My experience with the doctor was not satisfactory. During the assessment, I felt that the comments focused more on criticizing my body than on offering respectful, professional medical guidance. I believe a good specialist should provide trust, empathy, and a human approach, especially on issues that can affect the patient’s self-esteem. I appreciate the time spent, but I think it’s important to improve how communication is handled with patients, avoiding personal judgments and focusing more on medical support and constructive guidance. 👎. ( I didn’t want to have surgery; he absolutely didn’t give me any confidence. )

I’m continuing the previous review (Eva Rodríguez), but with another account, so I can explain everything. If I had known all of this, I would have decided not to undergo surgery, or I would have done it with support and with a planned care plan for a longer period of time. When I requested these types of care in the countries I visited a few weeks later for work, and was seen by other expert doctors in this area, I received bad references about what had been done to me. They asked for detailed information about the procedure, so I requested a call with Dr. Burgos, who agreed without any problems. The problem came when I told them what was happening: the poor results and the consequences in my abdomen that I was experiencing. I needed all the information in order to be treated. Although my tone was gentle, I can understand that they may have felt bad about receiving this information, and for that reason they quickly tried to show the change in a very anxious way—raising their voice and telling me it wasn’t noticeable because I hadn’t wanted to lift my cheekbones. Yet, some time earlier I had written to the doctor, telling her specifically whether I should get that lifting done, and she told me it wasn’t necessary and that, in any case, I could lift my eyelids. I have to say it really hurt me to experience the altered way in which Dr. Montes Hoyos began showing me each of the doctor’s diplomas, trying to justify her professionalism. She also claimed that my problem was a childhood trauma, and when I asked her to breathe and help us understand each other, she threw the phone onto the armchairs in her office. Dr. Montes Hoyos, with all my heart I tell you: people’s mental health is respected and it is never used as a shield. Clients should be spoken to calmly and be given all the information we require. However, I must congratulate the team that works in the clinic, because it was the receptionist and the nurse who ended up taking care of me. Sandra, the receptionist, explained in detail everything I needed and informed me that I could request my medical file in the operating theaters. She even followed up after my request. I hope and wish I’m an isolated case in the history of this clinic, and that for the rest of the clients everything is excellent, starting with the treatment and the information.

DISAPPOINTING. Although more than 3 months have passed, I still don’t see any results on my face. It took me a long time to write this review, and even now it makes me feel bad to do it. After thinking it through, I feel it is only fair to write it to prevent someone else from going through the same thing, and I also do it out of self-respect. I had my first consultation in April with Dr. Montes Hoyos (the right-hand woman and wife of Dr. Burgos). She told me that fat transfer to the face was a simple procedure and that I only needed that, or at most, an eyelid lift of the upper lid. I traveled again to Colombia for the procedure, and that’s when the complications began: - I had to undergo more tests than I had originally been told to do (some of them expensive). - They only allowed me to pay in cash, something I had never been told, and it caused me a lot of problems. Fortunately, they arranged a dollars account for me to send part of the payment by bank transfer. - I WAS NOT INFORMED THAT THE PROCEDURE WOULD INVOLVE GENERAL ANESTHESIA AND THAT I HAD TO GO ACCOMPANIED. I traveled to Colombia alone, completely unaware of this. At some point, the doctor signed as my accompanying person, but I never saw her. - When I woke up after the operation, neither the doctor nor the doctor’s wife came into the room to explain how the procedure went or to see how I was doing. - They didn’t tell me that I would have incisions in the groin that would bleed and would require sanitary material for their care—material I could have bought in advance. I found myself alone, unable to lower my head because of the operation, bleeding from the groin, which meant my entire legs would get stained up to my feet. - I was not told that, after the operation, I would need to spend a considerable amount of time there for follow-up visits. From the start, I was told everything was very simple, and I trusted that, so in the end I had to cancel trips, which is what this meant for me. - They also didn’t provide specific information about the care I needed to have after the procedure at the area where they removed the fat (abdomen). If I had known all of this, I would have decided not to have the surgery or would have done it with someone accompanying me, with a care plan already scheduled for a longer period of time. (I continue the review in another space because it no longer allows me to keep writing.)
