Saulius Vikšraitis

Dr. Saulius Vikšraitis is a pioneer of plastic and reconstructive microsurgery in Kaunas. He has performed over 8,000 plastic and corrective surgeries throughout his career. Dr. Vikšraitis introduced several new operational methods and specializes in endoscopic aesthetic reconstruction.

Specialization and Surgical Techniques

Dr. Vikšraitis performs endoscopic plastic surgery. This method uses a thin tube with a camera to correct deep tissues through small access points. The technique minimizes surface disruption and emphasizes natural proportions. Dr. Vikšraitis applies these methods across facial, breast, and body contouring procedures.

Facial and Breast Surgery

• Full facelift and specialized facelift-type tightening procedures.
• Rhinoplasty – a surgery that reshapes the nose to address both functional breathing concerns and aesthetic goals.

Work Experience

• 1984–2014 – Plastic and reconstructive microsurgeon at Kaunas Medical University Hospital.
• 1992 – Founded the Kaunas Plastic Surgery Centre.
• 2006 – Opened a specialized clinic on Č. Sasnauskas Street in Žaliakalnis.
• 2016 – Opened the Saulius Vikšraitis Plastic Surgery Center in Kaunas.

Education and Advanced Training

Dr. Vikšraitis graduated from the Kaunas Medical Institute in 1984. He is a certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who has completed international fellowships. During these fellowships, he gained experience in several surgical subspecialties.

He completed training in:

• Maxillofacial surgery training with Prof. H. Sailer at the University of Zurich in 1992.
• Plastic surgery training with Dr. U. Kesselring and Prof. R. Meyer in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1994.
• Reconstructive surgery course with Dr. Marchac in Paris, France in 1997.
• Plastic surgery training at Urban Clinics in Berlin, Germany in 1998.
• Restoration and plastic surgery training at the University of Washington, USA in 2004.
• Endoscopic surgery training with Prof. Oscar M. Ramirez at the International Endoscopic Plastic Surgery Centre, USA in 2004.
• Rhinoplasty training with Prof. G. Aiach in Paris, France in 2006.

Research and Publications

Dr. Vikšraitis has authored more than 30 scientific papers and presentations. He is also a co-author of the medical monograph Advanced Methods in Microsurgery. His academic work focuses on refining microsurgical techniques and improving patient outcomes in reconstructive procedures.
