What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it
What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it. My biggest fear was not understanding the treatment plan or feeling rushed, but that wasn’t the case at all. The dentist was very patient and took the time to explain each step to me in detail. It was reassuring. The overall organisation ran smoothly and the whole clinic team were professional and happy to answer my questions. Coordination via Bookimed simplified the whole process, which helped reduce the stress of having a medical appointment abroad. I left with clear information and a good overall impression.

I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism
Hello everyone, like many other people before an operation, I wasn't feeling very well. The staff at the clinic immediately reassured and accompanied me. Believe me or not, I didn't feel a thing. The dental surgeon fitted the 2 implants in 40 minutes, and I had no infections whatsoever. My Bookimed advisor (Péguy) was with me from the start and is still with me today. I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism. Sylvain B.

The wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care
It is a clean hospital and the wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care. The dentist and dental personnel can speak fluent English which is important for most people like I. For wisdom teeth extraction the cost was 20000 baht for 4 teeth( including medication and nurse charge), but it all depends if the teeth has impacted. I would highly recommend the clinic.

FAQ about Tilted implant in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Are tilted implants for dental restoration in Thailand safe?

Tilted implants for dental restoration are safe in Thailand when specialists use 3D surgical planning. This technique is essential for All-on-4 and All-on-6 procedures. It uses existing bone to avoid invasive grafting. Accredited clinics in Bangkok and Chiang Mai use international brands like Straumann and Neodent for long-term stability.

  • Specialist expertise: Surgeons like Dr Pawak Tungthangthum hold qualifications from major US and Thai universities.
  • Precise diagnostics: Top clinics use CBCT scans and 3D imaging to plan implant angles.
  • Digital technology: Facilities like SOL Dental Clinic partner with Dentsply Sirona for digital CAD/CAM restorations.
  • International standards: Leading centres serve 1,200+ patients annually and follow Thai Dental Association protocols.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics offer tilted implants to avoid bone grafts. The most reliable outcomes come from clinics providing full lot numbers and brand documentation. This helps Australian dentists service the implants locally if needed. Parts for brands like Straumann or Osstem are available globally.

Patient Consensus: Patients find that tilted implants in Thailand provide fast results without waiting for bone grafts. They recommend keeping all surgical notes and radiographs. This allows local Australian dentists to provide support after patients return home.

What are tilted implants used for in Thailand dental procedures?

Tilted implants are primarily used in Thailand for full-arch tooth restorations like All-on-4 and All-on-6. Surgeons angle these implants to bypass areas with low bone density. This technique provides a stable base for a fixed bridge without requiring invasive bone grafts or sinus lifts.

  • Full-arch restoration: Provides a permanent set of teeth using only 4–6 angled implants.
  • Bone preservation: Maximises contact with existing bone and avoids the need for grafting.
  • Same-day teeth: High stability allows some patients to receive temporary bridges immediately after surgery.
  • Quality materials: Clinics like SmileBox Dental Clinic use original Straumann materials for better integration.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics often integrate 3D scanning and CAD/CAM technology from partners like Dentsply Sirona to map implant angles precisely. Specialists like Dr Akarapat Rattananon at SOL Dental Clinic complete Neodent certification specifically for All-on-4 and All-on-6 techniques for surgical accuracy.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand often express satisfaction with how these procedures bypass the long healing times associated with bone grafts. They appreciate the immediate functionality and spa-like clinic environments in Bangkok that help reduce dental anxiety.

Am I a suitable candidate for tilted implants in Thailand?

Suitability for tilted implants in Thailand depends on having enough jawbone density to anchor the posts. It allows for anchoring without needing a bone graft. This technique is ideal for patients seeking full-arch restoration via All-on-4 or All-on-6. These protocols are offered at JCI-accredited or specialist dental centres.

  • Bone availability: Sufficient bone height in the anterior jaw supports tilted posterior implants effectively.
  • Grafting alternative: Tilted implants often bypass the need for sinus lifts or complex bone grafting.
  • Digital diagnostics: Experts like Dr Akarapat Rattananon use 3D CBCT scans to plan precise implant angles.
  • Health status: Candidates must be free from active gum disease or uncontrolled jawbone infections.

Bookimed Expert Insight: These implants help avoid bone grafts. However, suitability often hinges on the specific implant brand. SOL Dental Clinic and SmileBox use Straumann and Neodent systems. These brands offer specialised tilted components. Choosing these high-tier materials helps the prosthesis fit perfectly even at steep angles.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand found that providing digital CT scans early allowed for accurate virtual pre-assessments. They appreciated how tilted implants shortened their overall treatment time. They also liked how it simplified the recovery process.

What is the primary difference between tilted and straight implants for Thai dental surgery?

The primary difference is the placement angle. Tilted implants are angled to use existing jawbone. This often removes the need for bone grafts. Straight implants are placed vertically. Thai specialists use tilted implants in All-on-4 procedures. This avoids sensitive areas like the maxillary sinus or mental nerve.

  • Bone grafting: Tilted implants often bypass sinus lifts by anchoring in denser angled bone.
  • Stability: Angled placement increases the spread of implants to support a full bridge.
  • Anatomical navigation: Surgeons tilt implants to safely avoid nerves and sinus cavities.
  • Immediate loading: This technique often allows for teeth to be fitted on the same day.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like SOL Dental or SmileBox use digital CAD/CAM workflows to map these angles precisely. Dr Akarapat Rattananon has performed 400+ successful implants. He often uses tilted techniques for full-arch restorations for patients with significant bone loss.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand find that tilted implants for full-arch treatments simplify the surgical process. They frequently mention feeling relieved to avoid the extra recovery time required for bone grafting.

Why is the tilted implant technique commonly offered in Thailand?

Thai dental clinics commonly offer the tilted implant technique to bypass invasive bone grafting or sinus lifts when jawbone volume is low. This approach provides immediate stability for full-arch restorations like All-on-4. International patients often receive fixed teeth within one week, completing treatment in a single holiday.

  • Bone preservation: Tilted implants use existing front jawbone, eliminating the need for complex bone augmentation.
  • Fast-tracked results: Patients can often receive functional fixed bridges within a single trip to Thailand.
  • Quality materials: Centres like SmileBox Dental Clinic use internationally recognised brands such as Straumann and Neodent.
  • Specialised diagnostics: Specialists at SOL Dental Clinic use 3D scanning and CAD/CAM for precise placement.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many Australian clinics charge $4,400 for these procedures, Thai specialists like Dr Akarapat Rattananon often hold specific All-on-4 certifications. This high-volume expertise allows clinics to offer tilted implants from $300 to $500 without compromising clinical success rates.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand appreciate avoiding the discomfort of bone grafts while achieving faster results. They recommend asking for a detailed bone volume explanation to ensure the tilted approach is chosen for clinical reasons rather than just for convenience.

Will I experience pain during tilted implant surgery in Thailand?

Patients should not experience sharp pain during tilted implant surgery in Thailand. Specialists use local anaesthesia to numb the area completely. Bone lacks nerve endings, even while drilling occurs. Most patients report feeling pressure and vibration rather than pain during the procedure.

  • Anaesthesia options: Clinics provide local anaesthesia or IV sedation for a memory-free experience.
  • Specialised techniques: Surgeons use digital 3D scanning and CAD/CAM for precise, atraumatic placement.
  • Anxiety reduction: Facilities like SOL Dental Clinic use spa-like designs to help lower patient stress.
  • Post-op management: Swelling is common but managed with prescribed pain relief for the first 72 hours.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like SmileBox use original Straumann materials which integrate better with bone than generic implants. This high-quality hardware, combined with surgeons like Dr Akarapat Rattananon who has a 100% satisfaction rate, significantly reduces the likelihood of post-surgical complications or chronic discomfort.

Patient Consensus: Expect pressure and vibration during the surgery rather than sharp pain once the area is numbed. Needle injections and pre-op anxiety are the most challenging parts of the Thailand experience.
