Qualifications
a.o. Univ. Prof. Dr. med. Tamara Kopp is a board-certified specialist in dermatology and venereology and the owner of JUVENIS Medical Center in central Vienna. She brings together almost thirty years of skin medicine, a university-hospital academic career and an internationally awarded research record — and applies all of it to everyday patient care, from skin cancer screening to aesthetic dermatology.
Education and academic career Prof. Kopp earned her doctorate in medicine at the University of Vienna in 1994. Between 1993 and 1997 she carried out her dissertation and a post-doctoral fellowship at the Harvard Skin Disease Research Center in Boston, one of the world's leading centres for skin research. She returned to Vienna for her specialist training in dermatology and venereology at the University Department of Dermatology, AKH Vienna (1997–2004), and in 2004 she was awarded the venia docendi and appointed Associate University Professor.
Hospital and clinical experience From 2004 to 2012 Prof. Kopp worked as a senior consultant (Oberärztin) at the University Department of Dermatology at AKH Vienna, where she was responsible for a hospital ward and headed the allergy outpatient clinic. In parallel she ran her own private practice at the Wiener Privatklinik. In 2007 she took part in an international healthcare management project involving the Medical University of Vienna, VAMED and the Prince Court Medical Centre in Malaysia.
JUVENIS Medical Center In October 2012 Prof. Kopp co-founded JUVENIS, a multidisciplinary medical centre at Trattnerhof 2 in Vienna's first district, and she has been its owner since 1 June 2021. JUVENIS brings dermatology together with internal medicine, cardiology, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, radiology and psychotherapy under one roof, so patients can see several specialists in one place.
Clinical focus Prof. Kopp's practice covers the full range of medical and aesthetic dermatology:
- Skin cancer screening and mole checks — early detection of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer
- Dermatologic surgery — removal of moles, warts and skin cancers
- Aesthetic dermatology — botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid treatments
- Laser medicine — skin rejuvenation, pigment spots, melasma, visible facial vessels
- Radiofrequency microneedling
- Allergy diagnosis and treatment
- Pigmentation disorders — melasma, solar lentigines
- Acne, rosacea and couperose
- Chemical peels and psoriasis therapy
Research and awards Prof. Kopp has published widely in skin immunology, psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, including work in Nature on the targeted treatment of psoriasis by blocking interleukin-23 (2015), in EMBO Molecular Medicine on the role of dendritic cell subsets in psoriasis (2014), and in the Journal of Experimental Medicine and the Journal of Investigative Dermatology. Her research has been recognised with the Heinrich Auspitz Prize of the Austrian Society of Dermatology and Venereology (2015), the Theodor Billroth Prize (2004) and the UNILEVER Prize (2003). She has held ISAC certification since 2022 (valid to 2026).
Her approach In her own words, attractiveness is "a successful cocktail of personality, charisma, presence, bearing and outer beauty" — a philosophy that shapes a treatment style aimed at natural, individually tailored results rather than a standard look.
Languages Prof. Kopp treats patients in German and English.
