The team followed through on every detail discussed
Sitting in the consultation room while the surgeon explained the precise use of 50-100 million umbilical cord stem cells gave me a clear sense of the technical path ahead. Fifteen days after the treatment, I am already noticing some improvement in my overall physical state. The application was smooth, and I experienced no injection site reactions or inflammatory flare-ups afterward. Recovery is just beginning. Every interaction with the clinic staff was handled with professional efficiency, ensuring that the logistical side of the medical travel was as controlled as the procedure itself. It is important to stay patient during this early window while the body starts to respond to the cells. The team followed through on every detail discussed.
Josh and team had fantastic thorough communication
Not sure... give me extra stem cells. Maybe have more food?

It was a terrible experience which I never want to go through again. Upon arrival at the hospital, the consultant , Jeab who led me there was not present to receive me. Instead I was attended by the medical sstaff who flatly shot down the agreed quotations offered by Jeab and even said they do not need the VDO anymore so they could not offer me what Jeab did and I was told I had to pay 3 times the proce of what I was offered before. Consequent to the price dispute, there were lots of bleak moments between the consultant and the medical staff internally then I was made to wait for over two hours then they suddenly reversed to ask for VDO compromised on an agreed price. I repeated said no to revealing my face for the VDO and the secretary Kimmy assured me my face will not be shown on camera. Prior to seeing the doctor, I was told to made payment first. For every doctor consultation, I had to go to the cashier to complete the payment and I was seeing two different doctors meant I had to repeat same process twice touring the entire medical centre so many times. What was most stupid was that I was never informed that I had to pay out of pocket for the Covid-9 test which I deem really unfair when there was konsixh prior information and they just dumped all the hidden cost on me. I only did the arm Vader+body tite along with pick laser for vaginal and I was made to go from building to building spending 7 hours there the entire day is really uncalled for!!!

FAQ about Stem cell therapy for heart disease in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the risks associated with stem cell therapy for heart disease in Thailand?

Stem cell therapy for heart disease in Thailand carries risks like heart muscle bleeding, immune rejection, and tumour formation. Many treatments are experimental or unregulated, increasing uncertainty about safety and long-term effects. Accredited cardiac centres in Bangkok and Phuket may offer better oversight.

  • Procedural risks: left ventricular perforation and uneven heart muscle motion.
  • Tumour risk: uncontrolled stem cell growth can cause teratomas or cancers.
  • Immune rejection: donor cells (allogeneic) may provoke an immune response.
  • Regulatory concerns: therapies may lack rigorous clinical trials or approvals.
  • Patient suitability: advanced heart failure cases may not benefit from the treatment.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics like The Demarest Clinic use Ministry-sanctioned allogeneic stem cell therapy with controlled lab protocols, showing improved safety. Senior Cardiologist Dr Ratanapunt Incharoensakdi in Bangkok has performed 5,000+ cardiac stem treatments. This shows experienced specialists focus on careful patient selection and oversight. Higher-rated Bangkok centres tend to have established cardiac teams and better success rates.

Patient Consensus: Patients report many Thai stem cell therapies lack scientific proof and may cause serious risks like tumours or immune reactions. Those who chose accredited centres felt safer but stress verifying clinical evidence first. Most recommend consulting a local cardiologist and avoiding treatments outside approved clinical trials.

What types of stem cells are used for treating heart disease with stem cell therapy in Thailand?

Stem cell therapy for heart disease in Thailand mainly uses autologous mesenchymal stem cells from fat tissue. Clinics also apply lab-grown umbilical cord and cerebellum-derived mesenchymal stem cells, combined with platelet-rich plasma. These treatments are experimental and not yet proven effective for heart repair.

  • Autologous mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs): Derived from patient fat tissue. They promote heart tissue repair.
  • Non-frozen umbilical cord and cerebellum-derived MSCs: Lab-cultured, currently preclinical for heart disease.
  • Platelet-rich plasma (PRP): Used with stem cells to boost regeneration and reduce inflammation.
  • Delivery methods: Intravenous infusion or local cardiac injection of stem cells.
  • Allogeneic therapies: Available at specialised clinics combining umbilical cord and amniotic fluid MSCs.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Most Thai clinics focus on autologous MSCs from fat, as they offer easier harvesting and lower rejection risks. The Demarest Clinic uses Thailand’s first Health Ministry-approved allogeneic stem cell therapy, blending umbilical cord and amniotic MSCs, showing a commitment to research-backed protocols uncommon elsewhere in Thailand.

Patient Consensus: Australian patients find these treatments experimental and urge caution. Most agree traditional cardiology remains best. Stem cell therapy in Thailand is seen as hopeful but unproven, with clinical trials abroad preferred for safer, monitored care.

How are stem cells administered during stem cell therapy for heart disease in Thailand?

Stem cells for heart disease in Thailand are mainly given by intravenous (IV) infusion, allowing cells to reach the heart through blood flow. Some clinics experiment with inhalation methods, but IV remains the key delivery approach. This treatment targets regenerating damaged heart tissue with cells from umbilical cord or bone marrow.

  • IV infusion
  • Experimental inhalation method present
  • Stem cells often from umbilical cord or bone marrow
  • Administered at specialised cardiac and regenerative centres in Bangkok and Phuket
  • Some protocols involve multiple-stage delivery to improve cell homing

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s stem cell clinics focus on non-invasive IV infusion, making the procedure more accessible. Clinics like The Demarest Clinic in Phuket use AABB-certified cell culture processes and lab-led activation, offering a quality edge. Bangkok's Longa Heart Health Medical Center combines stem cell therapy with heart care innovations, showing rising integration of regenerative and cardiology treatments.

Patient Consensus: Patients recommend checking the exact delivery method and cell type before treatment. Thai centres treat many international patients, with clear communication and cardiologist consultations emphasised for best results.

What is included in the treatment package for stem cell therapy for heart disease in Thailand?

Stem cell therapy packages for heart disease in Thailand typically include diagnostics, multiple stem cell injections, and hospital monitoring. Clinics often use umbilical cord-derived allogeneic cells prepared over about five days. Treatments may require three sessions with IV or muscular injections, plus specialised follow-up and support.

  • Pre-treatment tests: cardiac exams and blood work to assess heart condition.
  • Stem cell sources: mostly donor-derived mesenchymal cells from umbilical cords.
  • Treatment method: non-surgical IV or intramuscular stem cell injections.
  • Hospital stay: varies; some clinics require minimal inpatient monitoring.
  • Aftercare: follow-up consultations and coordination services may be provided.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s stem cell centres like The Demarest Clinic lead with allogeneic umbilical cord cells, offering up-to-date protocols and AABB-certified processing. Packages often exclude spinal injections or long hospital stays, so confirming what’s included is key. Bangkok clinics also blend regenerative care with cardiac rehab, giving more holistic recovery options.

Patient Consensus: Patients value Thailand’s advanced cell techniques but advise checking exactly what treatments and sessions are included. Many found treatments took about five days for cell prep, with multiple sessions needed. Australian patients recommend discussing plans with local cardiologists before travel.

How do clinics in Thailand ensure the quality of stem cells used in heart disease treatment?

Thailand ensures stem cell quality for heart disease through strict regulations, GMP-certified labs, and clinical evaluations. Facilities like The Demarest Clinic use AABB-certified processes for culturing and preserving cells. Ongoing pharmacovigilance tracks treatment safety and effectiveness under Health Ministry oversight.

  • Regulatory bodies: Thai FDA and Medical Council enforce stem cell therapy rules.
  • Lab standards: GMP and AABB certifications maintain cell purity and potency.
  • Clinical oversight: Preclinical and clinical trials validate safety and effectiveness.
  • Pharmacovigilance: Continuous monitoring of patient outcomes ensures lasting safety.
  • Notable clinics: The Demarest Clinic pioneers advanced allogeneic stem cell protocols.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics with lab certifications like AABB signal better stem cell quality control. The Demarest Clinic in Phuket stands out for using updated global protocols and satellite labs dedicated to cellular treatments, a big plus for Australians wanting reliable regenerative care in Thailand.

Patient Consensus: Australians value treatment transparency and lab standards but warn about scarce public quality control data. Many recommend reviewing peer-reviewed research and discussing stem cell purity with local doctors before travelling to Thailand.

How long can stem cells be stored and where are they kept for heart disease treatment in Thailand?

Stem cells for heart disease treatment in Thailand are stored in cryogenic facilities at around -196°C, maintaining their viability for 21 years or longer. Leading clinics and banks in Bangkok and Phuket use liquid nitrogen tanks with strict quality checks to preserve stem cells.

  • Storage duration: Typically 21 years, potentially indefinite under cryogenic conditions.
  • Storage sites: Specialised stem cell banks and regenerative medicine centres in Bangkok and Phuket.
  • Cryopreservation method: Cells frozen in liquid nitrogen tanks at -196°C to keep them functional.
  • Quality assurance: Includes viability, mononuclear cell, CD34+, and mesenchymal cell counts before freezing.
  • Notable clinics: The Demarest Clinic in Phuket uses AABB-certified protocols and on-site labs for cell preservation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many Thai centres offering stem cell therapy combine clinical services with direct control over storage, like The Demarest Clinic’s on-site lab in Phuket. This setup ensures fresher cells and tighter quality checks. Australian patients should ask for certification and clinic-specific storage details before booking.

Patient Consensus: Patients say Thai clinics provide professional, carefully monitored stem cell storage. They recommend confirming storage methods and treatment phases, especially since heart disease stem cell therapy can be experimental in Thailand.

Can I smoke or drink alcohol during stem cell therapy for heart disease in Thailand?

Smoking and drinking alcohol are strongly discouraged during stem cell therapy for heart disease in Thailand. Tobacco and alcohol harm stem cell activity and slow healing. This risks the therapy’s success. Most clinics recommend avoiding both at least 48 hours before and 72 hours after treatment.

  • Smoking impact: Nicotine impairs stem cell function and heart healing.
  • Alcohol effect: High intake reduces healthy stem cells and disrupts recovery.
  • Clinic protocols: Guidelines usually instruct no smoking or drinking near treatment.
  • Heart health: Mediterranean diet and light exercise aid therapy outcomes.
  • Expert care: Cardiologists in Thailand provide personalised pre- and post-therapy advice.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s leading stem cell clinics, like The Demarest Clinic, use up-to-date protocols from global research and strictly control lifestyle factors. Patients gain better results when following pre-treatment restrictions on smoking and alcohol for safer cell engraftment and recovery.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand say avoiding smoking and alcohol helped them heal faster and protect heart function. Many highlight clear clinic instructions and lifestyle tips that supported a smooth recovery process.
