Mrs Bernaschia is empathetic and competent
I am pleased to be in a helping relationship with Anna from Bookimed. Our discussions lasted several months and she was always very accommodating and generous with her time. As for the rest of the treatment with Juventa, everything went according to plan. On the first day, I received 125 million cells and 6 billion exosomes in the IV (as planned), and 25 million in the joint of my thumb, which was full of osteoarthritis. On the second day, I received IV NAD and a subcutaneous placenta implant. Mrs Bernaschia is empathetic and competent. The work was carried out in a relational, professional and respectful manner.

I was given several quotes and was able to negotiate with Anna, your representative, to get the best value for money.

I was very pleased with her methods and knowledge and I plan to see her again if i need further treatment
Dr. Isabella Bernaschina was very interested in truly helping me. She was very efficient and she has considerable experience in the use of stem cells for many different conditions. She believes in what she is doing and has used stem cells herself in the past. She also lives a very healthy lifestyle and encourages a healthy lifestyle to gain the most benefit from treatment. She simply practices what she preaches and she has a long history using stem cells and other modalities to benefit the health of her patients. I was very pleased with her methods and knowledge and I plan to see her again if i need further treatment. I could not ask for more dedicated attention. She followed up after treatment to see how i was feeling and seemed to sincerely care about how I felt after treatment.
About Bookimed service
Bookimed was very easy to work with and checked with me numerous times to be sure i was happy with the treatment scheduled and the details of travel to the clinic from the US. They checked on me more than once and right before my travel to Mexico for treatment. They checked on my travel and abominations and seemed to be sincerely interested if I was satisfied with all aspects of the travel and treatment.

FAQ about treatment in Mexico

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is stem cell therapy safe in Cancún?

Stem cell therapy in Cancun is safe when done at facilities regulated by COFEPRIS. COFEPRIS is Mexico’s federal health agency. Success depends on verifying clinic permits and checking certifications like COMEIN in cellular regenerative medicine. It also means ensuring treatments use mesenchymal stem cells from sterile, licensed laboratories.

  • Regulatory oversight: Safe clinics keep active COFEPRIS permits to meet health safety standards.
  • Specialist credentials: Top doctors hold certifications from COMEIN or the Mexican Council of Plastic Surgery.
  • Cell quality: Reputable facilities use mesenchymal stem cells from certified, pathogen-free placental tissue.
  • Facility standards: Leading clinics like Giostar serve over 5,000 international patients a year. They also maintain high hygiene standards.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows a big difference in patient volume between aesthetic-focused centers and specialized regenerative hubs. Boutique clinics may see about 10 patients a year. Established centers like Giostar handle over 5,000 medical travelers. Choosing high-volume clinics often means more standardized protocols and established safety histories for complex conditions.

Patient Consensus: Patients value professional medical teams and on-time logistics, but stress the need for thorough research. They warn patients to check COFEPRIS licenses directly. This helps avoid experimental clinics that promise unrealistic miracle cures.

What conditions are treated with stem cell therapy in Cancún?

Stem cell therapy in Cancun treats orthopedic issues like osteoarthritis and sports injuries. It also addresses neurological conditions including Parkinson and autism. Centers use mesenchymal stem cells for autoimmune disorders and regenerative aesthetic procedures. Clinics operate under COFEPRIS regulations and offer specialized protocols for chronic diseases and age management.

  • Orthopedic care: Treats degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, and joint arthritis using local injections.
  • Neurological support: Targets stroke recovery, cerebral palsy, and multiple sclerosis through systemic IV infusions.
  • Aesthetic medicine: Specialized protocols for skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, and anti-aging using exosome therapy.
  • Systemic health: Manages diabetes, chronic fatigue, and inflammatory conditions like Hashimoto thyroiditis with MSCs.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While people often search for orthopedic relief, Cancun has become a high-volume hub for aesthetic biohacking. Clinics like Aesthetics Quantum Biohack bundle mesenchymal stem cells with NAD+ and Resveratrol IVs. This combination targets systemic cellular repair rather than just local joint pain. Tiered packages at these clinics often include 3-day luxury hotel stays. The trend points toward a shift into regenerative wellness tourism.

Patient Consensus: Patients frequently report improved mobility in joints and better lab results for autoimmune issues. They appreciate the professional, punctual medical teams and the ability to combine complex healing with a vacation environment.

How do I choose a reputable stem cell clinic in Cancún?

To choose a reputable stem cell clinic in Cancún, start by checking its COFEPRIS certification. Also verify specific medical credentials. Then make sure the facility holds a valid health license and employs doctors certified by boards like the Mexican Council of Plastic Surgery or specialized regenerative medicine bodies.

  • Regulatory compliance: Check the COFEPRIS license number yourself to confirm the clinic is legally authorized.
  • Specialist credentials: Look for doctors like Dr. Adriana Gudiño, who has over 16 years of experience.
  • Laboratory standards: Confirm the laboratory uses pathogen-free mesenchymal stem cells derived from placenta or umbilical tissue.
  • Service transparency: Reputable packages often include hotel stays, transfers, and detailed pre-treatment consultations that clarify the process.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Patient volume is a major quality indicator in Cancún. Large-scale clinics like PERFECT SKIN CANCÚN serve over 20,000 patients annually. Meanwhile, specialized centers like GIOSTAR Mexico manage high-complexity cases for patients from 30+ countries. High volume typically correlates with more refined safety protocols and standard results.

Patient Consensus: Patients advise asking for physical proof of cell quality and lab testing. Relying on social media alone is not enough. Punctual airport transfers and attentive staff are often signs of a professional, patient-centered clinic.

What are the best stem cell therapy clinics in Cancún?

Top stem cell therapy clinics in Cancun include GIOSTAR Mexico, Aesthetics Quantum Biohack Clinic, and Perfect Skin Cancun. These clinics focus on safety through COFEPRIS certification. They specialize in mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) treatments. These treatments cover orthopedic, autoimmune, and anti-aging conditions and use regenerative protocols.

  • GIOSTAR Mexico: Uses proprietary protocols developed by a US-based research team for systemic treatments.
  • Aesthetics Quantum Biohack: Operates under COFEPRIS permit #2623025056X00181. It specializes in MSC and exosome therapies.
  • Perfect Skin Cancun: Serves 20,000 patients annually with personalized protocols led by Dr. Imelda Peraza Gregor.
  • Cancun Hair Restoration: ASPS-accredited facility offering robotic hair transplants and PRP regenerative therapy.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Cancun clinics like Aesthetics Quantum Biohack offer higher-value packages. They bundle 3-day 4-star hotel stays and VIP transfers. Prices range from $7,200 to $18,500. However, these inclusions often balance out the higher cell-count costs compared to clinics that omit accommodation.

Patient Consensus: Patients value professional medical teams and punctual clinic transfers. They also stress the importance of pain-free procedures. Practical advice includes verifying live cell viability. It also helps to request clear documentation on cell sourcing and testing protocols.

What is included in a Cancún stem cell treatment package?

Cancún stem cell therapy packages focus on high-dose regenerative treatments, ranging from $7,200 to $18,500. Standard inclusions include medical consultations and specialized cell administration (IV or injections). Airport-to-hotel transfers are also included. Clinics often bundle complementary therapies like exosomes or NAD+ for enhanced recovery.

  • Cell dosage: Packages include 10M to 100M+ mesenchymal cells, depending on treatment goals.
  • Delivery methods: Inclusions cover systemic IV infusions, joint injections, or local scalp applications.
  • Medical oversight: Facilities like Aesthetics Quantum Biohack hold COFEPRIS-licensed safety permits.
  • Concierge support: Packages often include 3 hotel nights and VIP ground transportation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Don't overlook the base cell count when comparing Cancún offers. Some packages, like those at PERFECT SKIN CANCÚN, start at lower prices for 10M cells. But high-impact regenerative protocols typically require 100M cells. Clinics like Aesthetics Quantum Biohack provide significant value. Their packages bundle 4-star accommodation and expensive biohacking add-ons like Resveratrol IV into the standard pricing.

Patient Consensus: Patients value the convenience of bundled airport pickups. They also appreciate the detailed laboratory certificates provided for cell quality. Most recommend confirming exact cell counts and the specific route of delivery before arrival. This makes sure expectations match the clinical protocol.

Are stem cell treatments legally regulated in Cancún?

Stem cell treatments are legally regulated in Cancun by COFEPRIS, Mexico's federal health authority. Mexico allows broader clinical use of mesenchymal stem cells than the US. However, clinics must hold specific regenerative medicine licenses and address-specific facility permits to operate legally.

  • Regulatory body: COFEPRIS governs all regenerative therapies and medical facilities in Mexico.
  • Facility licensing: Clinics must have a valid COFEPRIS permit for MSC cell therapy.
  • Physician credentials: Surgeons often hold certifications from COMEIN or CMEQROO in regenerative medicine.
  • Standard protocols: Authorized clinics must establish internal transplant committees to oversee patient safety.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows a significant range in laboratory standards among Cancun facilities. Clinics such as Aesthetics Quantum Biohack provide specific COFEPRIS permit numbers (e.g., #2623025056X00181) upfront. Verifying a clinic's unique license numbers is the most reliable check. It confirms the clinic follows federal legal frameworks.

Patient Consensus: Patients often mention the professional medical teams and clean facilities. Most appreciate the punctual logistics. However, they emphasize verifying documentation before starting treatment.

Do I need to stay hospitalized overnight for stem cell therapy in Cancún?

Stem cell therapy in Cancun does not require hospitalization. Treatments are performed as outpatient procedures. Most sessions last 1 to 3 hours. They take place at licensed facilities like Aesthetics Quantum Biohack or PERFECT SKIN CANCÚN. Afterward, patients can return to their hotel immediately.

  • Stay type: Procedures are 100% outpatient, so no hospital room stay is required.
  • Recovery location: Patients typically recover in 4-star hotels for 3 to 7 days.
  • Medical oversight: Clinics like Aesthetics Quantum Biohack operate under regulated COFEPRIS sanitary permits.
  • Post-op symptoms: Minor fatigue or swelling may occur, usually resolving within 24 to 48 hours.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Some clinics, like PERFECT SKIN CANCÚN, offer treatments without built-in accommodation. However, top-tier packages often include 3 hotel nights. Data shows these inclusive bundles provide better value than booking separately. For instance, packages from Aesthetics Quantum Biohack include 4-star hotel stays and VIP transfers. This helps ensure stable recovery conditions during the critical first 72 hours.

Patient Consensus: Patients often say the treatment is pain-free and quick. Even so, they find booking an extra hotel night is vital. This helps manage travel fatigue and minor post-procedure swelling.

How many days should I plan for a stem cell therapy trip to Cancún?

Plan a stay of 4 to 7 days for stem cell therapy in Cancún. This makes sure you recover safely. Most procedures are outpatient. Still, clinics often recommend staying 3 nights in a 4-star hotel. This helps you get the required 48 hours of rest and next-day follow-up checks.

  • Standard protocol duration: Basic IV infusions or simple joint injections usually require 2 to 3 days.
  • Full protocol duration: Complex spinal or autoimmune treatments usually require 4 to 7 days.
  • Post-procedure rest: Doctors usually require 48 hours of rest before you board any return flights.
  • Activity restrictions: Patients should avoid heavy physical activity for 30 days following the treatment.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many people search for short trips. However, over 20,000 patients annually at Cancún clinics focus on packages that bundle 3 nights of hotel stay. Our data shows that doctors like Dr. Vivian Arroyo Schoener require this buffer. They need to check for rare immediate reactions before you travel.

Patient Consensus: Travelers stress that the procedure is often pain-free and quick. However, the real work happens during the 48-hour post-injection rest period. They recommend not expecting immediate changes. Cellular improvements usually appear 3 to 6 months later.

What conditions are commonly treated with stem cells in Cancún?

Cancun clinics treat degenerative, autoimmune, and chronic conditions using high-dose mesenchymal stem cells. They mainly treat orthopedic issues like osteoarthritis, neurological disorders such as Parkinson's, and autoimmune conditions like Crohn's disease. Facilities like Giostar Cancun follow COFEPRIS regulations and use umbilical cord-derived cells.

  • Orthopedic care: Regenerates joints, knees, and spine with targeted injections.
  • Neurological support: Treats Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, and stroke recovery with systemic or intrathecal delivery.
  • Autoimmune focus: Manages inflammation from Lupus, Crohn’s, and Hashimoto’s using intravenous therapy.
  • Aesthetic medicine: Combines exosome and stem cell therapies for hair restoration and skin rejuvenation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While some patients seek wellness boosts, Cancun specializes in high-volume aesthetic and regenerative medicine. Clinics like PERFECT SKIN CANCÚN serve over 20,000 patients annually. Treatment protocols are shifting toward combining stem cells with Exosomes and NAD+ infusions. This combination enhances cellular signaling and recovery speeds.

Patient Consensus: Patients say delivery methods are very important. Joint injections work best for localized pain, and intrathecal therapy is preferred for neurological improvements. Pain reduction is common after spinal and knee treatments.

What type of stem cells are used in Cancún clinics?

Cancún clinics mainly use allogenic mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). They come from Wharton’s jelly (a tissue in the umbilical cord) and placenta tissue. Many facilities also provide autologous treatments using a patient's own fat tissue or bone marrow. They may also offer other biological therapies such as exosomes and natural killer cells.

  • Cell sources: Clinics use umbilical cord Wharton’s jelly, placenta, bone marrow, and fat tissue.
  • Advanced biologics: Treatments often include exosome therapy, natural killer cells, and platelet-rich plasma.
  • Delivery methods: Doctors deliver cells through IV infusions (into the bloodstream) or injections directly into joints.
  • Regulatory oversight: Facilities like Aesthetics Quantum Biohack Clinic have official COFEPRIS sanitary permits.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While cell type matters, donor cell volume is the competitive driver in Cancún. Popular packages range from 10 million to 100 million cells. Interestingly, data shows clinics like Perfect Skin Cancún manage large patient volumes—up to 20,000 a year. They specialize in standardized, high-dose protocols that are much more accessible than North American options.

Patient Consensus: Patients often prefer umbilical-derived MSCs. These donor cells are a premium option not easily found in the US. Reviewers often mention the attentive medical teams. They also appreciate punctual hotel pickups during recovery.
