My coordinator, Mariia, was absolutely fantastic. I can't praise her enough. Nothing was too much trouble; she was there for every query and took the stress out of the whole process. Waking up from surgery, I was personally visited by Professor Gemalmaz, whose skill as a surgeon is matched by his outstanding consideration and kindness. My procedure was for joint preservation, so no implant was used, and I'm feeling better than I expected so far. The clinic has stayed in touch. There will be further expenses for physiotherapy and medications, but both Bookimed and the professor helped keep these additional costs to a minimum. My advice for future patients at Sisli Memorial Hospital in Istanbul is to bring your passport and a credit card, as you may need it to pay for your discharge.
