The surgeon and the whole medical team have been absolutely brilliant
I was really worried about the recovery period, and the truth is it hasn’t been as easy as I expected. My stomach is still swollen, and the compression garments are still tight, but the hardest part so far has been dealing with the annoying numb patches. That said, the surgeon and the whole medical team have been absolutely brilliant. The doctor explained to me that he used ultrasound technology (VASER) and removed between 3 and 4 litres of fat, and I felt I was in safe hands with them. Unfortunately, the clinic’s facilities weren’t up to the same standard as the quality of medical care, which is why I’ve given it a lower rating. Overall, I’m optimistic about the final result.

The operation went well, quickly and painlessly
The operation went well, quickly and painlessly. They provided all the necessary medication to be taken afterwards. The staff were always in touch. After the operation we had several additional check-ups to make sure that everything was OK. They constantly organised the transfer from the hotel to the clinic and back.

My biggest surprise is the lack of results. Although I am only just beginning my recovery, my skin is already much looser than I expected after such a procedure. The hardest part so far has been the visibility of the bruises, which were very extensive. I have to admit: the staff were decent. However, communication with the surgeon was virtually non-existent, to the extent that I’m not even sure which technique was used. The clinic’s overall organisation was also poor. I would absolutely not recommend this clinic.
I was received in a large room, decorated like a palace! I was greeted and asked for payment very quickly! Then came immediate examinations and the operation was scheduled for the next day
Everything was fine until I entered the operating room (a different building, much less impressive!). The anesthesia was administered on the operating table. The operating table, covered in green plastic with numerous black stains (blood), made me want to run away. Then I let myself go, almost resigned. Waking up was difficult, and I spent a day and two nights in my room, heavily medicated with painkillers, with nurses who were at least quite friendly. All the bruises took more than a month to disappear. I watched my face sag day by day. Nothing had changed! The treated areas are still numb, eight months after the operation. The scars are clearly visible, and the skin is completely loose. In short, a rip-off operation. And the final gift, because it has to be said, hepatitis C! This hospital isn't a hospital! It's a scam clinic! I am, of course, available to anyone who wants to know more about my surgery, a lower face and neck lift. The clinic promised me a touch-up on my neck after I go for a follow-up appointment and show them the significant skin laxity, but I'm too afraid of ending up with a completely unsightly face if I entrust them with my face again. This is a true story, and I have all the necessary documentation to prove it.

FAQ about Liposuction for gynecomastia in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

How do I verify if a Thai plastic surgeon is qualified?

Qualified Thai plastic surgeons hold Thai Board of Plastic Surgery certification. Many top specialists complete пяти-year residency programs at institutions like Chulalongkorn University. They often hold international memberships with ISAPS and training fellowships from the United States or Singapore.

  • Board certification: Surgeons hold a Diplomate from the Thai Board of Plastic Surgery.
  • International membership: Top doctors are often members of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
  • Specialized training: Leading specialists undergo five to seven years of surgical training after medical school.
  • Hospital accreditation: Reputable surgeons operate in facilities with JCI or Royal College of Surgeons accreditation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows that premier surgeons in Thailand often have dual surgical expertise. For example, Dr. Thanakom Laisakul holds certifications in both general surgery and plastic surgery. This dual background provides a deeper understanding of muscle anatomy and tissue safety. This is vital for complex gynecomastia cases requiring precise contouring.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that verifying international fellowships beyond local boards provides extra peace of mind. Many are surprised by the detailed planning sessions where surgeons discuss achieving natural chest symmetry. They also highlight that seeing specific before and after photos for male cases is essential.

Which Thai doctors are known for using advanced liposuction techniques?

Thai plastic surgeons use advanced ultrasound and water-jet technologies for precise male chest contouring. Top specialists like Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul and Dr. Thanakom Laisakul hold international credentials. They utilize techniques that preserve skin elasticity and minimize downtime for international patients seeking surgical correction.

  • Specialized training: Dr. Saran Wannachamras completed advanced plastic surgery training at East Virginia School, USA.
  • Global memberships: Dr. Thanakom Laisakul and Dr. Tinnakorn Rastiplang hold International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) memberships.
  • High procedure volume: Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul has performed 20,000+ surgeries, focusing on high-definition body sculpting.
  • Microsurgery expertise: Surgeons like Dr. Kasemsak Pyungtanasup are skilled in reconstructive and robotic surgery techniques.

Bookimed Expert Insight: A notable trend among leading Thai doctors is the integration of multiple surgical certifications. For example, Dr. Shananya Varophas at Wansiri Hospital holds dual certifications in general and plastic surgery. This combination is common among the country's top-tier specialists, providing a deeper understanding of chest wall anatomy for safer gynecomastia results.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that advanced ultrasound techniques melt fat effectively without the lumpy results of older methods. Many emphasize that combining liposuction with small gland excisions creates the smoothest chest contour. They also appreciate that power-assisted tools allow them to return to light activity within one week.

Do Thai surgeons treat international patients differently than locals?

Thai surgeons provide international patients with the same clinical care as locals. Most doctors follow standardized medical guidelines and international safety protocols. Surgeons often spend more time with overseas visitors to guarantee clear communication. Facilities like Asia Cosmetic Hospital hold JCI accreditation for universal quality standards.

  • Concierge support: Private clinics offer visa aid, airport transfers, and insurance help.
  • Language assistance: Hospitals provide professional translators and multilingual staff for easy consultation.
  • Global credentials: Surgeons like Dr. Thanakom Laisakul hold International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery membership.
  • Cultural care: Clinics accommodate diets like halal or kosher for international patient needs.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows Thai surgeons often have significant international training. Dr. Saran Wannachamras trained at East Virginia School in the USA. Dr. Thanakom Laisakul studied in Singapore, Korea, Australia, and the USA. This global exposure means they are accustomed to Western aesthetic preferences. Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul has performed over 20,000 operations, showing deep expertise in diverse cases.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that private hospitals feel more like luxury hotels than clinics. They say the personalized attention makes the travel stress disappear. Many were surprised by how thoroughly the doctors explained every step.
