Verified review.
The person who was given the appointment was given the wrong one and I traveled 5 hours because of this mistake and paid 157 euros and I was not examined medically because the appointment was given the wrong one and they told me that I should have 5 more days to request a refund I actually made the request and I haven't received the money back yet. It was a very bad experience and I hope it doesn't happen again.
Unfortunately, I did not like anything. They were negligent in everything. They did not have time to inquire. They talked to you with an upset face
My appointment was not scheduled correctly because of the person I made the appointment with.

FAQ about Botox for men in Italy

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is Botox common for men in Italy?

Botox is increasingly common for men in Italy, particularly in urban hubs like Milan and Rome. This growing Brotox trend focuses on subtle facial rejuvenation. Italian men typically seek treatments for forehead lines and crow's feet while maintaining a masculine, natural appearance through conservative microdosing techniques.

  • Target areas: Men primarily treat deep forehead furrows, frown lines, and hyperhidrosis.
  • Aesthetic approach: Surgeons utilize Baby Botox to preserve facial movement and avoid feminization.
  • Specialized expertise: Top Rome doctors like Domenico Riitano have performed over 10,000 operations.
  • Price range: Typical treatments in Italy cost between $500 and $800.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Italian aesthetic medicine is shifting toward maintenance-focused care for men. Practitioners at major centers like Santa Caterina da Siena emphasize prevention. The most experienced surgeons now combine Botox with diagnostic imaging and laboratory analysis to tailor dosages for thicker male skin.

Patient Consensus: Men in Italy highly value discretion and subtle results. Most patients view Botox as a preventive measure to stay competitive in professional environments without looking like they had work done.

How does male Botox differ from female Botox?

Male Botox requires higher dosages and specific injection techniques because men have denser facial muscles and 25% thicker skin. While women often seek a lifted brow arch, male treatments focus on maintaining a flat, horizontal brow line and subtle softening of deep expression lines.

  • Muscle mass: Men generally require 1.5 to 2 times more units than female patients.
  • Anatomical strategy: Injectors maintain a lower, straight brow line to preserve a masculine facial structure.
  • Longevity factors: Higher metabolic rates in men can cause results to fade within 3 months.
  • Skin characteristics: Thicker skin often requires deeper injection depths to reach the underlying muscle tissue.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Italian practitioners like Dr. Domenico Riitano in Rome focus on conservative dosing to preserve character lines. Data shows that experienced surgeons with 10,000+ operations prioritize natural results over complete smoothing. This prevents the frozen look which is a top concern for male patients.

Patient Consensus: Most men prioritize subtle results that look natural rather than perfect. Many suggest requesting a 10-day adjustment appointment to fine-tune the dosage for stronger facial muscles.

What are the most common treatment areas for men?

Men most commonly target the upper face, specifically forehead lines, frown lines (glabellar), and crow’s feet, to achieve a refreshed, youthful appearance. In Italy, these procedures focus on maintaining expressive, masculine features while smoothing deep wrinkles and addressing functional concerns like masseter muscle tension.

  • Forehead smoothing: Softens horizontal lines while preserving natural eyebrow height and movement.
  • Glabellar lines: Targets the 11s between eyebrows to eliminate a tired or angry look.
  • Crow’s feet: Refines fine lines around eyes, often paired with forehead injections for balance.
  • Masseter injections: Slims the jawline and relieves teeth grinding for better facial contouring.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While facial aesthetics dominate, Italian specialists like Dr. Domenico Riitano highlight that men increasingly seek reconstructive expertise alongside cosmetic improvements. With over 10,000 procedures performed, the trend in Rome suggests prioritizing surgeons who specialize in both aesthetic and functional plastic surgery for more natural outcomes.

Patient Consensus: Forehead treatments are the top choice for first-timers because they provide visible smoothing without looking overdone. Many prefer conservative dosing to avoid a frozen look and maintain their masculine expressions.

How long do the results last?

Botox for men in Italy typically lasts 3 to 4 months. Results depend on individual muscle activity and the treated area. High muscle density in men often causes faster metabolism of the neurotoxin. Regular treatments can help maintain smoother facial contours over time.

  • Longevity range: Most male patients see effects fade by 12 weeks.
  • Muscle factor: Higher muscle mass typically correlates with faster Botox metabolism.
  • Treatment frequency: Consistent sessions every 3 to 4 months optimize long-term results.
  • Dosage impact: Strategic dosing ensures natural movement while extending the treatment efficacy.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Italian specialists like Dr. Domenico Riitano at Ospedale San Carlo di Nancy focus on preservation. Results for men vary based on the injection technique used. Brazilian-trained surgeons in Rome often emphasize maintaining natural facial expressions. This approach prevents the frozen look often seen with higher dosages. Professional skill in Italy significantly impacts how long the smoothing effect remains visible.

Patient Consensus: Men often notice results softening around 10 weeks due to dense facial muscles. They recommend scheduling follow-ups at 12 weeks to keep a consistent appearance.

Where can I find specialized clinics in Italy?

Find specialized clinics in Italy by targeting Institutes for Research, Hospitalization, and Health Care (IRCCS) or private centers of excellence. Major hubs include Milan for oncology at IEO and Rome for multidisciplinary care at Policlinico Agostino Gemelli IRCCS. Specialized plastic surgery is concentrated in Milan and Rome.

  • Institute status: IRCCS centers provide the highest specialization recognized by the Ministry of Health.
  • Expert surgical care: Dr. Domenico Riitano in Rome has performed over 10,000 surgical operations.
  • Milan oncology hub: Humanitas Research Hospital and IEO specialize in complex cardiovascular and oncological treatments.
  • Turin specialized care: Santa Caterina da Siena provides hotel-quality accommodations with advanced surgical specialties.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While Milan leads in medical technology, Rome offers high-volume surgeons like Dr. Riitano. His 10,000-procedure milestone at Ospedale San Carlo di Nancy indicates superior clinical proficiency. This volume is critical for consistent results in specialized aesthetic and reconstructive treatments.

Patient Consensus: Focus on clinics in Milan or Rome that emphasize natural results for men. Patients recommend starting with conservative dosing to ensure a subtle, professional appearance.
