We are very grateful for the small chance that these doctors gave us
We received a detailed consultation with Dr. Pelles Sharon and her assistant Denis. They explained everything, gave me a treatment plan, and the doctor was very attentive to details. We are very grateful for the small chance that these doctors gave us. I would also like to note the work of the coordinator, Yulia. A very sensitive, empathetic specialist, she was able to organize everything quickly. Thanks a lot!

I recommend
The staff is great. At the moment, we are waiting for the results of the tests, since the wrong diagnosis was made in Ukraine. In Ukraine, sarcoma was treated for 7 months and it is gone. We are not saying that there is no oncology, but the fact that there is no sarcoma is already pleasing. Received very nicely and politely. The coordinators are Russian-speaking. Every day they keep track of all matters. Those who passed the tests were not left alone for a single minute. Currently, we are waiting for a meeting with an oncologist and a radiologist. I recommend

"He is extremely impressed with the quality of medical care, the attention of professors Daniel Shuval, Alan Bloom, Ayal Hubert and their colleagues
Hello! My husband was treated at the University Hospital Hadassah. He has liver cancer. He is extremely impressed with the quality of medical care, the attention of professors Daniel Shuval, Alan Bloom, Ayal Hubert and their colleagues. He is grateful for the care of him. We had the opportunity to choose treatment in 5 leading hospitals in the world. And we are glad that by choosing HADASS we made the best and the right choice. Because this hospital has world-class medical care. But this would not have happened if it had not been for the wonderful organization and work of the specialists from the International Department who have been helping us all the time. With all my heart I thank everyone who helped and continues to help Pavel Kalchev in his fight against cancer. I wish all HADASS specialists health. Health for their families. In general, I am very pleased with this opportunity
I was advised to do a glass review, at first they turned to Germany and they did not confirm the diagnosis there, but there were doubts about the diagnosis and Israel was the third country, which turned out to be the right decision. I believe that this feature is very useful, since the diagnosis is not comic and you need to deal with the revision of the blocks. Coordinator Anastasia helped, very quickly found the people who transported our glasses, in this regard, many thanks. In general, I am very pleased with this opportunity.

-I was lucky that I went to the website "Bukimed"
I'll start with the most important thing. The most important thing in a huge sea of information is to choose the right "light", "lighthouse", which will point the way to a person who finds himself in this abyss with a limited time and money limit. I was lucky that I went to the website "Bukimed". I was contacted by coordinating physician Ivan Koval, who was very tactful and at the same time confidently leading me forward. I rushed from one clinic to another, from one operator to another, he calmly explained to me all the pros and cons and was support even when I already completely refused his help and tuned in to another operator. Even then, he very tactfully warned about possible pitfalls and continued to be an assistant. As a result, I took his advice and did not regret it. Hi Medical is very sympathetic to customers, helps with everything, tries to reduce customer costs, where possible. Organizes as quickly as possible consultations and time-examination. Special thanks to Victoria, who spins like a squirrel in a wheel to keep everything in order, always in touch and will not rest until the matter is brought to an end. My treatment is not yet complete, but I'm glad that I got into such a nice team, which brightens up, as much as possible, a person's life one-to-one with his illness. Thank you and for a healthy sense of humor, it also helps to overcome illness!))) And, still. Ivan was in touch with me throughout his stay in Israel. He was convinced that I flew, I was met and I was engaged. He made sure that I get everything that was promised. And after my return home, too, remains in touch, helping in my next steps. Thanks for the help!

FAQ about Oncology in Israel

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

International patients in Israel access advanced oncological treatments including CAR-T cell therapy, Da Vinci robotic surgery, and CyberKnife radiosurgery. JCI-accredited centers like Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov) and Hadassah Medical Center provide specialized care for complex cases. These facilities report an average 90% success rate for oncology patients.

  • Surgical precision: Surgeons use the Da Vinci Xi robotic system for prostate and GI cancers.
  • Advanced biologics: Clinics provide CAR-T cell, TIL therapy, and immunotherapy with Keytruda (Pembolizumab).
  • Radiation expertise: Options include CyberKnife, SIRT therapy, and proton therapy for pediatric brain tumors.
  • Specialized diagnostics: Facilities perform PET-CT, whole-body MRI, and genomic testing for personalized treatment plans.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Israeli medical centers often function as research hubs where patients gain access to clinical trials for rare cancers. For example, Dr. Pelles Sharon at Sourasky Medical Center integrates clinical research into systemic digestive cancer treatments. This allows patients to receive innovative therapies that are not yet widely available in other countries.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that arriving with previous test results speeds up the process, though many find that Israeli doctors often re-run diagnostics to ensure absolute accuracy. They emphasize that having Russian or English-speaking coordinators present during every test and consultation makes the complex medical journey feel much more manageable.

Israeli oncologists ensure safety through mandatory JCI accreditation and a 90% oncology success rate at leading centers. Every case undergoes multidisciplinary tumor board reviews involving surgery, radiology, and pathology. Specialists like Dr. Pelles Sharon and Dr. David Sarid follow strict international ESMO and ASCO treatment protocols.

  • Multidisciplinary boards: Teams of specialists review every case before starting any intensive treatment plan.
  • Strict medication oversight: Hospital pharmacists perform mandatory dose verification and drug interaction checks for all protocols.
  • Advanced diagnostics: High-resolution PET/CT and MRI provide precise staging to avoid unnecessary surgical interventions.
  • Clinical research integration: Patients gain early access to Phase II/III trials for advanced immunotherapy options.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data from Sourasky Medical Center shows a high volume of over 400,000 annual patients. This massive clinical experience allows doctors to identify rare side effects earlier than smaller facilities. Their 90% success rate is directly tied to using the Da Vinci Xi system, the only one of its kind in Israel.

Patient Consensus: Patients note the detailed informed consent process makes them feel in control. Many shoppers traveling from abroad find it reassuring that Israeli doctors openly encourage and facilitate second opinions within their network.

The oncology work-up in Israel typically concludes within 1 to 4 weeks. Diagnostics including PET-CT or biopsies take 1 to 7 days. A multidisciplinary tumor board reviews cases within 1 week. Treatment usually begins 1 to 2 weeks after the final plan is confirmed.

  • Initial work-up: Diagnostic scans and biopsies are completed within 1 to 7 days.
  • Expert review: Multidisciplinary tumor boards typically provide treatment protocols within 1 week.
  • Surgical timeline: If surgery is required, it is generally scheduled within 2 to 3 weeks.
  • Therapy initiation: Chemotherapy or radiation sessions often start 1 to 2 weeks after planning.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Israeli centers like Sourasky Medical Center prioritize rapid diagnostic turnaround to support their 90% success rate. Data shows that specialized centers performing 34,000+ operations annually use in-house labs to bypass external delays. This integration often compresses the discovery-to-treatment window by several days compared to smaller facilities.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that staying proactive with hospital portals helps track tumor board dates. Many emphasize that choosing private diagnostic options can significantly speed up the initial testing phase.

Patients typically stay in Israel for 14 to 28 days to complete initial oncology diagnostics and treatment planning. Complex cases requiring specialized genomic testing or surgeries like the Whipple procedure may extend this timeframe. Many JCI-accredited centers in Tel Aviv offer telehealth for long-term follow-up care.

  • Diagnostic phase: Initial PET-CT and consultations usually require 3 to 7 days.
  • Surgical recovery: Hospital stays for major procedures range from 1 to 5 days.
  • Hotel stay: Most treatment packages recommend 3 to 7 days in nearby accommodation.
  • Testing buffer: Advanced genomic or NGS testing can add 5 to 7 days.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data from Sourasky Medical Center shows a pattern where patients save time by choosing centers with in-house specialized labs. This allows doctors like Dr. Pelles Sharon to adjust treatment plans within 48 hours of testing. Choosing clinics that offer integrated transfers and translation also reduces the diagnostic window by at least 2 days.

Patient Consensus: Patients note it is smart to plan for a 4-week stay to account for unexpected testing delays. Many suggest arranging remote follow-ups early to avoid staying in Israel longer than necessary for routine monitoring.

Israeli oncology centers provide comprehensive language support and dedicated international departments to assist global patients. Facilities like Sourasky Medical Center and Hadassah Medical Center employ bilingual coordinators. These specialists manage medical translations, appointment scheduling, and logistics. Concierge services often include airport transfers and accommodation assistance.

  • Language support: Coordinators at Sourasky speak English, Russian, and Spanish for seamless communication.
  • Concierge packages: Assuta Medical Center offers VIP packages including hotel arrangements and priority scheduling.
  • Medical documentation: International departments provide second-opinion services and treatment plans in English.
  • Logistic assistance: Hospitals like Rambam Medical Center organize airport transfers and family liaison support.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows that the most successful patient experiences occur at centers with over 1,000,000 annual patients, such as Hadassah or Sourasky. These high-volume hubs have established dedicated `wings` for international guests. While medical staff typically speak English, choosing a clinic with a 4.4+ rating often ensures smoother daily administrative support in your preferred language.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that while oncologists are often fluent in English, having a dedicated coordinator is essential for navigating daily hospital paperwork and discharge instructions. Many recommend confirming all English documentation and transfer details before arrival to avoid any communication friction.

Israeli oncology centers provide remote follow-up via telemedicine and dedicated hospital apps for symptom logging. Patients receive personalized schedules for bloodwork and scans, often performed weekly or bi-weekly. Leading facilities like Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov) offer 24/7 oncology hotlines for urgent medical concerns.

  • Remote consultations: Experts like Dr. Ofer Merimsky provide follow-up advice via Zoom.
  • Digital monitoring: Hospital-specific apps allow patients to report symptoms and track results.
  • Treatment plans: Personalized protocols include home delivery of anti-emetics and essential medications.
  • Coordination: International departments manage communication between patients and doctors after departure.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics with high international patient volumes, such as Hadassah Medical Center, maintain specialized departments that prioritize rapid remote responses. Our data shows that centers with JCI accreditation and Newsweek rankings often provide structured digital access to test results. This allows your local doctor to align treatments with Israeli protocols immediately.

Patient Consensus: Patients note it is important to save hospital hotline numbers and download medical apps before leaving Israel. They find that while remote monitoring is direct, the quick response from coordinators for follow-up questions provides significant peace of mind.

Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are the primary Israeli hubs for expert oncology. Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv treats over 400,000 patients annually with a 90% success rate. Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem is globally recognized for bone marrow transplants and pediatric cancer care.

  • Sourasky (Ichilov): JCI-accredited facility in Tel Aviv. Ranked among Newsweek top 10 for medical tourists.
  • Hadassah Hospital: Jerusalem-based university center. Known for CAR-T cell therapy and clinical trial access.
  • Assuta Medical: Largest private surgical center in Tel Aviv. Offers personalized surgeon selection for oncology.
  • Rambam Health Care: Haifa-based center featuring Nobel Prize-winning specialists and advanced hematology-oncology departments.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Israeli hospitals like Sourasky operate with extreme efficiency. Diagnostics that take months elsewhere are finished in days here. Our data shows that clinics with JCI accreditation often have the only specialized robotic systems like the Da Vinci Xi, which can be a deciding factor for complex abdominal or prostate surgeries.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize that getting a second opinion or 'glass review' in Israel often changes their initial diagnosis. Many note the convenience of having Russian or English-speaking coordinators who handle scheduling and medical translations throughout the process.
