Professor Kim Jong-yeon is a gastroenterologist at Myongji Hospital. He treats diseases of the esophagus, stomach, colon, and liver, including cirrhosis and hepatitis. He pioneered advanced coronary bypass in Korea. He has extensive OPCAB experience and works on the TECAB team using the da Vinci Xi.
In 2025, his team performed Korea’s first totally endoscopic CABG without cardiopulmonary bypass. In August 2026, they achieved the nation’s first multivessel TECAB.
He is former Chair of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Seoul National University College of Medicine. He is also former Chief of the same department at Seoul National University Hospital. He serves on the Editorial Board of The Annals of Thoracic Surgery. He is a member of AATS, STS, and EACTS. He is a past President of the Korean Societies of Coronary Artery Surgery, Surgical Treatment of Arrhythmias, and Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. Dr. Kim Jin Gu is a Korean orthopedic surgeon who specializes in knee surgery and sports medicine. He is the Medical Director and the Sports Medicine Center Director at Myongji Hospital. His main areas are ACL reconstruction, meniscus surgery and transplantation, knee arthroscopy, and knee replacement. He offers pre‑treatment online consultations for international patients.
In 2022 he surpassed 3,000 ACL reconstructions over more than 25 years of practice. He trained at the University of Pittsburgh. He introduced advanced ACL techniques. His team uses the CUVIS Joint robot for precise knee replacement. He serves as Vice President of the Korean Society of Sports Medicine. He is a council member of the Korean Knee Society and the Korean Arthroscopy Society. He serves on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy and Orthopedic Sports Medicine. His awards include Best Paper and Most Cited (Korean Knee Society), Best Paper (Korean Arthroscopy Society), and Best Doctor (Korean Athletic Trainers Association). He earned his MD from Seoul National University. He completed his MS and PhD at Inje University. He is the lead author of Knee Arthroscopy—Up‑to‑Date Guide (Springer).
Professor Park Jung-won is a leading Korean specialist in hepatocellular carcinoma with over 30 years of experience. He is the Director of the Liver and Liver Cancer Center and the Integrated Cancer Care Center at Myongji Hospital. He led Korea’s first HCC guidelines in 2003. He has also overseen their updates for about 20 years. His team validated proton beam radiotherapy for liver cancer, as published in the Journal of Hepatology. He has authored more than 200 SCI-indexed papers. He also helped lead global trials, including the 2025 CheckMate 9DW study, which showed improved outcomes with nivolumab plus ipilimumab for unresectable HCC.
