Dr. Shen Yuqin, MD, PhD, is Professor and Chief Physician at Shanghai Tongji Hospital. Dr. Shen directs the Rehabilitation Medicine Center and the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department. A doctoral supervisor and National Advanced Worker, Dr. Shen is a pioneer in cardiac rehabilitation for heart failure.
Dr. Shen was the first in China to implement cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET)-guided rehabilitation for heart failure. Dr. Shen also introduced the use of the anaerobic threshold to prescribe exercise intensity. The team created a nationwide hospital–community–home closed-loop model. Dr. Shen is the principal investigator of two NSFC General Projects.
