How Much Does Forehead augmentation (implant) Cost in Thailand?

Forehead augmentation (implant) in Thailand typically costs from $2,300 / ฿78,200 to $4,000 / ฿136,000. The final price depends on the chosen material, such as standard silicone or custom 3D-printed implants, and the clinic category. In the US, the average price for this procedure is $12,000 / ฿408,000, meaning patients save approximately 73% by choosing Thai medical hubs like Bangkok or Nonthaburi. Most packages include consultations, anesthesia, the implant itself, and post-operative care.

  • Standard silicone implants: $2,300 / ฿78,200 to $4,000 / ฿136,000 for pre-fabricated medical-grade shapes.
  • Custom 3D-printed implants: Often cost 30-50% more than standard silicone due to precise CT-scan modeling.
  • Bone cement (PMMA): Typically represents a more expensive technical alternative for permanent facial contouring.
  • Hospital tier: Prices in JCI-accredited facilities in Bangkok often run 15-20% higher than regional clinics.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a specialized facility like Lelux Plastic Surgery Hospital offers high value. Hospital Director Dr. Kittisak Vichachai brings 36 years of surgical experience specifically in forehead augmentation. While Wansiri Hospital provides digitized medical operations and premium 5-star facilities, mid-tier specialized clinics often deliver similar surgical success rates. Patients should prioritize surgeons with International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) memberships to ensure global safety standards.

The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations
Waking up, I felt groggy but managed. The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations. The incision was placed under the breast, which is what I wanted. I am still in the early recovery phase, and it has its challenges. My pain has lessened to a mild discomfort, but sleeping through the night is difficult, and my nipples are uncomfortably hypersensitive. Overall, the medical care was solid, though the recovery process itself is demanding. It’s a serious undertaking.

Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care
Monsplaty, Tummy Tuck and 360 Liposuction. My biggest concern going into this was what the recovery would actually feel like. It's not easy. The most challenging part has definitely been the constant tight feeling, which is something to be prepared for. My surgeon used a combination of liposuction and excision. Right now there is still some swelling, so it’s too early to know how my clothes will fit differently in the end. Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care. It was a professional and supportive environment, and I'm glad I made the choice to go there.
Very clean, very inviting. After care was good too. Everything was quick and easy. Communication via whatsapp made things easier as well. I travelled solo and the staff helped that little extra.
After surgery garments are not forgiving for us longer torso people. They were a bit short which added a lil discomfort when it rolled at the back. Other than that everything was really good.

Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected
Seeing the surgical site for the first time was the moment everything finally felt real. Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected. We used the penile inversion technique, and while the results look promising, the recovery requires a lot of patience and steady commitment to the healing process. My biggest challenge at this stage is definitely the physical discomfort of being seated for a long time. It is a process. The clinic staff has been very attentive during my stay, and I am expecting to have the catheter removed very soon. To anyone else preparing for this surgery, it’s not easy but it is a good experience overall.

I’m feeling better than expected this early on
My main worries before the procedure were the recovery process and the final look of the scars. My surgeon was very direct about both, clearly explaining the realistic results, the swelling timeline, and exactly where the incisions for my full neck lift would be placed behind the ears. This honesty was appreciated. The procedure was done under general anesthesia, and I’m feeling better than expected this early on. The clinic’s support has been solid; they gave me a clear aftercare guide and have been easy to reach with questions. It was also a relief that there were no additional expenses on top of the quoted price.
Would recommend. Very professional. Excellent Doctor and staff. Very pleased.

What truly stood out was my surgeon, who was honest about realistic results from the start and personally handled both the consultation and the surgery
I was thinking that going into a revision was getting unrealistic promises. What truly stood out was my surgeon, who was honest about realistic results from the start and personally handled both the consultation and the surgery. It gave me confidence. My alarplasty was done to correct an asymmetric nose, and while I'm still in the early stages of healing, it’s really too early to tell what the final outcome will be. The staff were supportive, providing a clear aftercare guide for my recovery at home. I also appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I had already paid the clinic.

the care provided by the surgeon and the staff was impeccable
My one-off operation went very well and the care provided by the surgeon and the staff was impeccable, apart from a few minor language issues. However, you should be prepared for a few additional costs that were not included in the original price: we had to pay for the transfers between the hotel and the clinic ourselves, and the wound care supplies were insufficient, which amounted to a mid-double-digit sum in total. My most important tip for future patients would be to make absolutely sure you clarify any dietary requirements (vegetarian/halal/...) with the clinic before you arrive.
The coordination team is very dedicated and always available. The staff are consistently very friendly and go out of their way to help. A very comprehensive package with extensive, thorough preliminary examinations and no hidden costs. A superbly equipped single room, including a sofa bed for an accompanying person.
Contrary to what was advertised, there was no interpreter. The nursing staff, in particular, did not always have a good enough command of English to explain everything clearly and in detail. The consultation with the surgeon was less detailed than expected. It wasn’t always entirely clear which services were included in the package and which weren’t (particularly transfers) – but there were no major hidden costs. Hospital food/light meals after operations are always a challenge, and perhaps even more so in a different cultural context – I wasn’t asked about any specific dietary preferences, so anyone who absolutely needs vegetarian, vegan, kosher or halal food should definitely clarify this in advance; in my opinion, the hospital bed was very hard, which is significantly more uncomfortable when you can’t move around much

The most reassuring part of the whole process was sitting with the surgeon before we started
The most reassuring part of the whole process was sitting with the surgeon before we started. He took the time to draw the hairline with me and clearly explained the entire FUE extraction and implantation process, which helped manage my expectations for the 2,000-3,000 graft procedure. Now in the early stages of healing, I'm feeling about as expected. The clinic has stayed in touch, which is good. Overall, it was a solid experience with the surgeon and staff, and I appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I was quoted.

I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic
My biggest worry was how the results would actually look and feel afterward. Now that I'm in the early stages of recovery from the fat transfer graft, I can say the outcome is positive. The girth is already noticeably thicker. Everything is still slightly numb, as expected, but the visual change is definitely there. The surgeon and the entire staff were professional and clear with all information, which helped manage my concerns from the beginning. It's a relief. Based on the care I received and the initial results, I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic.

The entire staff and my surgeon were great and supportive through it all
My biggest fear was the recovery, and it’s certainly a process that requires patience. The entire staff and my surgeon were great and supportive through it all. Right now, my chin is still very swollen, so I can't properly see the projection from the large, solid silicone implant yet. The numbness has been the hardest part. My lower lip feels slightly numb, which has made eating the biggest challenge so far. It’s a strange sensation. Despite the temporary side effects of healing, the care I received was solid and I would recommend this clinic.

My breathing is now even better than before
My biggest concern was that the result might look unnatural or that my breathing might be affected. Neither of these things happened. In fact, my breathing is now even better than before. During the open rhinoplasty, a small bump was removed and the bridge of my nose is now, even so soon after the procedure, already straighter, just as I wanted. In addition, the tip of my nose already looks much more defined. The staff and the surgeon were consistently supportive and answered all my questions patiently, which gave me a great deal of reassurance. I felt I was in good hands.

The surgeon and the whole medical team have been absolutely brilliant
I was really worried about the recovery period, and the truth is it hasn’t been as easy as I expected. My stomach is still swollen, and the compression garments are still tight, but the hardest part so far has been dealing with the annoying numb patches. That said, the surgeon and the whole medical team have been absolutely brilliant. The doctor explained to me that he used ultrasound technology (VASER) and removed between 3 and 4 litres of fat, and I felt I was in safe hands with them. Unfortunately, the clinic’s facilities weren’t up to the same standard as the quality of medical care, which is why I’ve given it a lower rating. Overall, I’m optimistic about the final result.
The medical and nursing staff are truly exceptional
The clinic generally needs more space

My surgeon was excellent, a definite 5/5
If you're considering a tummy tuck, know that the recovery is a real process. My surgeon was excellent, a definite 5/5. He performed a full tuck and repositioned my belly button, and everything already feels very tight, which is good. My biggest challenge right now is the compression garment; it's just a constant presence. While the surgeon was fantastic, there were some minor organizational points with the clinic and staff that could have been smoother. It's still too early to see the final flat result with all the healing left to do, but I feel confident in my choice. I would give this clinic a 9/10 recommendation to a friend.
The doctor he is excellent .soft spoken ,attentive and a great surgeon.
Rooms could be bigger so that attendant could stay at night. They have a reclining sofa not suitable for night sleeping. Front desk managers could be more attentive to every detail.

The surgeon and the staff were fantastic from start to finish
My biggest worry was whether I'd see a real difference after having Vaser on multiple areas, especially since they removed over four liters. It’s still early, but the swelling is much less now, and I can definitely see subtle changes taking shape. The surgeon and the staff were fantastic from start to finish. They are a solid team. The main challenge for me is just the compression garment making my skin itchy, but that's part of recovery. While the clinic facilities were generally fine, they weren't on the same level as the medical care itself. It's a process. Overall, I feel this was a worthwhile decision.
Almost 2 weeks post-lipo with Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic. The bruising is fading and my clothes are fitting so much better already. My abdomen feels tighter, waist more defined, and inner thighs no longer rubbing as much when I walk. So happy I took this step for myself.

The initial appearance is honestly better than expected, even with all the healing that’s still to come
The initial appearance is honestly better than expected, even with all the healing that’s still to come. Seeing that was a huge relief. The surgeon and staff provided great support, making me feel secure from the start. Recovery is no joke. It was a positive step when the catheter was removed, but managing the dilation sessions has been very challenging. My biggest concern is the swelling, and I'm focused on trusting the process. The care and the surgical foundation are solid, which is why I'm rating everything positively.
Everything was perfect. The staff were kind, professional, and very supportive throughout the whole process. The doctor explained everything clearly and made me feel comfortable and cared for. The clinic was clean, organized, and exceeded my expectations. I’m very happy with my experience and grateful for the excellent care I received.
Nothing to complain about. Everything went smoothly and I was satisfied with the overall experience.

FAQ about Forehead augmentation (implant) in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Who are the top-ranked doctors for forehead implants in Thailand?

Top-ranked doctors for forehead implants in Thailand include Dr. Saran Wannachamras, Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul, and Dr. Pramote Manurangsee. These specialists hold prestigious board certifications and memberships in the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). They provide precise facial contouring at JCI-accredited hospitals using advanced implant customisation.

  • International training: Dr. Saran Wannachamras completed advanced surgical training at East Virginia School in America.
  • Craniofacial expertise: Dr. Pramote Manurangsee holds a fellowship in craniofacial surgery from UCLA Medical Center.
  • Surgical experience: Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul has performed over 20,000 procedures at ID Clinic Bangkok.
  • Academic honors: Dr. Shananya Varophas graduated with first-class honors from Thammasat University Medical School.

Bookimed Expert Insight: A notable trend among leading Thai surgeons is the integration of international reconstructive techniques into aesthetic procedures. For instance, Dr. Chokchai Amornsawadwattana at Yanhee Hospital applies head and neck reconstruction training from Royal Melbourne Hospital to ensure natural forehead contours. This dual focus on function and appearance often leads to more durable and anatomically correct results.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that surgeons take extra time to explain how different implant materials will look on their specific bone structure. Many were surprised at how much a smoother forehead profile improved their overall facial balance. People frequently mention feeling well-cared for by the attentive medical staff during their recovery in Bangkok.

Which doctors specialize in custom 3D-printed forehead implants?

Qualified plastic surgeons in Thailand specialize in custom 3D-printed forehead implants using advanced maxillofacial techniques. These experts use patient-specific 3D modeling and CAD technology. They typically hold certifications from the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand and have extensive international training.

  • Specialized credentials: Doctors often hold certificates in Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery for precise bone contouring.
  • International training: Many leading surgeons completed advanced programs at institutions like East Virginia School of Medicine.
  • Advanced technology: Specialists use 3D imaging to design bespoke implants for a perfect anatomical fit.
  • High volume: Experienced surgeons in Bangkok have performed over 20,000 procedures during their careers.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows that Dr. Saran Wannachamras at Wansiri Hospital and Dr. Ploypailin Rattanachinnakorn at Intrarat Hospital are particularly suited for this procedure. Dr. Rattanachinnakorn is uniquely qualified because of her combined training in both plastic and maxillofacial surgery. This dual expertise is vital for placing 3D-printed implants against the skull bone correctly.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that the precise fit of custom implants makes their forehead look very natural. They often mention feeling relieved that the 3D design matches their unique bone structure perfectly. Many found the process of seeing a digital preview of their results before surgery very reassuring.

Do Thai forehead-augmentation doctors speak English well for international consultations?

Leading Thai forehead augmentation surgeons are proficient in English and routinely conduct international consultations. Many top specialists completed fellowships in the United States or Australia. They handle complex facial contouring cases for global patients and use digital tools to clarify procedure details before travel.

  • International training: Dr. Saran Wannachamras trained at East Virginia Medical School in the USA.
  • English proficiency: Surgeons like Dr. Chokchai Amornsawadwattana are fluent and offer bilingual consultations.
  • Reconstruction expertise: Doctors hold training from global centers like the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
  • Accredited standards: Facilities like Yanhee International Hospital hold JCI accreditation for global communication.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows Thai surgeons often hold memberships in both national and international bodies like the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Jiraroch Meevassana and Dr. Saran Wannachamras utilize these global affiliations to stay updated on facial contouring trends. Patients benefit from this exposure as it aligns Thai surgical techniques with Western aesthetic preferences.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that English communication is often better than expected for pre-op video calls. Many found that using WhatsApp for photo sharing helps bridge any minor language gaps. They felt comfortable because urban clinics in Bangkok are highly experienced with international visitors.

How many board-certified plastic surgeons are there in Thailand?

Thailand has approximately 475 board-certified plastic surgeons active in the medical community. These specialists belong to The Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand (ThPRS). Leading experts often hold international fellowships from elite institutions in the United States, Taiwan, or South Korea.

  • Specialized certification: Surgeons must complete 6+ years of postgraduate training and pass council exams.
  • Global expertise: Many local specialists hold memberships in the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
  • Bangkok hub: Approximately 90% of certified plastic surgeons focus their practices within the capital city.
  • Facial mastery: Top surgeons maintain dual certifications in general and plastic surgery for safety.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Advanced facial procedures in Thailand are led by surgeons with specific craniofacial backgrounds. For instance, Dr. Pramote Manurangsee at Yanhee International Hospital trained at UCLA, while Dr. Ploypailin Rattanachinnakorn holds a Maxillofacial Surgery certificate. This specialized training allows them to shape facial implants with higher precision than general plastic surgeons.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that the highest concentration of qualified specialists is found in Bangkok hospitals. They often feel more confident knowing their doctors have international training from the US or Taiwan. Many are surprised by the personalized care provided at large accredited facilities.

What are the common risks and complications associated with forehead augmentation surgery in Thailand?

Forehead augmentation in Thailand carries standard surgical risks like infection, haematoma, and anaesthesia reactions. Specific complications include implant shifting, nerve damage leading to scalp numbness, or fat resorption from grafting. Choosing a hospital with high-quality air filtration and touchless systems helps manage these surgical risks.

  • Implant shifting: Silicone implants may move if not secured with micro-screws, causing asymmetry.
  • Sensory changes: Nerve compression or damage can cause temporary or permanent scalp numbness.
  • Fat resorption: Patients using fat transfer may see 30–50% of the volume absorbed.
  • Travel risks: Flying too soon after surgery increases the risk of deep vein thrombosis.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows hospital facilities often provide better safety infrastructure than standalone clinics. For example, Wansiri Hospital uses Clean Room standards and specialised air filtration to reduce infection risk. These measures are critical for Australian patients who cannot easily return to Thailand for complication management.

Patient Consensus: Patients suggest confirming exact implant brands in writing and choosing hospitals over small clinics. Many recommend planning an extended stay in Thailand to manage initial swelling or wound care.

What types of forehead implants are available for patients travelling to Thailand?

Patients travelling to Thailand can access forehead augmentation using custom PMMA bone cement, silicone, or porous e-PTFE implants. These permanent solutions typically cost between $2,300 and $4,000. This offers savings of up to 75% compared to the $12,700 Australian average.

  • Custom PMMA implants: Doctors shape polymethyl methacrylate specifically to the patient’s unique cranial anatomy.
  • e-PTFE (Gore-Tex): This porous synthetic material allows natural tissue integration for better stability.
  • Silicone implants: These durable, pre-formed implants provide a smooth, lasting contour for the forehead.
  • Fat grafting: Surgeons harvest the patient’s own fat for a less invasive, natural result.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows many successful cases at centres like Wansiri Hospital. This facility treats 2,000+ international patients annually. Board-certified specialists like Dr Kittisak Vichachai at Lelux Hospital have over 30+ years of experience. This high surgeon volume often leads to refined results with complex facial implants.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand mention that surgical implants provide better structural support than temporary fillers. They suggest confirming whether surgery happens in a hospital with full emergency infrastructure. Most travellers find that requesting a fixed, itemised quote helps avoid unexpected costs before flying.

What is the typical procedure and recommended recovery period for forehead augmentation in Thailand?

Forehead augmentation in Thailand involves placing silicone or porous polyethylene implants through hairline incisions. These implants contour the brow. Surgical results are permanent, though patients may opt for fat grafting or fillers. Recovery requires 7–10 days of downtime. Final results settle over 3–6 months.

  • Surgical technique: Surgeons insert custom-shaped implants through small incisions hidden within the natural hairline.
  • Initial recovery: Swelling and bruising are normal for the first 3–7 days after surgery.
  • Activity timeline: Most patients return to light activities and work within 7–10 days.
  • Full contouring: The final forehead shape and skin settling typically take 3–6 months.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Wansiri Hospital use Clean Room standard operating theatres with air filtration. This focus on sterility is vital because forehead implants are permanent. Choosing hospital-level care rather than small shops reduces the risk of long-term infection.

Patient Consensus: Expect significant tightness and pressure around the brow for the first 2 weeks. Sleeping elevated helps reduce swelling. Most patients recommend staying near the hospital for initial follow-ups.

What is the level of medicine in Thailand?

Healthcare is the key development sector of the Thai government. The Thai authorities are convinced that care for the citizens' health should be an absolute priority of state policy and spend about 25 billion baht for healthcare annually.

As a result, 36,673 medical facilities provide excellent medical care in the country. 64 centers in the Kingdom have certificate of JCI (Joint Commission International), the international improver of healthcare quality and safety across the globe. The index of certificates obtained is the largest. To compare, Israel has 20 JCI-accredited facilities, and Germany — only 10 clinics of this type.

What hotel service is provided here?

In the Kingdom of Thailand, hotels of different price ranges and service levels are presented. The level of Thai hotels is comparable to hotels in Tunisia, Morocco or Egypt. Most tourists choose 4 and 5 star hotels with all-inclusive meals. Such hotels have everything for a comfortable stay: varied food, a large well-groomed territory, animation for children and adults. Some hotels have their own water park, which guests can use for free. Budget travelers can afford to book an economical 3-star hotel with half board or no meals at all.

When is the best time to travel to Thailand?

The main advantage of Thai resorts is the long beach season. On the east coast and west coast the climate features are different, so take it into account when planning the trip. The best time to travel is during the cool and dry season between November and early April. A large influx of tourists is in March-May, when the air temperature is +30°C.

Do I need a visa?

For now, the Kingdom of Thailand requires different visa regimens for diverse states. Some foreigners can stay in the country 60 days without visa control, some of them — only 14 days.

How long you can stay in Thailand and what countries can cross the border easy read here.

What documents are required to apply for a visa to Thailand for treatment?

Visas for travel to Thailand require a number of documents. The necessary papers can be submitted 90 days before the planned departure. The list of documents includes:

  • ID card
  • confirmation of online registration and filling out the questionnaire
  • certificate of income and availability of funds (20,000 baht per person/40,000 baht per family)
  • insurance policy for a stay in Thailand (original and copy)
  • 2 photos (4x6)
  • visa receipt
  • booking of round-trip air ticket (paid in full) and hotel
  • medical opinion about the need for treatment.
