How Much Does Open heart surgery Cost in Pattaya?

Open heart surgery in Pattaya typically costs from $19,500 / ฿663,000 to $32,500 / ฿1,105,000. The total depends on the procedure type, hospital tier, and specific cardiac hardware used. Pattaya offers more competitive pricing than Bangkok for comparable JCI-standard facilities. In the US, similar procedures cost around $160,000 / ฿5,440,000 on average. Patients save around 72% compared to the US. Inclusions usually cover diagnostics, surgeon fees, anesthesia, and a 10-day recovery stay.

  • Atrial septal defect surgery: $14,800 / ฿503,200 to $14,800 / ฿503,200 for internal wall repairs.
  • Interventricular septal defect surgery: $18,400 / ฿625,600 to $34,500 / ฿1,173,000.
  • Robotic-assisted: Typically adds 20-30% over standard approach for minimally invasive heart surgery.
  • Drug-eluting stents: Adds 30-40% to baseline costs when choosing advanced alternatives over bare-metal options.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Pattaya serves as the primary cardiac center for Thailand's Eastern coast. Clinics here provide advanced cardiovascular care without the capital's typical surcharge. High-volume centers like Bangkok Hospital Pattaya are JCI-accredited and serve 400,000 patients annually. This massive scale allows for institutional expertise in complex cases. Choosing localized centers in resort areas often secures premium amenities at lower rates than central Bangkok.

Yasmina, my coordinator was very helpful in making my decision to have angioplasty on my lower limbs. She gave me options and worked with PMG Hospital the most to give me a very workable quote and to facilitate getting the procedure done within my limited timeframe. I found BMG Hospital to be very Foreign Patient oriented. I met first with staff to learn about the abilities for the hospital to preform the surgery and Vee their liaison, made communicating with the nurses and especially the doctor much easier. I found the staff, nurses and their support, including the kitchen, who made wonderful food which had nothing to do with the "Hospital Food" preconception. My Doctor was very knowledgeable and experienced with the procedure and preformed it well. His team gave me the confidence to have the surgery and made it run well. All in all I would like to thank Bookimed, the PMG Hospital and especially the Doctor and nurses for their outstanding work and care and now believe do to their efforts my life will now be longer and pain free. Looking forward to returning for my 6 month check up! And may I say the follow up care by Vee and his team with hotel visits and transportation to and from the Hospital were over the top!
If I were to add anything it would be to have the rest of the staff learn a little more basic English, they tried very hard and I know they were giving it their best and in the long run we figured it all out!
