Clinical focus

  • Personalised management of cardiovascular risk factors — assessment and treatment built around the individual patient's risk profile
  • Peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAD) — narrowing of the arteries supplying the legs
  • Arterial hypertension — high blood pressure

What an angiologist does Angiology is the medical specialty concerned with arteries, veins and lymphatic vessels. Where a cardiologist focuses on the heart and a vascular surgeon operates, an angiologist diagnoses and medically manages vascular disease — identifying narrowed arteries, assessing how far disease has progressed, controlling blood pressure and the other factors that drive it, and deciding when a patient does or does not need an intervention. For someone with leg pain on walking, an unexplained circulation problem, or blood pressure that has proved hard to control, this is the specialist who works out what is happening and what to do about it.

Languages Dr. Wadowski treats patients in German, English and Polish, and lectures at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.
