Given the high level of professionalism and support they have provided, I am confident that I have chosen the right place
If you are considering stem cell therapy, here is my initial, first-hand experience. The care I received from the surgeon and the medical team was excellent, as was the organisation at the clinic. Everything went smoothly. It is very important to manage expectations at the outset; it is far too early to judge the final results, and I haven’t noticed any change yet in spontaneous erections. However, the most positive aspect so far is that the injection site feels completely normal and there is no discomfort, which makes the recovery period easy. Given the high level of professionalism and support they have provided, I am confident that I have chosen the right place.

Everything at Bumrungrad was above average, except the fact that they told me they d send me quotes on different procedures within 3 days and it took one full month and me pushing them 3 times in order to get these quotes. That is far from what anyone would expect from an hospital of this international standing. On the flip side though, the people from Bookimed were awesome and i was happily surprised by they re professionalism, presence and speed of response to any of my inquiry. I will recommend Bookimed's services to everyone i know that are in need. Keep it up Bookimed and all the best! :-)

FAQ about Revision circumcision in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the common reasons for needing a revision circumcision in Thailand?

Patients seek revision circumcision in Thailand to correct redundant foreskin, uneven scarring, or persistent medical issues. Specialists address complications like skin bridges, trapped debris, and painful erections. These reconstructive procedures restore functional comfort and a natural appearance for adults.

  • Redundant foreskin: Excess tissue remains, causing hygiene challenges or an unfinished look.
  • Phimosis treatment: Urologists at Menness Wellness Clinic report a 99.9% success rate.
  • Scar correction: Surgeons remove thick, irregular, or discoloured tissue for better contour.
  • Functional repair: Specialists like Dr Nuttaphon Luchaichana treat skin bridges or tightness.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many patients choose Thailand for revisions because Thai urologists specialise in adult reconstructive techniques. While a standard circumcision costs from $700, a revision is more complex. It typically starts from $1,200 to address existing scar tissue.

Patient Consensus: Many men find that initial conservative cuts leave too much skin. This makes a second procedure in Thailand necessary for a cleaner result. They suggest being specific with the urologist to avoid another suboptimal outcome.

What is involved in a revision circumcision procedure in Thailand?

Revision circumcision in Thailand involves corrective surgery to address issues from a previous procedure. These often include excess skin, uneven scarring, or discomfort. Thai board-certified urologists perform this reconstructive surgery under local or general anaesthesia. Procedures typically take under 60 minutes and follow strict international clinical standards.

  • Surgical techniques: Surgeons remove old scar tissue and reshape skin using precise sleeve techniques.
  • Clinical expertise: Specialists like Dr Nuttaphon Luchaichana at Menness Wellness Clinic use reconstructive urology methods.
  • Hospital stays: Most patients undergo outpatient surgery but should rest in Bangkok for several days.
  • Recovery timeline: Full healing and return to sexual activity usually takes 4 to 6 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Basic circumcision is common, but revision surgery requires higher reconstructive skill. Bookimed data shows that leading clinics like Menness Wellness Clinic provide specialized care. Their A$1,100 packages include post-operative care for proper wound healing.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand find the procedure straightforward. Many highlight that bandage removal can be sensitive. Secure flights and hotels early to allow time for wound checks before flying back to Australia.

What type of anaesthesia is used for revision circumcision in Thailand?

Revision circumcision in Thailand typically uses local anaesthesia with sedation or a spinal block. Board-certified urologists in Bangkok and Phuket perform these 10–30 minute surgeries. They correct cosmetic concerns or previous complications while patients remain relaxed or asleep.

  • Anaesthesia types: Specialists use local numbing, IV sedation, or spinal blocks for comfort.
  • Expert urologists: Surgeons like Dr Nuttaphon Luchaichana at Menness Wellness Clinic are Thailand board-certified specialists.
  • Surgical techniques: Modern laser or stapler methods reduce tissue trauma and speed up healing.
  • Hospital stay: Procedures are usually day surgeries. Patients can return to hotels immediately.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Basic circumcision often uses local numbing. Revision surgery is more complex. It often requires IV sedation or a spinal block for better precision. Clinics like Menness Wellness Clinic in Bangkok serve over 1,000 international patients annually. This includes many from Australia, maintaining high standards for these reconstructive cases.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand report that spinal blocks or general anaesthesia are frequently offered. These ensure comfort during genital procedures. Patients suggest checking if anaesthesia fees are in the package price. This helps avoid separate billing later.

What is the recovery process like after a revision circumcision in Thailand?

Recovery after revision circumcision in Thailand takes 4 to 6 weeks for complete healing. Patients typically feel the most discomfort during the first 5 days. Specialists like Dr Nuttaphon Luchaichana provide specific post-operative care. This helps manage swelling and scar tissue common in revision cases.

  • Short-term recovery: Initial swelling and bruising subside within 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Activity limits: Avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for at least 2 weeks.
  • Wound care: Dissolvable stitches usually disappear within 10 to 14 days.
  • Sexual abstinence: Patients must wait 4 to 6 weeks before resuming sexual activity.
  • Travel timing: Specialists recommend staying in Bangkok for 5 to 7 days for follow-up.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Revision procedures involve scar tissue, which requires precise urological expertise. Clinics like Menness Wellness Clinic have urologists from Siriraj Hospital. These doctors specialise in complex reconstructive cases. Booking a package with post-operative care helps manage sensitivity during the first week.

Patient Consensus: Men visiting Thailand note the first week involves significant tenderness. They advise moving slowly to protect stitches. Many suggest booking assistance for the flight home. Some recommend waiting up to 8 weeks for sexual activity.

How long do I need to plan to stay in Thailand for a revision circumcision?

Patients should plan for a 7 to 10-day stay in Thailand for a revision circumcision. This time includes the procedure and wound monitoring. It also covers a urologist follow-up to check healing before the flight home.

  • Clinic stay: Most procedures are performed as day surgeries with a few hours of observation.
  • Initial follow-up: Surgeons schedule a check-up 5–7 days post-op to monitor swelling and healing.
  • Surgical expertise: Specialists like Dr Nuttaphon Luchaichana at Menness Wellness Clinic perform reconstructive urologic procedures.
  • Safe travel: A 10-day buffer helps manage discomfort and reduces risks during the return flight.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic packages start at A$1,100, revision cases often require complex reconstructive work. High-volume Bangkok clinics often hold Royal College of Surgeons Thailand accreditation. This accreditation shows they meet international surgical standards for these intricate revisions.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand recommend a two-week stay to safely cover wound checks and swelling. Planning a full month provides a better buffer for a stress-free recovery before returning to Australia.

Why do patients travel to Thailand for a revision circumcision?

Patients choose Thailand for revision circumcision to access specialist urologists. These experts correct scarring, uneven skin, or functional discomfort from previous procedures. Board-certified specialists in Bangkok and Phuket provide reconstructive surgery from $1,200 to $2,000. This saves Australians up to 41% compared to local costs.

  • Surgical expertise: Top urologists like Dr Nuttaphon Luchaichana hold Thailand Board Certification for complex reconstructive work.
  • Cost efficiency: Revision prices typically range between $1,200 and $2,000 versus the $2,700 Australian average.
  • High success rates: Bangkok centres like Menness Wellness Clinic report 99.9% success for related penile treatments.
  • Accredited facilities: Premier clinics maintain high standards through the Royal College of Surgeons Thailand and JCI.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Initial circumcisions are routine, but revisions in Thailand are treated as high-precision cosmetic work. Clinics like Menness Wellness Clinic serve over 1,000 international patients annually, including many Australians. This high volume means surgeons handle complex tissue corrections daily. This often results in better aesthetic outcomes compared to general practitioners.

Patient Consensus: Many travellers view the trip to Thailand as a medical holiday to secure better aesthetic results. They recommend budgeting for extra recovery days in-country. This helps to ensure proper healing before the flight back to Australia.
