How Much Does Ankle Arthroscopy Cost in China?

Ankle arthroscopy in China typically costs from $4,200 to $7,200. The final price depends on the hospital tier, surgeon expertise, and the complexity of the joint repair. In the US, this procedure costs $11,000 on average. Standard costs generally cover surgeon fees, anesthesia, surgical facility use, and basic orthopedic hardware required for the minimally invasive procedure.

  • Hospital tier. Private international hospitals in Shanghai or Beijing cost two–four times more than public tracks.
  • Surgical complexity. Simple debridement is more affordable than ligament stabilization or cartilage grafting techniques.
  • Clinical track. VIP wings in top-tier public hospitals offer English coordination at mid-range price points.
  • Post-operative care. Inpatient days and physical therapy sessions may require additional budgeting beyond the surgery.

Bookimed Expert Insight. Choosing a top-tier facility like Guangzhou Cihua Hospital offers unique value by combining modern orthopedics with traditional physical therapy. Expert surgeons like Chen Biao in Shanghai bring high-level academic credentials to arthroscopic care. Patients often benefit from high-volume centers that treat 30,000 patients annually. Professional translation and 1:one therapist-led exercises are common features in dedicated international departments.
