I cannot recommend Jean more highly
RE: bridge and implants My dental experience for years in the United States just cannot compare. Genna, Alma, Roberto & Alec together form such an effective and responsive team. I felt that I was an excellent hands the entire time, I felt nurtured. These good people were willing to take a lot of time with me. they were willing to answer all of my questions. Even when we were in process, they were willing to take time to make sure that I would be satisfied with our decisions. I spent a fraction of the money that I would’ve spent all my expenses. They are complete and total professionals with modern technology and a true care for their patients. I cannot recommend Jean more highly.
Everything. I’ll add here that the office is a three minute walk from the hotel.
Don’t trust or rely on Hilton’s shuttle service.

We are very satisfied with the quality of work, the professionalism of Dr
This time we contacted the dental center of Mexico Dentavida to Dr. Alberto Guvera. We are very satisfied with the quality of work, the professionalism of Dr. Alberto. But in the case of my husband, a medical mistake was made in Turkish dentistry when installing crowns, which we will try to solve in the near future. Then we will share the results.

Thanks to the Bookimed consultants for their excellent work in providing timely assistance in finding the right clinic in any region of the world. In our case, our family is collaborating for the second time on the problem of dental treatment, the installation of zirconium crowns (autumn 2022, February 2023). I like the individual approach, quick response and understanding of the situation. They are selected qualitatively. not only clinics, but also doctors.

Our Braces Techniques: What Suits You Best?

When considering Braces, it’s important to understand the different techniques and which is best suited for you. Here’s a concise comparison of popular options:

Ceramic Braces

These are orthodontic braces that use clear or tooth-colored brackets to align teeth discretely.

Pros: Less noticeable than metal brackets, making them aesthetically pleasing. Suitable for adults and teens, they offer similar effectiveness to traditional braces with a subtle appearance.
Cons: Ceramic materials are more fragile and may require more care than metal brackets. They can stain if not properly maintained.
Effectiveness: Achieves up to 90% alignment success rate in dental correction.
Duration: 18-24 months
Recovery: Not needed
Best for: Individuals seeking discreet dental alignment. Suitable for mild to moderate bite correction.
Prices: Cost of Ceramic Braces in Mexico from $1500

Lingual Braces

Lingual braces are dental appliances fitted behind the teeth, making them invisible from the front.

Pros: Completely hidden from view, making them ideal for those seeking discretion. They provide effective teeth straightening with a success rate of 95%.
Cons: Lingual braces can cause initial discomfort and speech difficulties, unlike ceramic braces which are less intrusive.
Effectiveness: Achieves up to 95% success in dental alignment.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: Not needed
Best for: Adults and teens requiring discreet orthodontic treatment.

Damon Braces

These are self-ligating orthodontic braces that use a sliding mechanism to hold the wire, allowing teeth to move more freely and comfortably.

Pros: Requires fewer adjustments, reducing orthodontist visits by up to 50%. The sliding mechanism applies less pressure, enhancing comfort compared to traditional metal brackets.
Cons: May not be as discreet as lingual braces, with visibility similar to ceramic braces. Not suitable for all complex orthodontic cases.
Effectiveness: Achieves significant dental alignment with up to 70% fewer extractions.
Duration: 12-24 months
Recovery: Not needed
Best for: Ideal for moderate to severe dental alignment issues in patients aged 12-50.

FAQ about Braces in Mexico

Orthodontic treatment is the method to get a beautiful smile, and dental braces are the most feasible solution to making your smile brilliant. Braces can help you feel more confident and healthy since you will get a corrected bite and straight teeth.

According to the data, approximately 4 million people wear braces in the USA. Many of them visit other countries searching for more affordable orthodontic treatments because American clinics offer high cosmetic dentistry costs.

Why should you travel to Mexico to get braces, and what is the profit? Mexico is renowned for its first-rate dental services and experienced dentists who place braces of different types at a lower price than other states.

Read below all the information about dental braces in Mexico to dive deeper into the topic and to determine why it is worth opting for dental treatment.

What Are Dental Braces?

Braces are the tool in orthodontics to align your teeth and fix other dental problems, like malocclusion, overbite, and other issues with teeth and jaw. It is the only treatment to allow your child to correct the smile at a crucial moment. Most orthodontic treatment patients are under 18, but there are no restrictions to get braces correcting teeth for adults.

How do braces work? Traditional braces consist of brackets, wire, and elastics. All these components take part in the remodelling of your smile. They put pressure on your teeth and move them into the new correct position. This process takes time and may last from 12 months to several years from the first orthodontics appointment.

What Types of Braces Are Available in Mexico?

Traditional braces are made of different materials, determining their type and purpose. Only an orthodontist can sattle which type will be the best for your case. A specialist will prescribe the specific braces according to the patient's dental goals and oral health.

The orthodontic clinics in Mexico provide dental solutions to place different types of braces, namely:

  • Metal braces. It is the oldest (over 100 years old) and, nowadays, one of the most common types of braces applied to tackle problems with teeth. It ensures complex dental aesthetics for a patient’s smile. Traditional metal braces are made of steel or other metal alloys and are primarily used to provide the correct alignment of children's teeth. They constitute metal construction and wire, tied to braces with elastic bands. It is also the most affordable type of braces among all orthodontic options. However, it is the most noticeable, which may be a drawback.
  • Ceramic braces. This type of brace is less visible than metal ones because of the material they are made of. Still, it has almost the same effect on patients. It allows adjusting teeth into a new position to get a more aesthetic smile. A ceramic system is more costly than metal braces and may be colored if the patient will not follow the specified dental rules and provide good care to teeth.
  • Lingual braces. It is similar to traditional braces made of metal, with the same construction — metal brackets, wires, and elastic ties. The only difference is that this braces type is fixed behind the teeth. So nobody even notices you are wearing them. Lingual braces are an acceptable dental treatment for those who need an invisible solution. However, they are less effective and need more time to provide correct adjustments to teeth.
  • Self ligating braces or Damon braces. The construction and materials of such braces are very close to metal or ceramic ones, but there are clips to hold the braces instead of bands.
  • Clear braces or Invisalign. It is a type of transparent brackets that may be used in case of a few dental problems or other issues when combined with other braces. Clear aligners, also called invisible aligners, are a more expensive solution but have the advantages of being better looking and needing fewer appointments to the dentist.

Is It Okay to Get Braces in Another Country?

One of the key reasons patients prefer Mexico for treatment is to cut costs for the same quality of services as in the USA or Europe. It is worth keeping in mind that braces are the long-term solution to major dental issues with teeth and gum. However, it needs several visits to the doctor after braces placement. Just your braces installation in Mexico is over, you may not visit the country all the time you need correction. You can choose a dentist in your country who will adjust your bracket system.

There are benefits of putting braces in Mexico, as follows:

  • Money savings. The braces costs in Mexican clinics are several times lower than in the neighbouring USA. The price range in Mexico is $500-$4,500, depending on the complexity of treatment and braces types; in the USA — $4,000-$8,000.
  • Skilled doctors. All dental team members undergo training to enhance their qualifications and get specific knowledge in dentistry, especially orthodontics.
  • Advanced technologies. Mexican dental centres are equipped with hi-tech solutions to provide services at the highest level — from diagnosis to final treatment. Clinics apply materials with quality assurance from the top world manufacturers.

Mexico offers cost-effective treatment in a variety of medical specialties, including orthodontics. All dental works, like regular braces, implants, or even fillings, are cheaper because of lower dentists’ fees, education, and living itself.
