Qualifications
Marek Król is the head of the 1st Department of Cardiology and Angiology at American Heart of Poland. He was the first Polish surgeon to clear right coronary plaque using a thin guidewire. In 2012, he led the first team to perform a bioabsorbable stent operation in Poland.
Specialization and Techniques
Dr. Król performs coronary and peripheral angioplasty for the kidneys, carotid artery, and upper and lower extremities. He restores blood flow in small heart vessels affected by ischemic disease. The doctor uses a retrograde technique with thin guidewires to access small blood vessels. This surgical method allows for heart surgery while minimizing the risk of a second heart attack.
In 2012, Dr. Król introduced bioabsorbable stents to Polish clinical practice. These biostents dissolve completely within two years of implantation. This technology allows normal blood flow without requiring long-term anticoagulant medication. He also treats unstable angina and acute myocardial infarction.
