Prof. Avichai Shimoni, MD, is Director of Bone Marrow Transplantation at Sheba Medical Center. He is a hemato-oncologist with over 30 years of experience in bone marrow transplantation, cellular therapies, and advanced blood cancer care.

He leads a high-volume program for complex, high-risk blood cancers. He performs allogeneic and autologous transplants. He also provides CAR T-cell therapy for leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. He completed a bone marrow transplantation fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Osman Aktas has been serving as a general surgeon at Ataşehir Avicenna Hospital since 2005. Born in Kayseri in 1960, he graduated with his medical degree from Ankara University in 1983. Following his graduation, he fulfilled his military service in medical units for two years. He completed his general surgery residency at GATA from 1986 to 1990. Dr. Hilmi Apak is a respected pediatric hematology-oncology specialist with more than 21 years of experience. He is trained in pediatric oncology. Dr. Apak has led advanced treatments, including bone marrow transplantation, leukemia chemotherapy, and CAR T-cell therapy.

He has published 75 international medical articles, showing his strong contribution to pediatric oncology research. Dr. Apak has worked as assistant editor for the Turkish Pediatrics Archives Periodical. He has also held important academic and leadership positions, such as Head of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa.

The doctor completed specialization training in Radiation Oncology at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine from 2012 to 2016. Prior to this, the doctor completed an undergraduate degree in Medicine, taught in English, at the same institution from 2004 to 2011. The doctor has a strong foundation in medical education, beginning with high school education at Sixteen Numbered Shirvan School in Azerbaijan from 1998 to 2004.

Professor Birol Baytan leads pediatric hematology at Emsey Hospital. He uses tumor marker blood tests to track childhood cancers and blood disorders.
