Associate Professor Halil Hüseyin Cagatay, MD, is an ophthalmologist. He trained at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (1999–2005) and at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital (2005–2009). He practices in İzmir and Istanbul. His focus includes cataract surgery, including complex cases, retinal surgery, and oculoplastic surgery. He has particular interest in pediatric eye health, strabismus, ptosis, keratoconus and other corneal disease, glaucoma, retinal disease, and refractive surgery. Associate Professor Halil Hüseyin Cagatay, MD, was born in Tarsus district of Mersin. He completed primary, secondary, and high school education in Mersin. He completed medical education in Istanbul Faculty of Medicine between 1999-2005. He completed specialization education at Sisli Etfal Training and Research Hospital between 2005-2009.
Dr. Cagatay continues his active working life by following current developments. He continues to work on eye health in infants and children, strabismus, eye aesthetics, and eyelid diseases in adults and children particularly. Apart from these studies, he performs cataract and laser treatments routinely.
Dr. Cagatay has worked in the fields of eye diseases, especially Cataract, Retina, and Oculoplastic Surgery. His specialization dissertation topic focused on “Frontalis suspension surgery in ptosis cases”.
Dr. Cagatay has passed the European Board of Ophthalmology Diploma Examination. In 2016, he received the title “Fellowship European Board Ophthalmologist” in Paris, in the exam attended by ophthalmologists trained in Europe.
