The Wiener Privatklinik (WPK) is a private hospital in the university quarter of Vienna, Austria, next to the Vienna General Hospital and the Medical University of Vienna. Founded in 1871 and led since 1995 by a group of physicians, it works with more than 300 recognised doctors across over 30 specialities, and around 45 percent of its patients come from more than 20 countries. The clinic has 145 beds, seven wards and its own operating theatres, combining hospital medicine with a hotel standard of care.
Central European Cancer Center
Oncology is the clinic's central focus. The WPK Academy Central European Cancer Center brings together surgeons, oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists and pathologists, and every case is discussed by an interdisciplinary tumour board before treatment begins. Care covers the full path from diagnosis to therapy, using:

Diagnostics are gathered under one roof, so results are available quickly and without repeated appointments. Imaging includes MRI, CT, PET-CT and SPECT-CT, alongside endoscopy and molecular analysis. The clinic also offers liquid biopsy, a blood test that can detect signs of a tumour at an early stage.

Preparation for surgery, operation itself and post-surgery care were performed with utmost care and professionalism
The medical team was very professional,available at a short notice, explaining the options, and ready to answer any questions. All necessary medical tests have been done quickly. The preparation for surgery, operation itself and post-surgery care were performed with utmost care and professionalism, overall hospital environment was calming, which helped to reduce the stress associated with surgery and diagnosis. It would be good to have an accurate estimate of costs in advance to make an informed decision.
About Bookimed service
So far I am very satisfied with the support from Bookimed: they have contacted upon request within 24 hours, proposed travel assistance, different options of facilities/doctors for diagnosis, guided through the medical assessment process, made schedules of visits/tests/surgery at the shortest possible time, provided translation of medical documentation, have been accompanying to the visits/tests on spot at the clinic and helped with formalities/German language. Additionally, after the actual estimate of surgery costs have been higher compared to initial estimation, Bookimed was looking for ways to find the savings and negotiate the price. It was very helpful to keep in touch with Bookimed staff almost on a daily basis, with two of them: a remote manager and on-site representative, who co-ordinated well with each other. Very fast reaction from Bookimed in communication. Initial discussion was for an appointment in AKH and subsequently we have been forwarded to the Privatklinik. The Klinik looks very well managed. We still did not proceed with the treatment and I'm not currently able to share opinion about the Clinic itself and the treatment (will come back soon, once have treatment there). I've been in the Wiener Privatklinik for a consultation. I manage to meet the exact doctors/professors for which I was looking for a contact and did a good job. The whole story was organized and managed by Bookimed with care for the patient. Angelina Ivanenko was my contact in Bookimed and even she was on vacation for the Christmas holidays she did not put on hold the communication. For us this was very important that we are not losing time.
