How Much Does Shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction Cost in Thailand?

Shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction in Thailand costs from $100 / ฿3,400 to $100 / ฿3,400 on average. Final prices depend on the technology used, the number of sessions required, and whether clinicians combine shockwaves with regenerative therapies. In the US, similar procedures cost around $3,500 / ฿119,000 on average. Patients save around 97% compared to US rates. Packages typically include urologist consultations and specialized medical fees.

  • Focused shockwave therapy: Often priced higher than radial sessions due to deeper tissue penetration.
  • Multi-session packages: Pre-paying for 6 to 12 sessions typically reduces costs by 15-30%.
  • Regenerative combinations: Adding P-Shot (PRP) or stem cell therapy increases the total package price.
  • Clinic location: Modern facilities in Bangkok and Phuket serve as the primary medical hubs.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Combining treatments offers the best value for long-term results. For instance, Menness Wellness Clinic provides focused shockwave sessions for approximately $100. However, ID Clinic Bangkok attracts 4,000 patients annually by pairing shockwaves with stem cell protocols. Choosing a board-certified urologist from Mahidol University ensures clinical expertise. Many top-tier clinics now include international patient support and language assistance within their standard rates.

Data verified by Bookimed as of July 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 15 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

Given the high level of professionalism and support they have provided, I am confident that I have chosen the right place
If you are considering stem cell therapy, here is my initial, first-hand experience. The care I received from the surgeon and the medical team was excellent, as was the organisation at the clinic. Everything went smoothly. It is very important to manage expectations at the outset; it is far too early to judge the final results, and I haven’t noticed any change yet in spontaneous erections. However, the most positive aspect so far is that the injection site feels completely normal and there is no discomfort, which makes the recovery period easy. Given the high level of professionalism and support they have provided, I am confident that I have chosen the right place.

Everything at Bumrungrad was above average, except the fact that they told me they d send me quotes on different procedures within 3 days and it took one full month and me pushing them 3 times in order to get these quotes. That is far from what anyone would expect from an hospital of this international standing. On the flip side though, the people from Bookimed were awesome and i was happily surprised by they re professionalism, presence and speed of response to any of my inquiry. I will recommend Bookimed's services to everyone i know that are in need. Keep it up Bookimed and all the best! :-)

FAQ about Shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is low-intensity shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction (LI-ESWT) safe, and are there any medical risks?

Low-intensity shockwave therapy (LI-ESWT) is highly safe and non-invasive with practically non-existent long-term medical risks. Clinical guidelines from the European Association of Urology support its safety profile. Most patients only report mild, temporary side effects like localized soreness, minor bruising, or transient tingling that settles within days.

  • Minimal side effects: Patients typically experience only mild penile pain or temporary superficial bruising.
  • Treatment contraindications: Avoid this therapy if you have blood clotting disorders or active tumors.
  • Clinical status: Major urological organizations confirm the procedure causes no physical harm or damage.
  • Procedure safety: Non-surgical sessions require no anesthesia and lead to zero recovery downtime.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic shockwave therapy is very safe, leading Thai clinics like Eternity Clinic often bundle it with red-light therapy or PRP. Data shows these combinations aim to enhance vascular results without increasing safety risks. Patients should confirm if their 6-12 session plan includes these adjuncts, as they significantly impact total costs.

Patient Consensus: Men report that while the procedure is painless, results require patience across multiple sessions. Most advise requesting a formal baseline assessment to objectively track improvement and ensure expectations remain realistic.

What clinical results can I expect from shockwave therapy for ED, and how long do improvements last?

Clinical results for shockwave therapy show that 60% to 80% of men achieve significant improvement in erectile function. Patients typically maintain these gains for 1 to 2 years. Most individuals notice peak benefits, including firmer erections and improved circulation, within 1 to 3 months after completing their sessions.

  • Success rates: Mild erectile dysfunction cases show 70% to 80% effectiveness in clinical studies.
  • Treatment duration: Standard protocols require 6 to 12 sessions conducted over several weeks.
  • Long-term outlook: Benefits often decline after 2 years, reaching a plateau by year 3.
  • Maintenance needs: Annual booster sessions help sustain vascular improvements beyond the initial 24-month window.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic shockwave therapy starts at $100, data from clinics like Eternity Clinic show a shift toward combination protocols. Packages often bundle Ultra Shock Pulse with P-Shot (PRP) or hormone testing. These combinations aim to address both vascular repair and tissue regeneration, providing a more comprehensive approach than solo shockwave sessions.

Patient Consensus: Men often report firmer morning erections within the first 3 months. However, many suggest combining the treatment with lifestyle changes or pelvic exercises to prevent the effects from fading prematurely.

Am I a good candidate for shockwave therapy, or are there any exclusion criteria?

Ideal candidates for shockwave therapy include men with mild to moderate vasculogenic erectile dysfunction who have not seen success with oral medications. Good candidates typically exhibit an International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) score between 12 and 20, indicating preserved blood flow capacity.

  • Medical history: Chronic vasculogenic erectile dysfunction lasting at least six months is the primary indication.
  • Absolute contraindications: Active malignancy, blood clotting disorders, and current use of anticoagulants like warfarin.
  • Physical exclusions: Patients with penile implants, active skin infections, or severe local curvature (Peyronie's).
  • Device safety: Presence of a pacemaker or other electronic implants generally precludes use near the device.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many clinics offer standard shockwave therapy, Thai centers like Eternity Clinic Phuket frequently combine Ultra Shock Pulse with P-Shot (PRP) or stem cells to enhance vascular regeneration. Data indicates that clinics serving over 1,000 patients annually, such as Menness Wellness Clinic, emphasize urologist-led consultations to confirm vasculogenic origin before treatment begins.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize the importance of getting a vascular duplex ultrasound before booking to ensure the ED is blood-flow related. Many advise disclosing all medications early, as uncontrolled diabetes or heart disease often reduces the treatment's long-term effectiveness.

How is the treatment performed, how many sessions will I need, and what does the session feel like?

Shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction in Thailand is a non-invasive outpatient procedure lasting 15 to 20 minutes. It uses targeted sound waves to improve blood flow and repair tissue. Patients typically require 6 to 12 sessions scheduled 1 to 2 weeks apart for optimal results.

  • Treatment process: Clinicians apply gel and move a handheld probe along the penile shaft.
  • Physical sensation: Most patients feel mild tapping or vibrations similar to a strong phone pulse.
  • Session count: Initial results appear after 4 sessions, with follow-ups every 6 to 12 months.
  • Recovery time: The procedure requires no anesthesia and allows an immediate return to activities.
  • No downtime: Patients experience no pain, though minor numbness or bruising can occur briefly.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic shockwave sessions start at $100, clinics like Eternity Clinic often combine this with P-Shot (PRP) therapy. Data shows these dual-therapy packages are increasingly popular in Bangkok. They include hormone tests and specialist consultations to address vascular issues and hormonal balance simultaneously.

Patient Consensus: Patients describe the treatment as a strange but painless vibration that requires no needles. Many notice a significant improvement in erectile quality after roughly 3 months of consistent sessions.

What is the aftercare and recovery time; is there downtime, and when can I return to work or exercise?

Shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction in Thailand requires zero downtime. Most patients return to desk work immediately after the 20-minute outpatient session. Initial redness or mild tingling typically resolves within hours. You can resume light activities immediately and high-intensity exercise within 48 hours for optimal comfort.

  • Daily activities: Return to office work or driving immediately after your session ends.
  • Physical downtime: Redness or bruising typically clears within 24 hours without medical intervention.
  • Exercise timeline: Resume light cardio same-day; wait 48 hours for heavy weight lifting.
  • Sexual activity: Refrain from sexual activity for 24 to 48 hours after each treatment.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Eternity Clinic and Menness Wellness often pair shockwave with P-Shot or stem cells. While standard shockwave has no downtime, these combinations may require 24 hours of rest. Plan sessions on non-workout days to maximize regional blood flow benefits without post-procedural tenderness.

Patient Consensus: Patients describe the sensation as a strong massage or light rubber band snaps. Most prefer scheduling treatments during long lunch breaks because there is no need for anesthesia or recovery.

How long should I plan to stay in Thailand, and is the procedure repeated over several weeks?

Plan a stay of 7 to 14 days in Thailand to complete an initial shockwave therapy course. While standard protocols span several weeks, clinics in Bangkok or Phuket often condense 6 to 12 sessions into a 2-week window to accommodate international patient schedules.

  • Treatment frequency: Sessions occur 1–3 times weekly or daily in intensive tourist protocols.
  • Typical duration: Most patients finish a primary starter phase within 10 days.
  • Hospital stay: No hospitalization is required as shockwave therapy is a non-surgical outpatient procedure.
  • Recovery time: Minimal downtime allows for immediate return to travel activities after each session.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data from clinics like Menness Wellness and Eternity Clinic shows a clear trend toward hybrid therapies. High-volume providers often bundle shockwave sessions with P-Shot injections or hormone tests to maximize results during a short 7-day stay. This efficiency is why Thailand ranks as a top destination, serving over 3,400 urology requests through our platform.

Patient Consensus: Patients recommend confirming a condensed schedule before arrival to ensure 6–9 sessions fit into a 10-day trip. Most travelers report that mild soreness doesn't interfere with sightseeing in Bangkok or Phuket.

Are there regulatory-quality shockwave devices in Thailand, and how can I verify the clinic’s equipment?

Thailand provides regulatory-quality shockwave devices like Focused Shockwave and Ultra Shock Pulse, strictly monitored by the Thai Food and Drug Administration. Patients can verify equipment legitimacy via the Thai FDA online database using medical device registration numbers to ensure clinical standards and safety.

  • Thai FDA database: Search registration numbers to confirm the device meets official safety standards.
  • Device labeling: Legitimate units must display manufacturer info and batch numbers in English.
  • Clinic licensing: Confirm the facility displays a valid Department of Health Service Support license.
  • Doctor credentials: Verify board certifications via the Medical Council of Thailand online practitioner database.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic radial shockwave is common, high-performing facilities like Menness Wellness Clinic and Eternity Clinic utilize Focused Shockwave and Ultra Shock Pulse technologies. These advanced units are often bundled with PRP or stem cell therapy to improve results. Clinics serving over 1,000 international patients annually tend to maintain the most current FDA-registered equipment.

Patient Consensus: Patients value clinics that combine technology with professional nurse support and clear medical consultations. Many emphasize that verifying the urologist’s board certification provides extra peace of mind before treatment.

What should I look for when choosing a clinic in Thailand for shockwave therapy (LI-ESWT) for erectile dysfunction?

Select a clinic in Thailand with a Thailand Board-Certified Urologist from institutions like Mahidol University. The facility should use focused medical-grade devices. It should also provide a written treatment plan including vascular assessments and hormone testing. Look for clear follow-up protocols for international patients.

  • Specialist credentials: Seek surgeons like Dr Nuttaphon Luchaichana, a Thailand Board-Certified Urologist.
  • Clinical focus: Choose dedicated men's health centres like Eternity Clinic or He Clinic.
  • Device verification: Confirm the use of focused LI-ESWT equipment rather than general wellness devices.
  • Detailed diagnostics: Opt for packages including hormone tests and endocrinologist consultations. Eternity Clinic offers these.
  • Patient volume: Look for high-capacity facilities like ID Clinic Bangkok. They serve 4,000+ patients annually.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bookimed data shows a clear divide between basic shockwave sessions and regenerative packages. While standard sessions start from $100, clinics like Eternity Clinic Phuket combine shockwave with P-Shot (PRP). This combination is often more efficient for patients travelling from Australia. It reduces the need for multiple return trips.

Patient Consensus: Men visiting Thailand recommend asking for the specific device name. They also suggest securing a written schedule of sessions. Many recommend confirming doctor qualifications personally rather than relying on clinic branding. This helps to ensure expert vascular assessments.

Are there any side effects or risks associated with shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction in Thailand?

Shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction in Thailand is a safe, non-invasive procedure with minimal risks. Most patients experience no downtime. Potential side effects include mild bruising or temporary discomfort. Reputable Bangkok clinics use board-certified urologists and focused shockwave technology for precise, safe treatment sessions.

  • Minimal side effects: Rare issues include minor bruising or temporary sensitivity in treated areas.
  • Nerve sensitivity: Targeted stimulation near the pelvic base may cause brief nerve sensations.
  • Clinical suitability: Treatment is safest for vascular issues rather than nerve-related erectile dysfunction.
  • Regenerative safety: Combining shockwave with PRP or stem cells requires sterile, medical-grade environments.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand leads in combining shockwave with regenerative therapies like P-Shot or stem cells. While standalone shockwave is outpatient, these protocols at clinics like Vega Clinic or EDNA Wellness often include hotel stays. They also provide extensive follow-up care to monitor healing.

Patient Consensus: Men describe the process as a low-invasive trial. Sensations vary from nothing to strong tingling. They recommend confirming if the cause is vascular or nerve-related to help the therapy work.

How effective is shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction when performed in Thailand?

Shockwave therapy in Thailand is highly effective for men with mild-to-moderate vascular erectile dysfunction. Specialists use acoustic waves to trigger angiogenesis. This grows new blood vessels and restores natural blood flow. Facilities in Bangkok and Phuket often combine this with P-Shot or stem cell protocols.

  • Focused methods: Clinics offer focused shockwave therapy and Ultra Shock Pulse for deeper tissue penetration.
  • Regenerative combinations: Surgeons like Dr Suebpong Angchoun combine shockwave with PRP to speed up tissue repair.
  • Expert specialists: Doctors at Menness Wellness Clinic are Thailand board-certified urologists with extensive sexual medicine training.
  • Outpatient convenience: Most procedures are non-surgical and take under 30 minutes with no hospital stay.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics frequently bundle shockwave therapy with high-dose mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) treatments. While standalone shockwave therapy in Thailand costs between $100 and $100, adding 20 million to 60 million MSCs is common. This is a popular strategy for patients seeking intensive results beyond standard acoustic therapy.

Patient Consensus: Many patients in Thailand find the best results when pairing shockwave with lifestyle changes or Platelet-Rich Plasma. They suggest confirming the cause of erectile dysfunction with a urologist first. This helps to make sure acoustic waves are the right approach.

What is involved in the process of shockwave therapy (LI-ESWT) for erectile dysfunction?

Shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction in Thailand involves a series of 15–20 minute non-invasive sessions. In the theatre, urologists use a handheld device to deliver low-frequency sound waves directly to penile tissue. This stimulates new blood vessel growth and improves circulation without surgery or anaesthesia.

  • Specialist consultation: Board-certified urologists determine suitability focusing on vascular causes of erectile dysfunction.
  • Pain-free procedure: Most men feel only slight tingling while lying comfortably during treatment.
  • Regenerative combinations: Thai clinics often combine shockwaves with Platelet-Rich Plasma or stem cell therapy.
  • Treatment schedule: Standard protocols typically require multiple sessions over 3–5 weeks for best results.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Basic shockwave sessions in Bangkok cost from $100. Data shows Australian patients often choose comprehensive packages. For approximately A$2,500–A$2,800, clinics like Eternity include hormone tests and endocrinologist input. These packages often add Platelet-Rich Plasma to address underlying causes.

Patient Consensus: Men in Thailand appreciate that sessions are quick and outpatient with no downtime. They recommend confirming if the clinic targets vascular issues or pelvic-floor dysfunction before starting.

Is shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction painful?

Shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction in Thailand is generally painless and non-invasive. Most patients describe a light tapping or tingling sensation rather than actual pain. Clinics in Bangkok and Phuket often perform this as an outpatient procedure without needing anaesthesia.

  • Adjustable intensity: Specialists can modify energy levels during the session to suit comfort.
  • Device types: Focused shockwave systems typically cause less discomfort than older radial devices.
  • Outpatient treatment: Sessions take 15–20 minutes with no hospital stay required.
  • Minimal downtime: Some patients report mild temporary soreness or redness after treatment.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand leads in combining shockwave therapy with regenerative medicine. Clinics like Eternity Clinic Phuket By Dr.Beer often bundle shockwave with P-Shot (Platelet-Rich Plasma). While shockwave alone costs from $100, these combination packages provide a more comprehensive approach for persistent cases.

Patient Consensus: Most men describe the treatment as uncomfortable or tender rather than sharply painful. Sensations often include a stinging feeling during the session. However, many patients adjust to this over multiple visits in Thailand.

How long will I need to stay in Thailand to complete a course of shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction?

Patients should plan to stay in Thailand for 2 to 4 weeks. This allows time to complete a standard shockwave therapy course. Protocols typically involve 6 to 12 sessions performed 1–2 times per week. Most clinics in Bangkok and Phuket offer outpatient treatment, so patients remain mobile.

  • Treatment sessions: Sessions usually take 20–30 minutes with no downtime or anaesthesia required.
  • Combined protocols: Adding PRP or stem cells may require a 7–14 day stay for monitoring.
  • Initial assessment: Allow 1–2 days for urologist consultations, hormone tests, and blood work.
  • Hospital stay: Single-procedure shockwave is outpatient. Intensive stem cell packages include 4-day hospital stays.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic shockwave sessions cost from $100, premium clinics focus on intensive regenerative protocols. Vega Clinic or EDNA Wellness are examples. These often combine 20–60 million mesenchymal stem cells with shockwave. These treatments usually include airport transfers and local logistics. This makes them suitable for short, high-impact trips from Australia.

Patient Consensus: Men visiting Thailand recommend confirming the full session schedule in writing before booking flights. Most find the outpatient treatment perfect for a holiday. They suggest building in extra days for initial urologist assessments.
