Dr. Sarunyoo Suttipongkeat is an interventional cardiologist at PMG Hospital in Bangkok. He earned his medical degree with Second Class Honors from Mahidol University. Dr. Suttipongkeat has performed over 37,900 procedures during his career. He specializes in treating coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, and chronic heart failure.
Dr. Shen Yuqin, MD, PhD, is Professor and Chief Physician at Shanghai Tongji Hospital. Dr. Shen directs the Rehabilitation Medicine Center and the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department. A doctoral supervisor and National Advanced Worker, Dr. Shen is a pioneer in cardiac rehabilitation for heart failure.
Dr. Shen was the first in China to implement cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET)-guided rehabilitation for heart failure. Dr. Shen also introduced the use of the anaerobic threshold to prescribe exercise intensity. The team created a nationwide hospital–community–home closed-loop model. In 2020, they opened Shanghai’s only inpatient cardiac rehabilitation ward in a tertiary hospital.
Dr. Shen is the principal investigator of two NSFC General Projects. Honors include the CRMA Science and Technology Award, First Prize (2019), and the Shanghai Rehabilitation Medicine Science and Technology Progress Awards, First Prize (2018, 2024). Dr. Shen has published over 50 papers as first or corresponding author. Dr. Shen served as chief editor of one monograph and associate editor of two. The portfolio includes 22 patents (15 authorized, including three invention patents) and five software copyrights. Nine technology transfers have been completed.
Dr. Shen is a Fellow of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (FAACVPR) and a CDQI certified expert. Dr. Shen serves as an associate editor and editorial board member. Dr. Shen led the drafting of eight consensuses, guidelines, and standards, and organized 20 national courses. The center has served more than 10,000 patients. The care model has been extended across Shanghai and introduced in Yunnan.
Dr. Nermina Alagic is an attending cardiologist at Anadolu Medical Center in Istanbul. She specializes in cardiac imaging at this Johns Hopkins Medicine affiliate. Dr. Alagic has extensive training in 2D and 3D transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography. She completed clinical research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Echo Lab.
Dr. Cenk Indelen is a cardiovascular surgeon at Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital. He specializes in patient blood management and cardiothoracic optimization for heart surgery. He holds an associate professorship and is certified in robotic console surgery from Belgium.
