How Much Does Dialysis Cost in Antalya ?

Dialysis in Antalya typically costs from $200 to $400 per session. The price depends on the filtration technique, clinic type, and included logistical services. Antalya generally provides more competitive pricing for international travelers than Istanbul. In the US, similar procedures cost around $800 on average. Patients save around 63% compared to the US. Sessions usually include the procedure, nephrologist consultation, and hotel-to-clinic transfers.

  • Standard hemodialysis: $200 to $400 for basic filtration at specialized holiday centers.
  • Hemodiafiltration: Typically adds 15-25% to the standard session cost for advanced filtration efficiency.
  • Multidisciplinary hospital care: Often costs more due to JCI-accredited safety protocols and comprehensive emergency backup.
  • Diagnostic blood work: Budget approximately 10-15% extra if current lab results are not provided.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Antalya stands out from Istanbul by specializing in "holiday dialysis" packages for international tourists. Expert nephrologists like Havva Asuman Yavuz balance high-volume clinical practice with international research backgrounds. Clinics like Memorial Antalya Hospital leverage JCI accreditation to provide safety standards equivalent to Western Europe. Choosing a resort-based center often results in complimentary luxury transfers, which standalone city clinics rarely offer.

In addition to the translator Maksut who was provided, I did not like ANYTHING! The analyzes that came out in 47 thousand, just a general analysis of urine, blood, ultrasound. I thought it was normal for Turkey to find out that it was a waste of money! Neurologist consultation $ 200, but in fact nothing sensible was said .How a fool provided those analyzes, and the diagnosis that was provided in Russia. The doctor just confirmed it, and did not say anything. No information special. And this is me about the Nephrologist. you already take a taxi at the specified time at the consultation, and you cancel there. And there, for 2 days in a row .70 thousand was thrown into the wind simply! And I am very sorry!

The recommended nephrologist is treating it the old fashioned way with prednisolone. He prescribed blood thinners before the biopsy, so I had to postpone the procedure for a week. And just lying in hospital is 800 euros a day.

FAQ about treatment in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Can tourists receive dialysis in Antalya?

Tourists can receive dialysis in Antalya at specialized holiday dialysis centers and JCI-accredited hospitals. These facilities have English-speaking staff and can arrange transport. Expect to pay between $200 and $400 per session. That’s about 63% savings compared to US averages.

  • Treatment options: Centers offer in-center hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis for chronic kidney disease.
  • Specialized expertise: Surgeons like Associate Professor Havva Asuman Yavuz provide nephrology and critical care.
  • Facility standards: Top hospitals like Memorial Antalya Hospital maintain Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation.
  • Patient logistics: Clinics often provide free hotel transfers from Lara, Belek, and Konyaaltı areas.

Bookimed Expert Insight: People may think only of specialized dialysis centers. However, choosing a multidisciplinary hospital like Memorial Antalya Hospital provides an extra layer of safety. These facilities are the first in Turkey licensed for organ transplants, so expert nephrologists are always on-site should complications arise during your holiday treatment.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize booking slots 4–6 weeks in advance. That’s because popular coastal clinics fill up during peak season. Most travelers recommend coordinating directly through your home clinic social worker. That way, your medical reports and serology results meet Turkish requirements.

What types of dialysis are available in Antalya?

Antalya provides dialysis options including hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration, and high-flux dialysis at specialized centers. Facilities use modern technology like Fresenius 4008S and BRAUN DIALOG machines. Patients can receive peritoneal dialysis and single-needle techniques in hospitals and private clinics.

  • Hemodialysis (HD): Standard in-center treatment using diffusion for toxin removal.
  • Hemodiafiltration (HDF): Combines diffusion and convection for solute clearance.
  • Holiday dialysis: Specialized tourist services including hotel transfers and multilingual support.
  • Peritoneal dialysis: Available for patients needing continuous ambulatory or automated cycles.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Antalya centers focus on travel flexibility by operating six days weekly. Some clinics provide dedicated private nurses for Hepatitis B or C patients. This ensures high safety standards without excluding travelers with complex chronic conditions.

Patient Consensus: Travelers appreciate the door-to-door shuttle services from Lara and Konyaalti. Patients often highlight the comfort of receiving treatments while keeping their vacation schedules.

What is included in a typical dialysis session in Antalya?

A typical dialysis session in Antalya includes 4-hour hemodialysis treatment supervised by nephrologists in JCI-accredited facilities. Standard packages bundle medical supervision, modern equipment, multilingual nursing care, and private transfers. Patients can save about 63% compared to the US average cost of $800.

  • Medical supervision: Sessions include oversight by Associate Professors like Havva Asuman Yavuz.
  • Duration: The machine runs for 3.5 to 4 hours per visit.
  • Treatment comfort: Facilities provide reclining chairs, satellite TV, and free Wi-Fi access.
  • Logistics: Free airport and hotel transfers are standard at top Antalya hospitals.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Basic sessions cost $200. But a center like Memorial Antalya Hospital is also licensed for liver and kidney transplants. That level of expertise means higher safety standards for international dialysis patients who need a stable, high-volume care environment.

Patient Consensus: The full appointment takes more than 4 hours because of check-ins and vitals. Treatment starts with a quick pinch during connection. After that, you rest while the machine filters your blood.

How do I arrange holiday dialysis in Antalya?

To arrange holiday dialysis in Antalya, select a licensed center and book 3 months in advance. You must provide a medical passport and recent serology results. Clinics often have English-speaking staff and free hotel transfers. This helps international renal travelers get seamless treatment during their vacation.

  • Clinic selection: Choose centers like IDC Antalya or Fresenius Medical Care for holiday dialysis.
  • Medical documentation: Submit recent Hepatitis B, C, and HIV serology results before arrival.
  • Transport services: Clinics often provide free shuttle transfers from Lara, Kundu, and Kemer hotels.
  • Session inclusions: Treatments typically include Fresenius machines, HDF options, local medications, and light refreshments.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Though clinics often offer free transfers, staying in Lara or Kundu is most convenient. Clinics in these districts often have the most international patients. This means staff are experienced in coordinating with foreign insurance providers for reimbursement. Always verify machine brands like Fresenius or Braun when booking for compatibility.

Patient Consensus: Patients often mention the stress-free experience of the hotel-to-clinic transfers. Most travelers find comfort in the modern equipment and attentive care from English-speaking medical teams.

Is transportation provided to the dialysis clinic in Antalya?

Dialysis clinics in Antalya provide free transportation for international patients. It typically covers transfers between the clinic and hotels in main tourist zones. Some centers offer wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Others provide 24/7 private ambulance services for patients who need stretcher transfers or medical supervision during the trip.

  • Service zones: Free transport covers the tourist areas of Kundu, Lara, Konyaaltı, Beldibi, Göynük, and Kemer.
  • Vehicle types: Clinics provide standard shuttles, disability-access vehicles, and private 24/7 ambulances.
  • Clinic transfers: JCI-accredited facilities like Memorial Antalya Hospital include free airport transfers for international patients.
  • Scheduling: Transport usually requires advance notice and may depend on specific dialysis appointment times.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many Antalya centers provide free hotel transfers, the best value lies in clinics like Memorial Antalya Hospital. It combines Joint Commission International accreditation with nephrologists trained in Italy. The hospital serves over 1.6 million patients annually, so its transport logistics are highly reliable compared to smaller, independent centers.

Patient Consensus: Patients recommend confirming return pickup times right when they arrive. For locations outside main zones, local taxi apps like BiTaksi or Yandex.Go offer a reliable alternative for regular treatments.

Are dialysis clinics in Antalya modern and clean?

Dialysis clinics in Antalya keep high hygiene standards and modern technology. Most have Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. Clinics use water purification systems and modern machines like the Fresenius 5008. This helps provide safe care that meets international standards for traveling patients.

  • Sterility standards: Clinics use single-use dialyzers and endotoxin filters for safety.
  • Advanced equipment: Facilities feature Fresenius 4008S and B. Braun Dialog machines.
  • Patient comfort: Centers provide ergonomic chairs, international TV channels, and free WiFi access.
  • Specialized staffing: Units are led by nephrologists with international fellowships and multilingual nurses.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Private centers focus on holiday amenities. Hospital-based units like Memorial Antalya Hospital, however, offer deeper safety nets. Their JCI accreditation and on-site transplant departments provide more medical oversight. This is especially valuable for patients with complex histories who need more than standard filtration.

Patient Consensus: Patients recommend asking for recent photos of treatment rooms and bathrooms before arrival. They also report that the clinical environments are very professional. However, communication is easiest at centers with dedicated international coordinators.

Do staff at dialysis clinics in Antalya speak English or other foreign languages?

Dialysis clinics in Antalya provide language support including English, German, and Russian to serve the large number of international tourists. Major facilities like Memorial Antalya Hospital offer specialized translation services and dedicated interpreters. This makes sure communication is clear during treatments and consultations.

  • Medical staff: Doctors often have high English proficiency through international training and certifications.
  • Translation services: JCI-accredited hospitals provide professional interpreters for Russian, German, and English speakers.
  • Specialized facilities: International dialysis chains in Antalya typically employ coordinators who work specifically with foreign patients.
  • Nursing support: Nursing staff frequently use basic English or translation tools for routine care.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data suggests you focus on JCI-accredited hospitals over smaller clinics if you lack a translator. Large centers like Memorial Antalya Hospital manage over 1.6 million patients annually. They also provide a 5-star guest house. So staff are professionally trained to handle diverse language needs, unlike local neighborhood units.

Patient Consensus: Patients find that doctors speak excellent English. However, Russian is often more widely understood by support staff in Antalya clinics. Most suggest using a translation app for complex requests. But they confirm that routine dialysis procedures proceed smoothly without major language barriers.
