Uterine cancer is a malignant disease that develops from the mucous and muscle membranes of the uterus. All kinds of malignant formations in the uterus are divided into two categories – hormone-dependent and hormone-independent.
Turkish oncologists, understanding the importance of early diagnostics and early treatment of the disease recommend to carry out diagnostic screenings, and to detect the disease as early as possible.
At its later stages, the pathology is manifested by symptoms, that can be recognized as the disease only by an expert:
-
Uterine bleeding;
-
The painfulness and discomfort in the lower abdomen;
-
Menstrual disorders (heavy emmenia or intermenstrual bleeding);
-
Bloody discharges during menopause.
Solid experience of specialists from oncological centers of Turkey concludes, that early diagnostics allow to apply the latest methods of treatment effectively, saving the patient. High-precision methods for uterine cancer examination are the following:
-
Biopsy tissue with cyto-histochemical cell analysis;
-
Intravaginal sonography, hysteroscopy;
-
MRI, CT, PET-CT;
-
Blood tests for tumor markers.
In Turkey, the effective methods of treatment of uterine cancer are applied at any stage of the disease, including high-tech methods, guided by international treatment protocols:
-
1-2 st. - surgical treatment (radical hysterectomy) isperformed laparoscopically with the use of radiosurgery (GammaKnife, CyberKnife, da Vinci robot). Chemotherapy with modern drugs, radiation therapy.
-
3-4 st. - if the tumor is operable, surgical treatment is applied; if it cannot be removed radically, as well as to improve the efficiency of complex therapy, systemic treatment is carried out: chemotherapy, radiofrequency, hormone therapy with hormone-dependent tumors.
