How Much Does Hysteroscopic myomectomy Cost in Turkey?

Hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey typically costs from $2,000 to $3,500. The final price depends on fibroid complexity, surgeon expertise, and the selected hospital tier. In the US, similar procedures cost around $13,500 on average. Patients save around 79% compared to US rates. Standard packages usually include preoperative tests, surgical fees, anesthesia, and medical consultations in cities like Istanbul, Ankara, and Antalya.

  • Hospital accreditation: JCI-accredited facilities like Anadolu Medical Center or Hisar Hospital often have higher base prices.
  • Fibroid complexity: Prices for removing Grade 1–2 fibroids are generally lower than Grade 3–4 complex cases.
  • City variations: Medical hubs include Istanbul, Ankara, and Antalya, with Istanbul often featuring the widest package range.
  • Package inclusions: Premium options may bundle VIP airport transfers and local clinic transportation with the surgery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a specialized package can offer significant value beyond the surgery itself. For instance, Hisar Hospital Intercontinental provides packages around $3,400 that include JCI-standard care and airport transfers. This often costs less than individual billing at other top-tier clinics. Selecting a doctor with specific da Vinci or European Board certifications ensures high-level surgical precision for complex fibroids.

I’d give the hospital 5 points
I’ll deduct one point because of the transfer. I was supposed to be at the hospital at 6.00. We’d agreed that they’d pick me up at 5.40. I waited until 5.55, but they didn’t come to pick me up, even though I’d texted and phoned them. They turned up just as I’d already walked there myself. Overall, though, I coped very well with the anaesthetic and haven’t felt any pain at all. I’d give the hospital 5 points.

Based on my experience, I'd give this clinic a 10 for a recommendation
If you're considering this procedure, I found the process here to be very straightforward. The surgeon used bipolar cautery for the tubal ligation, leaving me with just three small holes that are all healing cleanly. It was a relief. The initial abdominal bloating went away completely, which was my main physical discomfort. My biggest recovery challenge has honestly been the fatigue that lingers, so be prepared to take it easy for a bit longer than you might think. The surgeon and staff were competent and professional. Based on my experience, I'd give this clinic a 10 for a recommendation.
The coordinator was very helpful, staff were knowledgeable and attentive, care was to a high standard.
English communication could have been better at the hospital itself

Litt bedre engelsk talende sykepleier . Men det gikk fint med Google translate så jeg hadde ingen problemer med å bli forstått

"I especially want to note that everything that was done at the highest level is mainly the merit of an employee named Zakhida
On the recommendation of Bookimed, I underwent a medical examination at the Anadolu Medical Center (Turkey). Why did you choose the Anadolu clinic? Because it was the only clinic recommended to me by Bookimed that responded very quickly to my requests, and only this clinic developed and sent me a program for my examination. Two other clinics, such as Medipol, limited themselves only to gratitude that I contacted them, and the Şişli Memorial clinic remained silent until the end without any feedback. I will not dwell on the provision of the Anadolu clinic with the most modern medical equipment, since many Turkish clinics today are equipped with the most modern equipment. I personally became convinced of this at the stage of choosing a clinic, when I got acquainted with the equipment of many clinics. The qualifications of Turkish medical specialists are generally high and they are really professionals in their field. But there is one very important point - the ability to plan and organize medical examinations. For a patient who comes to such institutions with great hopes, any attention or inattention rendered affects his psychological and moral state, and it naturally depends on this what attitude he will determine and form for himself towards the clinic itself. To be in constant contact with the patient from the moment of his desire to visit the clinic, prepare in every possible way for arrival, prepare medical data and analysis results, assist in booking a hotel, meeting at the airport upon arrival, exceptionally efficient planning of all examinations, eliminating any inconvenience for the patient from - for waiting in queues for tests, undergoing procedures and consulting a doctor and much more, this is a huge advantage of the Anadolu clinic over other clinics. I especially want to note that everything that was done at the highest level is mainly the merit of an employee named Zakhida. (international department of the clinic). Professionalism, an individual approach to each patient, impeccable organization of the entire work process, endless energy, high tolerance, femininity, pleasant appearance and many other positive qualities of a person - said about Zakhida. Zahida, please accept my deep gratitude and wish you all the best. Always remain the same joyful, radiant, beautiful and feminine! I also want to thank other employees of the Anadolu clinic, doctors, nurses, translators - thanks to your conscientious work and your high professionalism, I received a quality medical service. . I thank the Bookimed employees (Vladimir, Varvara) for your attention and for the excellent organization of the survey. All the best to you and your loved ones! With great respect, Uktam Eshmuradov (Uzbekistan).

FAQ about Hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What is typically included in a medical travel package?

Medical travel packages for hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey typically bundle the surgical procedure, anesthesia, and facility fees with logistical support. Most comprehensive plans include VIP airport transfers, 1–2 nights of hospital stay, and initial post-operative consultations to ensure a seamless recovery process for international patients.

  • Core medical services: Coverage includes surgeon fees, anesthesiology, and operating room use for myoma resection.
  • Hospital stay: Packages usually provide 1–2 nights in a private room with basic nursing care.
  • Logistics: Dedicated VIP transfers between the airport, hotel, and clinic are standard inclusions.
  • Patient support: Many centers like Hisar Hospital Intercontinental include personal coordinators to assist with scheduling.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic packages start at $2,000, higher-tier options often include diagnostic hysteroscopy and Grade 3–4 excision. I've noticed that premium packages from clinics like Memorial Göztepe specifically itemize preoperative tests. This transparency is crucial because pathology reports can sometimes cost an additional $500 depending on the facility.

Patient Consensus: Patients often recommend budgeting 20–30% extra for unplanned expenses like specialized medications. Many survivors suggest packing personal recovery supplies and stool softeners to avoid high on-site pharmacy costs.

What are the risks and safety considerations for hysteroscopic myomectomy?

Hysteroscopic myomectomy is a safe, minimally invasive procedure with complication rates between 1% and 3.6%. Primary risks include fluid overload, uterine perforation, and incomplete fibroid removal. High-tech Turkish clinics mitigate these through specialized fluid management systems and JCI-accredited safety protocols for submucosal fibroid resection.

  • Fluid management: Surgeons monitor distension fluid deficits to prevent pulmonary edema or hyponatremia.
  • Mechanical injury: Uterine perforation occurs in under 1% of cases during cervical dilation.
  • Fibroid grading: Type 0 and Type 1 fibroids under 4cm are safest for resection.
  • Scarring risks: Intrauterine adhesions may form post-surgery, potentially impacting future fertility and conception.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish centers like Memorial Bahçelievler use a specific Grade 1–4 classification system to price and plan surgeries. This data shows that Grade 3–4 excisions cost about 22% more than simpler cases. Patients with deeper fibroids should ensure their surgeon uses bipolar electrosurgery to reduce electrolyte imbalance risks.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize the need for hospital-based recovery rather than just clinics. Most report returning to light activity within 2 days but advise checking for prophylactic antibiotic protocols to avoid post-operative infection.

How long should I stay in Turkey for the procedure?

Most patients require a 5 to 7 day stay in Turkey for a hysteroscopic myomectomy. While the procedure often allows same-day discharge, a mandatory follow-up check-up 1 to 5 days post-operation ensures you are stable for travel and helps prevent complications during your flight home.

  • Hospital stay: Expect same-day discharge or 48-hour observation for complex, multi-polyp cases.
  • Initial recovery: Plan for 2 to 4 days of rest before resuming light activity.
  • Travel clearance: Surgeons typically authorize flying 5 to 7 days after the procedure.
  • Mandatory follow-up: Clinics schedule essential evaluations within 1 to 5 days post-surgery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic packages at clinics like Hisar Hospital Intercontinental quote same-day discharge, patient data shows complex grade 3-4 excisions frequently require a 48-hour buffer. Booking 7 days instead of 5 provides a safety net for hemoglobin monitoring, which is vital before long-haul travel.

Patient Consensus: Patients recommend arriving 2 days early to adjust. Most report manageable cramping for 48 hours and suggest packing pads for spotting that may continue for a week.

How effective is hysteroscopic myomectomy in removing fibroids and improving symptoms?

Hysteroscopic myomectomy is the gold standard for removing submucosal fibroids, achieving internal symptom relief for 70% to 99% of patients. This minimally invasive approach requires no incisions, allows for same-day discharge, and typically restores normal activity levels within 1 to 2 weeks.

  • Success rates: High effectiveness in resolving abnormal uterine bleeding and pelvic pressure symptoms.
  • Fertility impact: Removing cavity-distorting fibroids can improve pregnancy rates by 30% to 70%.
  • Recovery timeline: Most patients return to work within 2 days following outpatient treatment.
  • Long-term outlook: Approximately 90% of women report satisfaction 1 to 2 years post-procedure.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data from Turkish JCI-accredited centers shows a clear link between fibroid grading and cost efficiency. While Type 0 fibroids are often resolved in one session for approximately $2,000, larger Grade 3–4 fibroids may require specialized excision priced up to $8,200. Patients should confirm their fibroid type via saline sonogram to ensure the correct surgical approach is quoted upfront.

Patient Consensus: Many patients regret delaying the procedure through watchful waiting, noting that early intervention quickly resolved chronic anemia. While most experience immediate relief, some emphasize the importance of tracking symptoms for 6 months to monitor for potential recurrence.

Who is a candidate for hysteroscopic myomectomy and who should avoid it?

Ideal candidates for hysteroscopic myomectomy include women with symptomatic submucosal fibroids under 5 cm that bulge into the uterine cavity. This incision-free procedure is highly effective for patients seeking to treat heavy bleeding or infertility while avoiding abdominal surgery and long recoveries.

  • Fibroid classification: Best for submucosal Type 0, 1, or 2 fibroids within the uterine cavity.
  • Size constraints: Optimal for growths under 5 cm to minimize fluid overload risks during surgery.
  • Fertility goals: Recommended for women preserving the uterus for pregnancy without abdominal scarring.
  • Exclusion criteria: Avoid if fibroids are intramural, subserosal, or larger than 5–6 cm.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish clinics often offer graded pricing based on fibroid complexity, with Grades 3–4 reaching $8,200 compared to $3,380 for simpler cases. This variation reflects the advanced surgical skill required for deeper excavations. Choosing a JCI-accredited center like Hisar Hospital Intercontinental ensures access to fluid management protocols that prevent complications during long resections.

Patient Consensus: Patients with single small fibroids report the easiest recoveries. Many emphasize the importance of a saline infusion sonogram beforehand to confirm the fibroid is truly accessible via the cervix.

How is hysteroscopic myomectomy performed and how does it differ from other myomectomy techniques?

Hysteroscopic myomectomy is a scarless, vaginal procedure that removes submucosal fibroids using a resectoscope. Unlike laparoscopic or abdominal techniques, it requires no external incisions, utilizes natural access through the cervix, and allows for same-day discharge with a rapid 48-hour return to work.

  • Access route: Surgeons enter through the vagina and cervix using a lighted hysteroscope.
  • Fibroid removal: A specialized wire loop shaves fibroids into fragments using high-frequency electrical energy.
  • Uterine distension: Saline or specialized fluid expands the cavity to provide clear intraoperative visibility.
  • Recovery period: Patients typically recover within 1–2 days compared to 4–6 weeks for laparoscopy.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While hysteroscopy is the least invasive option, Memorial Group data shows price brackets based on fibroid complexity. Grade 1–2 excisions start at $6,700, while Grade 3–4 cases reach $8,200. Patients with deep-seated fibroids should confirm their `grade` via MRI to avoid needing unplanned secondary sessions.

Patient Consensus: Patients value the absence of visible scarring and the quick 2-day recovery. Many emphasize confirming fibroid type beforehand, as this vaginal approach only works for those inside the uterine cavity.

How long should international patients plan to stay in Turkey for hysteroscopic myomectomy?

International patients should plan to stay in Turkey for 3 to 7 days for a hysteroscopic myomectomy. This timeframe allows 1 day for preoperative tests, the outpatient surgery, and 2 to 5 days for recovery before safely flying home to prevent discomfort.

  • Preoperative preparation: Arrive 1 day early for blood work and surgeon consultations.
  • Hospital duration: Most patients undergo same-day surgery with 0 to 1 nights hospitalization.
  • Travel clearance: Surgeons typically approve international flights within 48 hours post-procedure.
  • Recovery buffer: Staying 5 days ensures a final follow-up check before departure.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics like Memorial Bahçelievler often perform this as an outpatient service. High-volume centers in Istanbul handle thousands of gynecological cases annually. This experience allows for faster discharge protocols without compromising patient safety.

Patient Consensus: Many women report feeling ready to explore Istanbul within 2 days. They suggest booking a hotel near the clinic to minimize travel stress during recovery.

What are the potential health risks associated with a hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey?

Hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey is a safe, minimally invasive choice for fibroid removal. Risks include uterine perforation, fluid overload, or minor haemorrhage. Specialist surgeons in JCI-accredited Istanbul hospitals use endoscopic techniques to maintain high safety standards and offer same-day discharge.

  • Clinical excellence: Leading clinics like Anadolu Medical Center are affiliated with Johns Hopkins Hospital.
  • Surgical expertise: Surgeons such as Dr Esra Ozbasli are board-certified with international clinical training.
  • Fluid management: Theatres use specific distension media to expand the uterus while monitoring metabolic levels.
  • Quality standards: Key facilities hold JCI and ISO certifications for rigorous infection control.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish specialists often use Grade 3–4 excision techniques for complex fibroids. Data shows hospitals like Memorial Bahçelievler manage larger growths that some clinics elsewhere might refuse. This high-volume experience with complex cases typically leads to fewer incomplete resections.

Who is an ideal candidate for a hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey?

An ideal candidate for hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey has submucosal fibroids. These sit within the uterine cavity and cause heavy bleeding or infertility. Suitable patients typically have fibroids under 5–6 cm (FIGO Grade 0, 1, or 2). They often prioritise scarless surgery with same-day discharge.

  • Fibroid location: Growth must be submucosal, meaning it sits within or bulges into the uterine cavity.
  • Size constraints: Fibroids under 5–6 cm are safest for single-stage removal without abdominal incisions.
  • Symptomatic relief: Candidates often suffer from anaemia, heavy menstrual bleeding, or pelvic pressure and pain.
  • Fertility goals: Ideal for women seeking uterine-sparing surgery to improve chances for future pregnancy.
  • Grade classification: Best results occur with Grade 0 (pedunculated) or Grade 1–2 (partially in muscle) fibroids.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish specialists often differentiate pricing based on FIGO classification. Grade 3–4 fibroids require deeper excision. While Hisar Hospital Intercontinental offers packages from A$4,700 for simpler cases, complex resections can reach A$11,300. Confirming your grade via ultrasound before travel helps get an accurate quote.

Patient Consensus: Women choosing Turkey appreciate the focus on preserving the uterus for future children. Patients value getting a clear fibroid classification and confirmation of a single-stage procedure before booking.

Will I have visible scars after a hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey?

Hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey leaves no visible external scars. This procedure uses a hysteroscope inserted through the vagina and cervix. Surgeons do not make incisions in the abdominal wall. This means there are no skin wounds to heal or scars to manage after surgery.

  • No external incisions: Surgeons access the uterus naturally through the vaginal canal and cervix.
  • Internal approach: The procedure targets submucosal fibroids located inside the uterine cavity.
  • Same-day discharge: Most Turkish clinics, including Hisar Hospital Intercontinental, offer 1-day hospital stays.
  • Rapid skin recovery: Absence of abdominal wounds allows patients to resume activities within 24–48 hours.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish specialists often use V-NOTES (scarless) techniques for complex cases. Surgeons like Op. Dr. Berna Buse Kobal at Hisar Hospital specialise in these endoscopic methods. This helps keep complicated removals scar-free while using JCI-accredited facilities for safety.

Patient Consensus: Patients confirm the absence of skin marks. They note that recovery focuses on internal cramping rather than wound care. They suggest confirming the hysteroscopic approach in writing to check that an abdominal incision is not required.

How soon can I expect recovery after a hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey?

Recovery after hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey is typically rapid. Most patients return to normal daily activities within 24 to 48 hours. This minimally invasive technique uses an intrauterine approach without abdominal incisions. This allows for same-day discharge and faster healing than traditional surgical methods.

  • Hospital discharge: Candidates frequently leave the hospital on the same day as surgery.
  • Physical activity: Patients usually resume light daily tasks within 1 to 2 days.
  • Symptom management: Mild cramping or spotting may occur for several days after the procedure.
  • Clinical support: JCI-accredited facilities often provide 24/7 assistance during the initial recovery phase.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish clinics such as Hisar Hospital Intercontinental focus on same-day recovery protocols. Some specialists also use Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) pathways. These protocols target faster mobilisation and reduced fatigue. This is particularly beneficial for Australians managing long return flights after treatment.

Patient Consensus: Most feel significantly better within 72 hours in Turkey. Cramping and spotting are normal for up to 2 weeks. Plan a short buffer for rest before flying back to Australia. Avoid heavy lifting and intense sightseeing immediately after hospital discharge.

How soon after a hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey can I attempt to conceive?

Most patients can attempt to conceive 2 months after a hysteroscopic myomectomy in Turkey. This technique removes fibroids via the cervix without abdominal incisions. It allows the uterine lining to recover faster than with open surgery. Surgeons provide specific timelines based on fibroid size and location.

  • Healing timeframe: Uterine tissue typically requires 8 weeks to fully heal before pregnancy.
  • Clinical grading: Recovery depends on whether the fibroids were Grade 1, 2, or 3.
  • Success rates: Post-surgery conception success rates generally range from 60% to 90%.
  • Surgery access: Specialists like Dr. Esra Ozbasli perform these procedures at JCI-accredited centres.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish clinics often separate costs based on fibroid complexity, such as Grade 1–2 versus Grade 3–4.
