We really liked the Physiomer hospital, it is very cozy and comfortable here. A big plus for the team, especially Melih, he helped us a lot on organizational issues. The physiotherapists are very patient and kind. Hussein and Zhannan are the best in their business. We have been choosing places where they can help us for a long time and we were not mistaken in choosing Physiomer, our little one was happy to work with this team.

The biggest thing that surprised me is how much my walking balance has already improved
The biggest thing that surprised me is how much my walking balance has already improved. It’s a direct result of the support from the surgeon and the entire staff here. Their approach is focused on task-specific therapy, and the daily sessions are intense but effective. I've found the robotic walker to be an incredibly useful tool for my progress. It is hard work. My main daily challenge has been managing fatigue, but the team is attentive and helps create a plan that works. I feel like I'm in very capable hands for this stage of my recovery.
Every body has been delightful

The Head Doctor is a great person with humility and patience to treat his patients well
Please check your facts as the hospital is very expensive for Turkey. However, very good facilities, most staff are committed and know their jobs well. The Head Doctor is a great person with humility and patience to treat his patients well. However, I am not aware of who is behind him and may influence some decisions. The facility should invest and innovate more. There are not enough staff and the patient’s progress suffered as a result. High turnover rate. I am quite surprised that the management team or main representative never once visited my family member, a long-term patient. Some nurses need to be trained as they lack essential customer service skills. Overall, good hospital with quality infrastructure and amenities. In this rehabilitation block, the patient rooms are mostly small and the bed-chair is very uncomfortable for long-term attendants. I would recommend the Hospital of course! We had a good experience despite few setbacks. Most problems were addressed professionally but the truth has to be told. It took some personal time and energy and the quality standards need to be there. We are not dealing with retail but health and you cannot expect your patients not to be demanding when they spend/pay a lot for medical care in Turkey.
Communication and goal sharing. Compassionate and well experienced. Very nice and seems knowledgeable. Speaks English well, problem-solver!
Ratings of hospital services. Recommendations and follow-up with hospital management on patient issues. Most contacts at the hospital are junior staff and problems not solved critically.

FAQ about treatment in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Where can I find occupational therapy or physical rehabilitation centers dealing with assistive technology in Antalya?

Antalya offers occupational therapy and physical rehabilitation for assistive technology. JCI-accredited hospitals and specialized neurological centers provide these services. Facilities like Memorial Antalya Hospital provide intensive physical medicine programs. Dedicated centers like Fizikalya, however, focus on daily-life functional recovery with specialized hardware.

  • Hospital certification: Memorial Antalya Hospital holds Joint Commission International accreditation for high safety.
  • Technology focus: Centers like Fizikalya Medical Center specialize in neurological motor-skill recovery.
  • Assistive setups: Clinicians adapt head mice, eye-tracking, and voice control for functional independence.
  • Academic research: Akdeniz University Hospital provides research-based protocols for complex neurological physical therapy.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Memorial Antalya Hospital handles over 1 million patients annually. The hospital has a dedicated Physical Medicine department. Some clinics focus on general exercise. High-volume centers, however, often provide better access to specialized coordination for international patients. Always confirm if the facility includes technical training for assistive software alongside hardware setup.

Patient Consensus: Success depends on matching devices to specific neck control and fatigue levels. Generic hardware alone is not enough. Patients recommend seeing an occupational therapist specifically trained in assistive technology. A general rehabilitation clinic is less suitable.

Can I get funding or social security coverage (SGK) for assistive devices like a head mouse in Antalya?

Securing SGK funding for a head mouse in Antalya is difficult. These specialized computer interfaces are usually not listed in the standard medical device legislation. You may find support through local social assistance foundations or provincial family services. To qualify, you'll need to show medical necessity and low-income status.

  • SUT list verification: Consult the Mevzuat Bilgi Sistemi for recent updates on assistive technology codes.
  • Local assistance route: Apply at the district Sosyal Yardımlaşma ve Dayanışma Vakfı offices in Muratpaşa or Kepez.
  • Medical documentation: Get a formal disability report from a rehabilitation physician to justify the device.
  • Official inquiries: Submit a formal petition to the Antalya Social Security Provincial Directorate in Muratpaşa.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While public funding is limited, patients often find more value by choosing clinics like Memorial Antalya Hospital. This JCI-accredited facility serves over 1.6 million patients annually. Their experience with international protocols often helps. They can provide the detailed medical reports needed for external funding applications.

Patient Consensus: Expect a paperwork-heavy process where approval depends on specific office rules. Patients often recommend trying simpler adaptive setups first. Voice control is one option to consider before investing in a head mouse.

Are there local centers in Antalya that provide trial periods for hands-free computer interfaces?

Local centers in Antalya do not offer formal lending libraries for hands-free computer interfaces. To access one, you usually need a clinical evaluation at a private rehabilitation center or at Akdeniz University. Specialized clinics let you test head-controlled devices during occupational therapy sessions. This helps make sure the hardware works for you.

  • Clinical evaluation: Occupational therapists check device compatibility at private rehabilitation centers.
  • University research: Akdeniz University departments occasionally help run research-based trials for assistive technologies.
  • On-site testing: Centers allow supervised device testing rather than home trial periods.
  • Expert consultation: Local distributors arrange clinic-partnered demonstrations for specific medical equipment needs.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Dedicated trial centers are scarce, but major JCI-accredited facilities like Memorial Antalya Hospital serve over 1 million patients annually. These large hospitals often have established logistics for international patients, including guest houses and interpreters. Choosing a high-volume center increases your chances of accessing modern adaptive tools through their specialized physiotherapy and rehabilitation networks.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize that head mice work best when paired with voice commands for daily productivity. They recommend testing setups for at least 20 minutes to monitor potential neck fatigue before committing to a specific interface.
