results on the efficacy of PRP in erectile dysfunction.
The team also achieved several national firsts in the field of regenerative urology and andrology:
- Cord-derived stem cell injection into the penis;
- Clinical SVF (stromal vascular fraction) therapy performed under sterile operating-room conditions and presented at international congresses;
- Bone-marrow-derived stem cell injection;
- ExoShot and StemBio laboratory exosome injections into the rete testis, launching the first clinical study in Turkey on azoospermia and severe oligospermia;
- Introduction of the Spartan Package, performing flaccid penile lengthening via a scar-free endoscopic technique;
- Autologous fat transfer enriched with stem cells to the penis.
Dr. Taş was among the first three physicians in Turkey (since 2012) to perform FDA-approved ED-1000 shock wave therapy, pioneering its scientific and clinical application for erectile dysfunction and vascular regeneration.
Dr. Taş and his team presented the results of combined PRP (Male P-Shot) and SVF applications to the penis for the first time in Turkey at a scientific congress, sharing the clinical outcomes of these regenerative therapies. He leads one of the first five centers worldwide to publish peer-reviewed clinical results of PRP (P-Shot) therapy and serves as a urology instructor at ISSCA, remaining actively involved in clinical regenerative medicine.
