How Much Does Aesthetic Composite Filling Cost in Thailand?

Aesthetic composite filling in Thailand typically costs from $200 / ฿6,800 to $400 / ฿13,600. Prices depend on the size of the cavity, the tooth location, and clinic technology. In the US, similar procedures cost around $1,100 / ฿37,400 on average. Patients traveling to Thailand can expect savings of approximately 73%. This treatment usually includes a dental consultation, local anesthesia, and the composite resin material.

  • Number of surfaces: Multi-surface fillings require more material and time than simple single-surface applications.
  • Medical hub locations: Major service centers include Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket.
  • Material quality: Premium resins from Japan or Europe may increase the final price.
  • Specialist expertise: Procedures performed by restorative dentists with international training may carry higher fees.

What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it
What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it. My biggest fear was not understanding the treatment plan or feeling rushed, but that wasn’t the case at all. The dentist was very patient and took the time to explain each step to me in detail. It was reassuring. The overall organisation ran smoothly and the whole clinic team were professional and happy to answer my questions. Coordination via Bookimed simplified the whole process, which helped reduce the stress of having a medical appointment abroad. I left with clear information and a good overall impression.

I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism
Hello everyone, like many other people before an operation, I wasn't feeling very well. The staff at the clinic immediately reassured and accompanied me. Believe me or not, I didn't feel a thing. The dental surgeon fitted the 2 implants in 40 minutes, and I had no infections whatsoever. My Bookimed advisor (Péguy) was with me from the start and is still with me today. I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism. Sylvain B.

The wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care
It is a clean hospital and the wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care. The dentist and dental personnel can speak fluent English which is important for most people like I. For wisdom teeth extraction the cost was 20000 baht for 4 teeth( including medication and nurse charge), but it all depends if the teeth has impacted. I would highly recommend the clinic.

FAQ about Aesthetic Composite Filling in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What is the procedure for an aesthetic composite filling in Thailand?

Aesthetic composite filling in Thailand is a same-day dental procedure completed in 1–2 hours. Specialists like Dr Dusita Anuwatmetee at SmileBox Dental Clinic use tooth-coloured resin to restore cavities or chips. The process includes shade matching and tooth preparation under local anaesthesia. The resin is cured with UV light for a natural finish.

  • Technique selection: Dentists match resin to natural teeth using precise shade guides for seamless results.
  • Preparation stage: Specialists clean the decayed area and etch the surface for strong bonding.
  • Layered application: Resin is applied in thin layers and cured with ultraviolet light for durability.
  • Final polishing: Practitioners shape and polish the filling to match the surrounding tooth enamel perfectly.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics like SOL Dental Clinic now use CAD/CAM technology and 3D scanning for restorative work. This digital approach provides more precise bite adjustment than traditional manual shaping. Australian patients often prefer these high-tech clinics in Bangkok for long-lasting results and clinical accuracy.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand appreciate the meticulous shade matching and the ability to combine fillings with whitening. They suggest asking for minimal-prep options to preserve natural tooth structure during the visit.

Are aesthetic composite fillings for teeth durable and natural-looking?

Aesthetic composite fillings are durable and look natural for front and back teeth. Modern nano-hybrid resins used by specialists in Thailand blend well with natural enamel. These resins resist daily wear. These fillings typically cost between $200 and $400.

  • Colour matching: Resin shades are customised to match existing enamel for invisible restorations.
  • Bonding strength: Composites bond directly to the tooth. This strengthens the remaining natural structure.
  • Quality materials: Clinics use premium brands like Dentsply Sirona for high lustre and retention.
  • Minimal preparation: Dentists preserve more healthy tooth tissue than traditional silver amalgam fillings.
  • Quick application: Most procedures are non-surgical and completed in one dental appointment.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s leading dental centres perform 10,000+ procedures annually. This gives clinicians exceptional experience with complex bonding. Specialists like Dr Woradej Pichaiaukrit at Edelweiss Dental House hold PhDs in biomaterials. This expertise in material science helps place fillings with precision to prevent secondary decay.

Patient Consensus: Fillings in Thailand are often described as undetectable and perfectly matched to natural tooth colour. Patients suggest requesting premium materials and following hygiene advice so restorations last for years.

What are the common side effects after getting a composite filling in Thailand?

Side effects after receiving composite fillings in Thailand generally involve temporary tooth sensitivity to temperature or pressure as the area settles. Common experiences include mild gum tenderness and bite discomfort. These issues typically resolve within a few days. Clinics like Kitcha Dental Clinic improve results through precise polishing and bite adjustments.

  • Temperature sensitivity: Temporary reaction to hot or cold foods lasting days to weeks.
  • Bite discomfort: Feeling that the filling is high, which dentists can quickly adjust.
  • Gum tenderness: Minor swelling around the injection site or the treated tooth area.
  • Chewing sensitivity: Short-lived sharp pain when releasing a bite while the filling settles.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Kitcha Dental Clinic and Deezy Dental Home serve 10,000+ patients annually. This volume creates high clinical proficiency. Data shows that many specialists, such as Dr Pawak Tungthangthum, hold American Dental Association (ADA) memberships. This alignment reduces risks of uneven bites or material allergies through the use of brands like Straumann.

Patient Consensus: Visitors to Thailand suggest staying a few extra days after the procedure. This allows time for a final bite check or polishing for complete comfort before flying home.

What is an aesthetic composite filling used for in Thailand clinics?

Aesthetic composite fillings in Thailand clinics use tooth-coloured resin to restore decayed teeth and enhance smiles. This material repairs chips, masks deep stains, and closes small gaps between teeth. Specialists match the resin shade to natural enamel for seamless results on visible teeth.

  • Restorative use: Removes decay and replaces cavities with resin rather than metal amalgam.
  • Cosmetic enhancement: Reshapes uneven edges or covers stubborn discolouration to improve appearance.
  • Diastema closure: Fills small spaces between teeth to create a more uniform smile.
  • Protective bonding: Covers exposed tooth roots caused by gum recession to reduce sensitivity.
  • Single-visit solution: Procedures typically finish in 1 hour with minimal recovery required.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like SmileBox and Kitcha Dental often use premium materials from Straumann or Dentsply Sirona. These brands offer better longevity and stain resistance than generic resins. Prices in Bangkok range from $200 to $400. This saves patients up to 73% compared to Australian averages.

Patient Consensus: Patients value how dentists in Thailand expertly match resin shades to existing teeth. Many appreciate receiving high-quality repairs for chips and wear during a single dental visit.

How long do I need to remain in Thailand for composite filling treatment?

Most patients only need to stay in Thailand for 1 day for a simple composite filling. The clinical procedure typically takes about 1 hour per tooth. For multiple restorations, a stay of 3 to 5 days is recommended to allow for bite adjustments.

  • Procedure time: Single fillings are usually completed in 1 hour during one clinic visit.
  • Recovery period: Patients can typically eat and drink normally once the local anaesthetic wears off.
  • Adjustment buffer: Staying for 2–3 days allows the dentist to reshape any fillings that feel high.
  • Clinical efficiency: High-volume centres like Kitcha Dental Clinic treat 10,000+ patients annually using same-day digital technologies.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics frequently use CAD/CAM and 3D scanning for precise margins on the first try. While a single visit is standard, clinics like SOL Dental Clinic suggest arriving mid-week. This confirms the dental lab and specialists are available for any refinements before the weekend.

Patient Consensus: Simple fillings are often finished in one session. It is wise to have a few spare days in Thailand for bite checks. Patients suggest asking for a next-day review if having multiple teeth treated at once.

Why should Australian patients consider Thailand for composite dental fillings?

Australian patients choose Thailand for composite dental fillings to access aesthetic restorations at $200 to $400. This provides up to 25% savings compared to the $400 Australian average. High-volume clinics in Bangkok and Chiang Mai offer same-day treatments using premium global brands.

  • Cost efficiency: Procedures cost between $200 and $400. This is significantly lower than Australian private clinics.
  • Specialist expertise: Surgeons like Dr Pawak Tungthangthum hold credentials from the American Dental Association.
  • Modern technology: Centres like SOL Dental use CAD/CAM and 3D scanning for precise dental restorations.
  • Clinical volume: Major facilities like Kitcha Dental Clinic serve over 10,000 international patients every year.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s leading dental hubs are moving beyond basic fillings to holistic smile plans. Data shows clinics like Kitcha Dental and SOL Dental now partner with Dentsply Sirona. This means Australians receive the same composite materials used in Melbourne or Sydney but at a fraction of the cost.

Patient Consensus: Patients often combine tooth-coloured restorations with a holiday to maximise value. They report that Thai clinics complete cosmetic work quickly for those on tight travel schedules. Most enjoy the spa-like atmosphere in Bangkok clinics which helps ease dental anxiety during treatment.
