Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty in Mexico: Your Travel Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Mexico
  • You should arrive in Mexico at least 36 hours before your scheduled lower eyelid blepharoplasty procedure. This time allows for necessary pre-operative preparations and consultations.
  • Check into your accommodation. Choose a hotel, Airbnb, or recovery house based on your preference.
  • Contact the clinic to confirm your arrival and schedule your pre-operative lab work. Ensure all necessary diagnostics are completed on time.
Day 2: Pre-Operative Preparations
  • Undergo blood lab work to confirm you are healthy enough for surgery. This step assesses your overall health status for a safe procedure.
  • If you are over 45, present an EKG and a surgical risk assessment from a cardiologist or internist. This precaution identifies potential cardiac risks during surgery.
  • Meet with the surgical team for a pre-operative consultation. Discuss the procedure details and address any last-minute questions or concerns.
  • Ensure you understand the post-operative care instructions. Have all necessary medications ready for after the surgery.
Day 3: Surgery Day
  • Arrive at the clinic for your lower eyelid blepharoplasty. The procedure is typically performed in an operating room with local anesthesia and sedation, not general anesthesia.
  • The procedure involves removing excess fat pads from the lower eyelids, with no skin resection, according to your specific needs.
  • After the procedure, you will be monitored briefly before being discharged to your accommodation for recovery.
  • Ensure you have your take-home medications and understand the post-operative care instructions provided by the clinic.
Days 4-7: Post-Operative Recovery
  • Follow all post-operative care instructions carefully to ensure a smooth recovery. Take prescribed medications and apply any recommended creams or ointments.
  • Avoid strenuous activities. Keep your head elevated to reduce swelling and promote healing.
  • Attend any scheduled follow-up consultations to monitor your recovery progress.
  • Communicate with the clinic via videocall or chat if you have any concerns or questions during your recovery.
  • Plan to stay in Mexico for at least 5 days post-surgery. This allows for stitch removal and any necessary follow-up care.
Day 8: Departure and Return Home
  • Attend your final follow-up appointment to have your stitches removed. Receive clearance to travel home.
  • Ensure you have all necessary documentation and post-operative care instructions for continued recovery once you return home.
  • Contact the clinic if you have any further questions or require additional support after returning home.

My experience has been very bad with Dr. Ayala… He only spoke with me for about 10 minutes before my surgery and afterwards was very reluctant to answer any questions when I said I was not happy with the outcome of my neck and ears. He said I could come back in a couple of months to have it fixed. When I came back. I decided to do liposuction on my abdominal area at the same time again the same thing no follow up as far as what I should be doing or wearing or anything… Again, one of my ears was not corrected and looked actually worse than before. When I came back to get my stitches out I pointed that out and he said that was normal and I argued saying that my other ear came out fine and this year looked bad. He said he couldn’t do anything else except wait for another couple of months and have me come back again. At this point, I showed him my liposuction, which looked bad as well with a lot of fibrosis happening… He gave no recommendation except to have ultrasound treatment done. I went online and discovered I should be wearing compression garments as well as getting massage for lymphatic fluid, which was building up. Once I went to the masseuse, she informed me of all the things I needed to be doing, but this is also cost me an extra thousand dollars. The whole experience was very disappointing and now I need to go to another surgeon to get one of my ears fixed hopefully for the last time But this all started Jan 3 and we are now into May and I’m still not out of the woods! I actually liked the personalities of everybody that I worked with, but I cannot in good conscience. Recommend them to anyone else because I know they will be very disappointed!

The hospital advertised was not the one I went to. The operating room was thrown together i my opinion. Hardly anyone spoke English so I had a difficult time with the forms. I didn't even get a copy. After the surgery I was left on my back overnight night and was told I'll be ok. Once finally discharged the next morning, I only received antibiotics and ibuprofen. No instructions on how and what to do afterwards. I felt like they did what they was supposed to and dropped me off in the streets to fend for myself

The surgeon was good but the coordinator Carlo made too many mistakes. 1. Didn’t book continuous days at hotel. 2. As a result, I was kicked out of room the day I was in surgery. . 2. Need more after care days to remove drainage. I was abruptly kicked out of TJ while I was still feeling weak. Needed more days in Tijuana. At least 2 more. Return to America and no one wanted to remove drainage tubes. 3. The day nurse talked bad about me to everyone. The night nurse , Paulina was perfect. I would never recommend surgery in Mexico. No need to go viral with this because all of USA know this. Mexican are much better at picking fruits!

Their staff was very accommodating and thoughtful - everyone was super nice and considerate, especially Sara and Maria
First off, I used Aura Wellness Center, instead of Alice Beauty Clinic. And, their staff was very accommodating and thoughtful - everyone was super nice and considerate, especially Sara and Maria. Sara was the best English speaker there and helped me with everything. Maria was kind, warm, and also a great English speaker. They made it less lonely since I had this journey alone. Through Bookimed, I was assisted by Confidence, she was super thoughtful and checked up on me. She made sure I had connections with my medical coordinator and doctor. My coordinator was named Carlos. He was kind, answering all my questions and even texted me after my surgery numerous time to ensure I was recovering and satisfied with my results. My doctor was Dr. Ayala. I can't say much about him since he was in and out of the surgery room. I met him briefly. And, I'm unsure of my results as I am only one month post-op.
The staff at the clinic was accommodating. The coordinator from Bookimed and from the doctor ensured my questions were answered.
Dr. Ayala's brevity and lack of check up after the surgery. I didn't meet him more than 15 (when I was conscious since I was under anesthesia when he operated on me).

I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue
I had a really great experience with my doctor and care here. I wanted a very natural looking nose, not to look "doll-like" or like I had a rhinoplasty. Same for lip filler. I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue. I believe it required different degrees of cutting for each nostril so I'm very impressed that the end result's symmetry appears less than 1mm different from one another, that's a huge improvement from before. The shape is really nice and I was impressed that after surgery the packing was done in such a way that I was able to breathe through my nose the whole time, even during my recovery.

my doctor, Dr
my doctor, Dr. M was amazing. He was available by text very experienced knowledgeable. I cannot comment on the outcome as of yet. I’m only 10 days out but definitely will be back to update my review so far he has a 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone thinking of Having surgery. I really cannot say enough about his professionalism
I liked how the doctor explained everything to me in details that I understood made sure I understood exactly what was happening as well as being realistic about how long it will take in the journey to get there. And just knowing that he and his staff were there for me at all times during my stay.
Overall, it was a very positive experience and I don’t think I have any one particular item that I did not like of course nobody likes having surgery done however they made it as comfortable as possible

Dr
Dr. Marraquin was amazing. He spent over an hour with me on my consultation before my surgery. Let me know absolutely everything that was going to happen. His years of training is quite obvious to anybody who is requesting his services. He answered every question I could possibly think of. Additionally, he was available through text messaging 24 hours a day. He’s response time was impressive. I was very pleased with the outcome of my facelift. I would refer him to any buddy I know.
