I am very pleased with my choice of this clinic. From the very beginning the communication with the clinic staff was fast and of high quality. I chose from 3 clinics. It was in this clinic that I got the best price and quality service before and after the procedure. I had a second rhinoplasty. The doctor did just a jewellery work with my nose. Very carefully, without much interference, he corrected the flaws from the first surgery I had a couple of years ago in Turkey. I am very happy with the result. My nose is now straight and neat. I was also very pleased with the service at the clinic after the operation. I had all the necessary procedures to reduce the swelling immediately after the operation and then during the week I still came a couple of times for procedures, so the recovery took literally a week. Special thanks to the assistant Joan. She was always in touch and very supportive throughout my stay in Korea. I would highly recommend this clinic for its quality service and professionalism.

I would like to share my experience with BookiMed and their recommmendation, VG (Very Good) Plastic Surgery. Doctor: Dr. Im Young Min Procedures: Deep plane facelift, mid-face lift with fat graft, sub-brow lift, lower blepharoplasty Referral: I had been wanting to get this surgery for quite a long time, but didn't know which clinic would be best, so I applied to Bookimed who gave me several quotes/recommendations based on my needs. I liked the procedures suggested by VG Plastic Surgery the best and I saw that they had good reviews online, so I set up a consultation. Consultation: At the consultation, several photos were taken in order to analyze the surgery and what would work best for me. The doctor suggested a sub-brow lift for my sagging eyelid skin, a deep plane facelift and a midface lift to address the loss of volume and sagging along with a fat graft to restore the volume to my cheeks, and a lower blepharoplasty to address the hollowness under my eyes along with the malar edema. I worked with Smile, one of the consultants who was very helpful and went over everything with me including all of the options and prices. She was very professional but warm, which is one reason that I decided to go with VG over other clinics. Pre-Surgery Check-up: A few days before my surgery, I went in for a checkup where they did a chest x-ray and a blood test to make sure my body was healthy enough for the surgery. I met with Dr. Im, my surgeon, to go over the plan for the surgery and make sure everything was in place. I met another consultant, Lily, who interpreted everything for me and made sure that everything was clear and comfortable for me. Surgery: The day of surgery, I did an interview about the procedure and how I was feeling prior to the surgery as well as taking several "before" photos to use as comparison. I had also fasted for 8 hours (food and water). The surgery was very smooth, but I believe it lasted a long time- between 6-8 hours as there were many procedures being done. I had to have a breathing tube, which was quite uncomfortable for the first 12 hours after surgery, but I was glad that the doctors took every precaution. They also put in drains in my neck and inside my mouth to keep blood and fluid from pooling under my skin as well as a catheter. Post-Surgery: After surgery, I was taken to a private room for recovery. I stayed in the room for about 24 hours and the nurses took very good care of me, coming in to replace the ice packs for my face, check on my catheter and incisions and just making sure I was comfortable. I was eventually able to have water, then some soy milk, and finally some porridge when I was ready. Lily and Smile checked on me several times to be sure everything was alright and to translate for me. The next day before leaving the hospital, the bandages were removed and Dr. Im came in and checked on me to make sure that everything had gone well. Lily, Smile and another consultant, Jenny, were there to interpret and to make sure I was alright. They removed the catheter and cleaned the incisions, replacing them with clean bandages. I also did an oxygen treatment in a hyperbaric chamber, which was very relaxing. I took a taxi home with Smile's support. Scary Moment: One thing that happened that was a bit scary for me was that I wasn't prepared for how much my eyes would swell up after the surgery. I felt like my bandages were bursting (and the nurse helped me to relieve some of the pressure) and when I looked at myself the day after the surgery, I wasn't prepared for what I saw. The veins in my eyes burst, making them completely red and my eyes swelled up so much I could barely see. This was scary for me as I had not seen this in any of the videos I had watched prior when doing my research. The staff assured me it was normal and that it would go back down, but I guess I'd say that for the first 2-3 days after the surgery, I was pretty worried that something was wrong. The ointment I was applying to keep the incisions clean also coated my eyes from time to time blurring my vision, which was scary, but the consultant assured me this was only because of the medication. I went back to the clinic after 3 days for a check-up and to have my incisions cleaned and the blood drains emptied. Each time I visited the clinic, I was given an oxygen treatment and several photos were taken for documentation. After the swelling in my eyes went down, my recovery progressed quickly. I had more visits (at 7 days, 10 days, 14 days and then 3 weeks) to remove stitches and drains and to monitor my progress. At 7 days, I was given a complimentary hair wash as well, which was very relaxing and such a relief. I also wore a head brace/wrap to keep my face from moving around too much for about a month. I did take it off to sleep at times because it felt tight, but I tried to keep it on during the day for the most part. Conclusion: I am now 5 months post-op, and I am very happy with my results. I feel that my concerns were addressed, and that I look younger and fresher, but still like myself, which was always the goal of this surgery for me. I feel a renewed vigor and like I look like the person I have always been, if that makes sense. I still have some puffiness under my eyes at times, especially when I have built up fluid retention or am very tired, and I am still working to find the cause/solution for this. I believe it is related to lymphatic drainage, so I understand that the surgery could not fully correct this issue, although I do feel like it is better than before. Most of all, I just wanted to say that I recommend VG because of the wonderful consideration, kindness, and support that I received there. From the way that the consultants went out of their way to help and support me, not just through translation, but by encouraging me and helping me, to the care the nurses gave me, to the skill that Dr. Im and his staff in the operating room showed, I am very happy. The scars from my incisions are unnoticeable and will most likely become completely invisible with time, and I feel that my surgery goals were reached. A big thanks to VG Surgery and their staff. I would also like to thank Bookimed for helping me to find this clinic and giving me the information I needed to make my decision.

Korean Plastic Surgery Package Cost Breakdown

korean plastic surgery tour package cost savings

On average, Korean plastic surgery tour packages cost between $4,000 and $10,500. However, prices range from $2,000 for simpler procedures like mini facelifts to $15,000 for more complex treatments and premium care.

The overall cost will vary based on:

  • The type of procedure you choose
  • The clinic’s reputation and location (e.g., Seoul cosmetic surgery can be around 20% more expensive than in other cities)
  • The surgeon’s experience
  • Package inclusions (basic vs. premium)

Keep in mind that some Korean plastic surgery packages charge extra for:

  • Transfers ($50-$150, depending on whether shared or private)

Let’s look at the cost of Korean packages for specific medical procedures to better understand what expenses you might expect.

Korean eyelid plastic surgery packages

On average, Korean eye surgery packages cost between $3,500 and $5,000. In contrast, eyelid surgery in the US costs around $6,000 for the procedure alone and can reach up to $15,000.

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is the most popular plastic surgery in Korea, accounting for 31% of all plastic surgeries. It removes and repositions excess skin on the eyelids. The surgery can be performed on:

  • Upper eyelids to create a defined crease and eliminate sagging skin (upper blepharoplasty).
  • Lower eyelids to reduce puffiness and under-eye bags (lower blepharoplasty).

šŸ’ DID YOU KNOW?

The double eyelid surgery is especially in demand among Koreans. Many Koreans naturally have monolids, which are often seen as less defined. Double eyelid surgery creates a crease in the upper eyelid to make the eyes larger and more expressive.

Korean plastic surgery tour packages for rhinoplasty (nose job)

Standard Korean rhinoplasty tour packages usually cost between $4,500 and $6,000. However, the type and complexity of the procedure make the cost vary more widely. For example:

  • Tip rhinoplasty packages that reshape only the nose tip can cost around $3,000.
  • Full rhinoplasty packages can go up to $14,000 and include tip plasty, humpectomy (removing a hump), osteotomy (reshaping the nasal bones), and columellar reduction (refining the tissue between the nostrils).

To compare, rhinoplasty in the US costs around $11,000 on average, with complex cases reaching up to $22,000.

šŸ’ DID YOU KNOW?

Rhinoplasty is the second most popular cosmetic procedure in Korea. South Korean plastic surgeons typically use silicone allografts instead of the cartilage autografts common in the US. Silicone allografts minimize recovery time and reduce the risk of complications.

Why Choose a Korean Plastic Surgery Tour Package?

benefits of a korean plastic surgery package

Booking a Korean package isn’t just about getting procedures from the global leader for aesthetic plastic surgery. It’s also a way to make the whole experience safer, easier, and more comfortable. Here's why it’s worth it:

āœ… All-in-one convenience

No need to stress about booking hotels, arranging airport transfers, or finding a translator.Ā

āœ… Transparent and competitive pricing

Save 40-65% compared to Western prices while receiving more comprehensive care. Tour packages lock in prices upfront, covering extras like post-op therapies, compression garments, and nurse care. That way, you avoid hidden fees or surprise costs later.

āœ… Top surgeons at your fingertips

South Korea has the highest density of skilled surgeons globally, with 2,700+ specialists. Choosing a premium tour package means you get matched with experienced, board-certified surgeons without spending weeks researching on your own.

āœ… Priority access and faster scheduling

Clinics prioritize international patients who book through tour packages. This means shorter wait times for consultations and surgery.

āœ… Advanced techniques you won’t find elsewhere

Korea pioneers plastic surgery innovations that take years to reach the West. International patients can access the newest techniques and technology like V-line surgery, Ultraformer 3 HIFU, Ulthera, and minimally invasive 3-point eyelid surgery.

āœ… Unmatched expertise & reputation
In Seoul’s Gangnam district alone, there are around 500 clinics packed into a few square miles — the highest concentration on Earth. Add that to 114,000 international patients coming every year, and you’re entering a system perfectly designed for medical tourism.

āœ… Faster, smoother recovery

Korean surgeons pioneer minimally invasive procedures that reduce recovery time and scarring. Moreover, plastic surgery tour packages often include additional therapies that speed up healing.Ā

āœ… Cultural experience

Beyond surgery, booking a tour package lets you enjoy everything South Korea has to offer. From exploring vibrant Seoul neighborhoods to trying authentic Korean cuisine and skincare, it’s a chance to heal comfortably while soaking in one of the world’s most exciting cultures.

Traveling to Korea for Plastic Surgery: Important Considerations and Tips

Here’s a handy guide for things to consider before traveling to South Korea for aesthetic medicine:

Topic Details
Visa requirements Many countries (the US, EU, Canada, Australia) get visa-free entry up to 90 days. Check if you need a K-ETA before traveling.
Flights Flights from major US cities to Seoul take about 14 hours. Round-trip fares average $630, but deals can drop to $440.
Weather The best seasons for comfortable recovery are spring (April–May) and fall (September–October).
Length of stay Plan for at least 10–14 days to cover consultation, surgery, initial recovery, and check-ups.
Recovery timeline Most swelling and bruising improve within 7–10 days. Full recovery and final results can take 3–6 months, depending on specific procedures.
Currency The currency is South Korean Won (KRW). Credit cards are widely accepted. You will need cash for small shops and taxis. ATMs are easy to find, but may charge foreign cards extra.
Payment Most clinics accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) and cash (KRW).
Insurance Regular travel insurance does not cover cosmetic surgery. Consider buying specialized medical travel insurance that covers complications.
Transportation Most packages include airport pick-up and clinic transfers. Otherwise, taxi rides are affordable, starting at around $3.50–$5. Use apps like KakaoTaxi and Naver Map to get around easily.

What to pack for your plastic surgery trip to South Korea

  • Loose, comfortable clothing (button-up or zip-up tops)
  • Slip-on shoes
  • Basic skincare products (gentle cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen)
  • Any prescribed or personal medications
  • Small travel pillow
  • Lightweight recovery mask or scarf (to cover swelling if you want)
  • Power adapter (South Korea uses 220V, Type C and F plugs)
  • Copies of important documents (passport, flight tickets, insurance, medical documents, clinic confirmation)

Cultural tips to know before you go

  • Bow slightly when greeting people — it’s a sign of respect.
  • Tipping is not expected in Korea (even for taxis and restaurants).
  • Keep your voice calm and polite, especially in medical settings.
  • Hand over money, cards, and documents with both hands when possible.
  • Expect very clean and organized public spaces. Follow local etiquette, like standing on the right side of escalators in Seoul.
  • Try to learn a few basic Korean phrases (like ā€œhelloā€ and ā€œthank youā€). It’s appreciated even if you mostly rely on English.

šŸ’š If you want to make the entire process even easier, Bookimed can help. Our team assists with everything from choosing the right clinic and package to coordinating your consultation, travel, and recovery.
