Atilla Celik, General surgeon

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atilla Çelik is a distinguished Associate Professor of General Surgery with over 35 years of clinical and academic experience. Recognized internationally for his expertise in surgical oncology, advanced laparoscopic procedures, and oncoplastic breast surgery, Dr. Çelik delivers high-precision surgical care using cutting-edge, minimally invasive techniques. 

Dr. Çelik earned his medical degree from the renowned Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1988 and completed his general surgery residency at Taksim Training and Research Hospital. To further advance his specialized surgical skills, he completed a specialized fellowship in Gastric Cancer Surgery at the prestigious National Cancer Center in Tokyo, Japan (2005), as well as advanced international training in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery. He earned the title of Associate Professor of Surgery in 2011 and has served as Clinical Training Officer at Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital, training generations of surgeons.

His clinical scope focuses on oncoplastic breast surgery, immediate prepectoral breast reconstruction following mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, laparoscopic gastric and colorectal cancer resections, advanced laparoscopic hernia repairs, and bariatric/metabolic procedures.

A highly published clinical researcher, Dr. Çelik is the recipient of the international Karl Storz EAES Award for Best Oral Presentation from the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery in Stockholm. He has also served as translator/co-editor for major international surgical textbooks on gastric cancer. He holds active memberships in premier global and national organizations, including the International Gastric Cancer Association (IGCA) and the Turkish Surgical Society.
