Unfortunately the moment I got to Gilenis Surgical Center I should have walked out and never returned. Ana lied to me from day 1. I was promised transportation from San Diego - she backed out on that the day before we were supposed to be there. So we had to completely change plans and get our own ride. After that the first experience inside of Gilenis was horrific, the place smelled bad and was filthy. I immediately said I would not have surgery there. I contacted Bookimed and Ana insured me they would clean (which the visit the next day showed they did and painted over what looked like blood on the walls) I still wasn’t sure about it. Then the dr issues came. 1-she had us wait for a dr who never showed and she said ghosted her. But she kept calling the Dr “he” so i kept asking for a name because my paperwork from Bookimed already gave me the dr name and she was a woman. Unfortunately that was another lie. She had never intended for me to have the skilled dr she promised. I was certain we were calling off the surgery at this point- until she suddenly found a new dr. If Dr Rafael wouldn’t have been amazing and done a thorough exam and provided his own translator - I wouldn’t have agreed to continue with surgery. I did though, while Dr Rafael was amazing- my care and treatment at the surgical center was horrid. 1 there was no AC at night- only a fan that shut off constantly I had to reach for after having abdominal surgery and in pain. Then I was denied pain medication for longer than 8 hrs after surgery, then the following morning less than 24 hours after surgery I was completely refused medication at all and told (and shown text from Ana to staff) directing them NOT to give me pain medication and tell me to go purchase them on my own. If that wasn’t traumatic enough I was then told although I paid for a two night stay at this surgical center- Ana wanted me out before 4 because she had other patients coming. Ana pressured Dr Rafael to show up and examine me- him and his staff confirmed Ana wsnted me to leave but they told her no I needed pain medication and to rest a night longer. But that’s not what I got. My husband had to walk over a mile to get us a vehicle and then come back and retrieve me. I had to go up stairs and ride in a car with no pain medication and now I have hematomas. If we were in the US I would be during this surgical center. Please never ever trust this place! It’s horrible! And run by a crook who contacted me since all this - just for money!

About Bookimed service
Unfortunately after this experience I would never choose to book anything through Bookimed again, they have not vetted Ana the crook and her filthy facility properly.
