Specialists at Teknon provide brachy treatment for prostate cancer.
Brachytherapy for prostate cancer is performed under general or local anesthesia. A physician implants the catheter to remove the urine. The special probe is put inside the rectum to visualize and control the process.
Then 15-30 needles are placed into the prostate. Radioactive seeds inserted inside the prostate go through them. The high dose rate brachytherapy for prostate cancer takes 1.5 hours. When the operation is over, a patient is hospitalized. If there are no complications, a doctor removes the catheter and gives the recommendations. A man is discharged from the Hospital.
The cost of brachytherapy is determined for each patient individually.

Prostate brachytherapy is a form of radiation therapy used to treat prostate cancer where radioactive sources are placed in the prostate gland. The radiation can kill the cancer cells while causing minor damage to healthy tissue nearby. The overall prostate-specific antigen (PSA) progression-free survival at 10 years is 80-90% for low-risk patients. Many long-term follow-up clinical studies have shown better biochemical disease-free survival after brachytherapy than conventional external-beam radiotherapy and similar survival after radical prostatectomy.
