When I first mentioned traveling to Mexico for this procedure, many people in my circle were concerned. We’ve all heard the cautionary tales, but from my first consultation, I knew I was in capable hands. This wasn't just about "getting work done"; it was about a meticulous, highly personalized medical journey. Why This Surgeon Stands Out: Extreme Diligence: The pre-operative phase was incredibly thorough. The doctor didn't just look at my face; they looked at my entire health profile to ensure I was a perfect candidate for a deep plane technique. Constant Communication: The sheer number of check-ups before the surgery completely eased my anxiety. Every question was answered with patience and clinical depth. Meticulous Aftercare: The post-op phase was where the doctor truly shined. I wasn't just "discharged and forgotten." There were frequent, scheduled follow-ups to monitor healing, swelling, and incision sites. Natural Results: The deep plane technique requires a master's touch to avoid that "pulled" look. My results are refreshed, tight in the right places, and—most importantly—look exactly like me, just ten years ago.
While the surgical outcome was great, the actual hospital stay in Guadalajara was a bit of a mixed bag. If you are coming from the US, it’s important to adjust your expectations, as the "luxury" experience you might expect for the price doesn't always translate to the daily bedside care. The Hospital Facilities: A Mediocre Reality The facility itself felt functional, but the patient experience left a lot to be desired. Dealing with a recovery while navigating a different medical system definitely had its moments of frustration. The Lowlights of My Stay: Hygiene & Comfort: I was in bed for two full days, and my sheets were never changed. Most upsetting was having to sleep on a bloody pillowcase from the initial post-op drainage; it felt unsanitary and made it very hard to get comfortable. Medication Confusion: I was given a revolving door of pills and IV drips. While I’m sure they were necessary, there was very little explanation provided. I often felt like I was just swallowing things without knowing if they were for pain, swelling, or infection. Cultural Differences in Care: Things are definitely done differently in Mexico. The nursing staff was polite, but the proactive "pampering" or constant monitoring of room cleanliness that you see in US private hospitals just wasn't there. Final Thoughts on the Facility The surgeon's skill is the main event, but the recovery environment felt a bit neglected. It’s a "no-frills" clinical experience—fine if you just need a bed, but disappointing if you’re expecting a high-end recovery suite. Pro Tip: If you choose this facility, I highly recommend bringing a companion who can advocate for you, ask for fresh linens, and help keep track of your medication schedule. Also, have wipes, napkins, sanitizer, lip balm and a phone charger all within reach.

Dr Marroquin was/is available nearly immediately with WhatsApp and addressed all my concerns and questions with a speed and efficiency one can't get in the US
Top notch facilities, very attentive staff and Dr Marroquin was / is available nearly immediately with WhatsApp and addressed all my concerns and questions with a speed and efficiency one can't get in the US. My recovery at FCH Hotel was very good as well. Is in a great area of Guadalajara, totally safe and lots of dining options.
Competence of Dr and staff.
Nothing signifigant to criticise, went fairly smooth.

Dr
Dr. Marraquin was amazing. He spent over an hour with me on my consultation before my surgery. Let me know absolutely everything that was going to happen. His years of training is quite obvious to anybody who is requesting his services. He answered every question I could possibly think of. Additionally, he was available through text messaging 24 hours a day. He’s response time was impressive. I was very pleased with the outcome of my facelift. I would refer him to any buddy I know.

my doctor, Dr
my doctor, Dr. M was amazing. He was available by text very experienced knowledgeable. I cannot comment on the outcome as of yet. I’m only 10 days out but definitely will be back to update my review so far he has a 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone thinking of Having surgery. I really cannot say enough about his professionalism
I liked how the doctor explained everything to me in details that I understood made sure I understood exactly what was happening as well as being realistic about how long it will take in the journey to get there. And just knowing that he and his staff were there for me at all times during my stay.
Overall, it was a very positive experience and I don’t think I have any one particular item that I did not like of course nobody likes having surgery done however they made it as comfortable as possible
