If you're considering a medical check-up abroad, here’s my honest take. I traveled from the U.S. to Istanbul for a comprehensive medical examination at Hisar Hospital, arranged through Bookimed. The physicians and staff were exceptional. I found them professional and genuinely caring. On the other hand, the overall efficiency could be improved, particularly with appointment scheduling and the wait times between departments; better coordination would make the experience smoother. Despite the delays, the quality of care and affordability made it worthwhile, and I received valuable insight into my health at a fraction of the U.S. cost.
I recently traveled from the U.S. to Istanbul for a comprehensive medical examination at Hisar Hospital, arranged through Bookimed. The physicians and medical staff were exceptional—professional, thorough, attentive, and genuinely caring. Although there were some scheduling delays and opportunities to improve efficiency, the quality of care and affordability made the experience worthwhile. The care I received on-site was excellent
The most important thing for future patients to know is to be prepared for new realities. I came ready for a laser enucleation operation for my medium-sized prostate, but I ended up undergoing a steam ablation procedure instead after my consultation. My surgeon was very good. He clearly explained the urination improvement timeline, which was quite reassuring as I begin my recovery. Although there has been little contact from the clinic since I left, the care I received on-site was excellent. My main advice is to go in with an open mind, as your final treatment plan might be different from what you initially expected.
