How Much Does Chin implant Cost in Thailand?

Chin implant surgery in Thailand typically costs from $500 / ฿17,000 to $2,000 / ฿68,000. Final pricing depends on the implant material, the surgeon's expertise, and the chosen medical facility. In the United States, similar procedures cost around $6,500 / ฿221,000 on average. Patients traveling to Thailand can expect savings of approximately 82%. Most Thai packages include the silicone implant, surgeon fees, anesthesia, and post-operative medications.

  • Standard silicone implants: Typically the most budget-friendly option for enhancing facial symmetry.
  • Medpor porous implants: Often cost 40-60% more than silicone due to advanced tissue integration.
  • Sliding genioplasty: This surgical bone-repositioning technique involves higher costs for specialized maxillofacial expertise.
  • Hospital tier: Premium JCI-accredited centers in Bangkok generally charge more than specialized boutique clinics.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a comprehensive hospital often yields better long-term value than smaller clinics. For instance, Asia Cosmetic Hospital is JCI-accredited and includes overnight stays in its pricing. This eliminates the need for separate hotel bookings during the initial recovery phase. High-volume centers like Yanhee International Hospital offer various silicone grades, letting patients tailor the cost to their specific aesthetic goals.

Chin implant in Thailand: Your Travel Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Thailand
  • Upon arrival at the airport, you should expect a complimentary pick-up service if you have made a 30% deposit. This ensures a smooth transition to your accommodation or directly to the clinic for pre-surgery preparations.
  • Check into your hotel and rest. You need to be well-rested and hydrated before your surgery.
  • Contact the clinic to confirm your appointment time for the pre-operative consultation and any necessary medical assessments.
Day 2: Pre-Operative Consultation and Assessment
  • Attend a comprehensive pre-operative consultation with your surgeon. You will discuss your goals, concerns, and the specific details of the chin implant procedure.
  • Undergo a series of pre-operative assessments. These may include blood tests, EKG, X-rays, 3D facial scans, and CT scans. These diagnostics ensure you are fit for surgery and help in planning the procedure.
  • Discuss the type of chin implant that will be used. Options may include a long tail anatomical chin implant, which enhances both the front and side profiles of the chin.
  • Confirm the surgical plan, including the incision site, typically inside the mouth about 3 cm under the lower teeth area.
  • Receive information on general anesthesia, which will be administered by a qualified anesthesiologist to ensure comfort and safety during the procedure.
Day 3: Surgery Day
  • Arrive at the clinic at the scheduled time. You should have fasted as instructed, usually from midnight the night before.
  • Meet with your surgical team, including the surgeon and anesthesiologist, to review the procedure and answer any last-minute questions.
  • Undergo the chin implant surgery, which typically takes a few hours. The procedure involves placing the implant through an incision inside the mouth to enhance the chin's appearance.
  • Post-surgery, you will be taken to a recovery room where medical staff will monitor your initial recovery from anesthesia.
  • Stay overnight in a private patient room with 24-hour nursing care to ensure a safe and comfortable recovery.
Day 4: Post-Operative Care and Discharge
  • Receive a post-operative assessment from your surgeon to ensure there are no complications and that the initial recovery is progressing well.
  • Discuss and receive instructions for at-home care, including wound care and medication management.
  • Take advantage of post-operative services such as a beauty club for hair wash and care, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy to aid recovery.
  • Discharge from the clinic and return to your hotel. Arrange for transportation, which may be included in your package.
Day 5-7: Recovery and Follow-Up
  • Focus on rest and recovery at your accommodation. Follow the clinic's post-operative instructions carefully, including medication schedules and activity restrictions.
  • Maintain a soft diet to prevent strain on the surgical site. Avoid physical exertion.
  • Use any prescribed compression garments to reduce swelling and support healing.
  • Stay in contact with the clinic's personalized beauty advisor for any questions or concerns during recovery.
  • Schedule and attend a follow-up appointment at the clinic to monitor your progress. This is crucial to ensure proper healing and address any concerns.
Day 8: Preparing for Departure
  • Attend a final check-up at the clinic to ensure you are ready for travel and that there are no complications.
  • Receive a detailed summary of your surgery and recovery, including recommendations for continued care once you return home.
  • Confirm any future follow-up appointments or virtual consultations, which may be included for up to 6 months post-surgery.
  • Arrange for transport to the airport, which may be provided by the clinic as part of your package.
Day 9: Departure from Thailand
  • Ensure you have all necessary documentation and medications for your journey home.
  • Depart Thailand with a clear understanding of your recovery plan and how to contact the clinic for any post-travel inquiries or follow-ups.

Everything went very easily, the case when you are dealing with highly qualified specialists
Hello everyone, There was a problem with gynecomastia in the left breast. I saw an advertisement from the “bookimed” campaign on the Internet, after which I read the reviews (which aroused confidence) and contacted “Bookimed”, the company's managers were sympathetic to my situation and coordinated with Elena who works at B.care medical clinic (in Bangkok) . Elena clearly and clearly explained how we can eliminate this problem, after which I came for a consultation, having done an ultrasound scan, sent blood tests and after consulting with Elena and a Thai surgeon, gynecomastia in the left breast was confirmed, it was decided to operate. I arrived at the clinic on the morning of the operation, Elena and a team of Thai nurses prepared everything clearly and after 2-3 hours the doctor began the operation under local anesthesia, the operation lasted 1 hour + -, everything was professional, Elena's support was present even during the operation (tk I didn’t sleep), after the operation, I spent one more day at the hospital in the clinic (the room is very comfortable, the conditions and communication from the staff are at a high level - shower, food, cleaning, Elena and nurses visit to control my condition). Everything went very easily, the case when you are dealing with highly qualified specialists. Elena, thank you for organizing and coordinating the preparatory, operational and postoperative working moments and for maintaining morale during the operation!

100% recommend this clinic
On 19.02.2025 I had breast augmentation surgery. Beforehand, I received a detailed consultation from professionals Dr Anychit Kitsombud, Dr Elena Goldobenko and nurse Maricor. The doctor helped with the choice of size and shape of implants, told me in detail about the operation, consequences, recovery process, gave clear recommendations. The surgery was easy, the medical staff was always in touch, they helped, cared. Dr Elena is always in touch, controls the recovery process, gives recommendations. Definitely, the choice of this clinic was the right decision for this operation. I am very happy with the result. 100% recommend this clinic. Professionalism, safety, care - B Care!

I'm still healing from my surgery but so far I'm very happy with the result and would recommend the hospital and clinic, and would like to reassure anyone going abroad that you'll be in good hands!
Had a rhinoplasty at B care hospital and the care the team provided was amazing. Just wanted to write this to reassure anyone looking into it, as my family were concerned about me heading out to Thailand to have the procedure as a lot of families would be. The hospital and clinic were sparkling clean. The co-ordinator, nurse and doctor were all just lovely and very attentive to my needs. There was no difficulty communicating with the doctor who went through exactly what would be done during the procedure. One thing I was happy about was the 2 nights in hospital - other places I looked at only gave you one night, or even home the same day. Being sleepy after the surgery, I wouldn't have wanted to go back to my accom the same day. I was grateful I had the lovely nurse Mariko looking after me. Also the room at the hospital was lovely - spacious and bright with a nice en suite and all the facilities you would need. I also realised I had tonsillitis on the day I left the hospital (I think I got it before I even had the surgery) and the team were very caring and made sure I had all the medications I needed for that too, before going back to my accommodation. I'm still healing from my surgery but so far I'm very happy with the result and would recommend the hospital and clinic, and would like to reassure anyone going abroad that you'll be in good hands! Bookimed were also really good at keeping in touch and my coordinator Marsela was patient while I took my time to decide if I was going to go ahead with the procedure in the first place, and was always there to answer any questions I had. All very much appreciated!

But overall I'm really happy with my experience with the ID Clinic team ☺️
Ice was one of the nurses who collected me from the airport. She was so kind for waiting nearly two hours for me due to a delay I had. She helped me so much after my surgery too. Another nurse Marge was wonderful. She helped with translation and my aftercare, she was so gentle when helping take out my stitches. I thank all of the nursing staff, they were all wonderful in their own way and treated me very well. I wish I could have spoken with the doctor more, he always seemed in a rush, I know he is a very busy man but if he could slow down just a bit it would help the patient care factor improve. But overall I'm really happy with my experience with the ID Clinic team ☺️ I only took two pictures of the inside of my overnight room, the clinic was very clean and comfortable and beautiful 🙏
The staff and nurses were exceptional!
Not enough conversation with the doctor, he seemed in a hurry

I'm very impressed with the outcome
I'm very impressed with the outcome. Bookimed assistant was helpful and arrange a virtual consultation with the consultant. While English was not his strong fort, his expertise made up for it. The staff, especially Margi was extremely valuable as she speaks fluently English. Her knowledge and expertise was well appreciated as well as her care and attentiveness. The staff was nice. I did rhinoplasty and liposuction and I'll very impressed with the outcome. Post op care was provided. The nose did not hurt post op in comparison with the liposuction, which was quite uncomfortable. Not painful, numb and tender I suppose. As to the cost, it's fairly competitive.
The expertise
More English speakers would have been nice.

I am ecstatic with the results
Dr. Pyungtanasup was professional and did an incredible job. I am ecstatic with the results. The nurses were kind, helpful and gentle. The room was clean and comfortable. I was assisted whenever I needed and it made the first 24 hours much easier. I received antibiotics, painkillers, and anti-inflammatory medication which helped a lot when healing. Highly recommend Wansiri Hospital and the fantastic staff.
The nurses and the doctor were excellent. Very helpful and kind. The hospital has top-tier rooms and facilities.
The admin staff was a little slow. Keeping patients up-to-date with appointments and recovery progress is important. I also didn't enjoy the waiting time.
About Bookimed service

I had my surgery at B.care on Bukimed's recommendation. Before the surgery, I asked the doctor 3 times what complications there could be, but the interpreter and (assistant surgeon) "did not understand the question" said that there could be problems "ONLY if I do not do massage after surgery. After my breast augmentation, my pocket tore and my implant went down. The doctor told me to wear a rubber band from the post-operative underwear - on top, which provoked the breast drooping even more. Then I was taken to the breast correction, which was done under local anesthesia, just injected the breast with Ledocoin, cut the stitches, tightened and sewed back. It was very painful and I experienced a huge amount of stress that I still remember to this day. This kind of surgery should be under general anesthesia. After the correction, I have again lowered one breast, of course, not so much, but still, very ugly looks. Also initially the doctor placed the implants very low, because of this there is little volume on top, it looks like not round but drop-shaped implant (which does not fit my body type). All postoperative rules and recommendations and followed, wore underwear and massages. The doctor said that this is because I "lay on the chest" shifting the responsibility on me. But, to surf I was allowed in 2.5 months, and there you need to lie on the chest. I learned about the fact that you can not lie on the chest for a year, when I had a torn pocket. I do not recommend the clinic and the surgeon. Very disappointed.

Staff support on line and in person was outstanding
Dr was available to talk to prior to surgery. Staff support on line and in person was outstanding . Care following surgery was good. And response to follow up questions outstanding. My only concern was my lack of knowledge of the extent of the surgery and what would happen afterwards. Staff and Dr answered all my questions but it was the things I didn't ask and therefore didn't expect afterwards. It would be good to have a handout or link to webpage with some idea of what happens to your body afterwards and what to worry about or not. . This is especially the case when you are leaving the area afterwards.
Staff care and kindness
Not enough knowledge about what to expect afterwards

I am more than satisfied for the price and can highly recommend the clinic
The staff are very friendly and make you feel really comfortable. It is sometimes a bit difficult to communicate in the clinic as not every member of staff speaks English well, but it's not a big problem. I was very nervous before my tummy tuck but the nurse was really responsive to me. Contact is always via WhatsApp, which is very convenient. I am driven to the clinic every 2 days and the clinic covers the travel costs. Everything is also included. I am more than satisfied for the price and can highly recommend the clinic.

FAQ about Chin implant in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the potential risks of chin implant surgery?

Chin implant surgery in Thailand is generally safe, though potential risks include infection, nerve damage causing lower lip numbness, and implant displacement. These complications are often manageable when procedures are performed by board-certified surgeons in JCI-accredited facilities like Yanhee International Hospital or Bumrungrad International Hospital.

  • Infection risk: Higher humidity in Thailand may impact wound healing and require strict post-operative hygiene.
  • Sensation changes: Temporary or permanent numbness in the chin or lip from mental nerve stretching.
  • Implant shifting: Improper pocket sizing or inadequate fixation can lead to facial asymmetry over time.
  • Bone resorption: Long-term pressure from silicone implants may cause minor, often asymptomatic, jawbone erosion.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data from leading Bangkok clinics shows a trend toward using PEEK or custom implants over traditional silicone. While silicone is common, surgeons at Wansiri Hospital and Asia Cosmetic Hospital report that custom-fitted materials reduce the risk of displacement and long-term bone wear. Choosing a clinic with high patient volumes, such as those serving over 10,000 patients annually, typically correlates with lower revision rates.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize the need for a 14-day stay in Thailand to monitor swelling and ensure early signs of infection are treated. Many recommend prioritizing surgeons with over 100 documented cases to avoid suboptimal aesthetic results or `overdone` appearances.

How long does recovery take and what is the typical timeline?

Recovery after a chin implant in Thailand typically takes 7 to 14 days for visible swelling and bruising to subside. Most patients return to work within 1 week, though final contour results emerge over 3 to 6 months as the implant fully settles into place.

  • Initial healing: Most swelling and bruising resolve within the first 7 to 10 days.
  • Work return: Patients are usually presentable for video calls or office work after 1 week.
  • Activity limits: Avoid contact sports or strenuous exercise for at least 6 weeks post-surgery.
  • Numbness duration: Temporary chin numbness is normal and typically fades within 1 to 3 months.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Yanhee International Hospital and Wansiri Hospital leverage high patient volumes to refine minimally invasive incision techniques. Data shows hospitals in Bangkok often use smaller intraoral incisions to speed up external healing. This allows international patients to fly home safely just 7 days after the procedure.

Patient Consensus: Expect the first 3 days to be the most uncomfortable due to tightness and swelling. Many patients suggest using arnica and following a soft-food diet for the first week to ensure the implant remains stable.

What materials are used for the implants and how do they differ?

Chin implants in Thailand primarily feature medical-grade silicone due to its flexibility and ease of customization. Surgeons at JCI-accredited facilities like Yanhee International Hospital or Asia Cosmetic Hospital frequently sculpt these smooth implants on-site to ensure a precise, natural fit for each patient's facial structure.

  • Medical-grade silicone: Flexible, smooth material easily trimmed by surgeons for custom facial contouring.
  • Porous polyethylene: Rigid texture allowing tissue ingrowth, though more challenging to remove if revised.
  • Gore-Tex (ePTFE): Premium soft-tissue alternative offering porous integration with less palpable implant edges.
  • Fixation methods: Silicone implants often require surgical screws to prevent shifting or late displacement.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While silicone remains the regional standard for its $2,000–$3,000 price point, high-volume centers like Wansiri Hospital emphasize intraoperative sculpting. Our data shows Thai surgeons prefer silicone because it allows for real-time adjustments during the 450,000 annual procedures performed at top-tier hospitals.

Patient Consensus: Patients often recommend confirming if the surgeon will screw the implant in place to avoid shifting. Many noted that while Medpor feels more `integrated,` silicone's smooth surface makes any future adjustments significantly simpler.

Where are the incisions placed and will there be visible scarring?

Surgeons in Thailand typically place chin implant incisions intraorally inside the lower lip to ensure zero visible external scarring. Alternatively, a submental incision is hidden within the natural crease under the chin, where it matures into a faint, nearly invisible line within 3 to 6 months.

  • Intraoral approach: Incisions stay entirely inside the mouth along the lower lip line.
  • Submental approach: Small incisions are camouflaged within the natural skin fold under the chin.
  • External recovery: Initial healing of the incision site typically occurs within 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Scar maturation: Any external marks generally flatten and fade fully after 3 to 6 months.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many budget clinics prefer the submental approach for speed, top-tier Bangkok facilities like Wansiri Hospital or Asia Cosmetic Hospital prioritize intraoral techniques. Choosing an International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery member ensures advanced masking methods that eliminate visible neck scars entirely.

Patient Consensus: Patients often recommend the internal lip incision to avoid any outward signs of surgery. They suggest avoiding strenuous lower lip movement for 2 weeks to prevent the internal stitches from pulling.

What is typically included in an all-inclusive surgery package?

All-inclusive chin implant packages in Thailand typically bundle the primary surgical fee, anesthesia, and 1–2 nights of hospital stay. These packages also cover standard pre-operative screenings, basic post-operative medications during the stay, and one follow-up consultation with a board-certified surgeon.

  • Medical fees: Covers the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and all operating room medical supplies.
  • Hospital stay: Includes 1–2 nights in private rooms with 24-hour professional nursing care.
  • Post-op care: Provides initial wound dressings, suture removal, and essential recovery medications.
  • Patient support: Many clinics include bilingual coordinators and help with local medical registration.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows a significant value gap between basic and luxury tiers. While mid-range packages from JCI-accredited clinics like Yanhee International Hospital focus on medical essentials, premium options at facilities like Wansiri Hospital often add VIP airport transfers and 5-star hotel stays. Always confirm if your quoted price includes the specific implant brand, as premium silicone upgrades can add $500 to $1,000 to the baseline cost.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize that while surgery and hospital stays are covered, you should budget 20% extra for specialized compression garments and additional post-op painkillers. Many travelers recommend getting a detailed inclusion list in writing to avoid paying out-of-pocket for airport transfers.

How long should I plan to stay in Thailand for the procedure?

Plan for a 10 to 12 day stay in Thailand for a chin implant procedure. While surgery takes 4 to 6 hours, patients need 7 to 10 days post-operation before receiving fit-to-fly clearance from surgeons at JCI-accredited facilities like Yanhee International Hospital.

  • Pre-operative arrival: Arrive 1–2 days early for physical evaluations and surgical markings.
  • Surgical recovery: Most patients receive discharge the same evening or the next morning.
  • Post-operative peak: Expect significant swelling and bruising during the first 3–5 days.
  • Medical follow-ups: Schedule suture removal on day 3 and final checks by day 7.
  • Travel safety: Avoid flying until day 8 to prevent complications from cabin pressure.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While some clinics suggest a 7-day stay, our data shows patients at high-volume centers like ID Clinic Bangkok benefit from a 12-day window. This buffer accounts for peaking swelling on day 4 and ensures your final check-up happens before long-haul travel.

Patient Consensus: Many travelers regret booking shorter stays because the initial 5 days involve intense swelling. Those who stayed at least 10 days felt much more comfortable navigating international airports during their return journey.

Are there specific diet restrictions after chin implant surgery?

Patients must follow a liquid or soft-food diet for 7 to 14 days after chin implant surgery to minimize jaw movement. This phase protects internal incisions and prevents implant displacement. Most Thailand clinics, including JCI-accredited facilities in Bangkok, recommend transitioning from clear liquids to soft solids like mashed potatoes by day 5.

  • Initial phase: Consume clear liquids like apple juice or broth for the first 24 hours.
  • Soft food transition: Eat yogurt, smoothies, and scrambled eggs during the first week of recovery.
  • Avoid suction: Do not use straws as the suction can disrupt healing oral incisions.
  • Prohibited items: Avoid crunchy, hard, or spicy foods for at least 2 to 4 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While US averages reach $6,500, Thailand offers chin augmentation from $1,000 at elite centers like Bumrungrad International Hospital. High-volume Bangkok clinics often perform thousands of procedures annually, which correlates with their 0% complication claims. Choosing an experienced surgeon who uses intraoral incisions can hide scarring but requires stricter adherence to liquid diets to prevent infection.

Patient Consensus: Many patients find that sticking to a liquid diet for the full 10 days is vital. They often suggest skipping spicy local cuisine initially to avoid aggravating sensitive surgical sites and swelling.
