What is a gastric balloon?
The gastric or intragastric balloon is a short-term medical device aimed to help patients lose excess weight without surgical intervention. It is temporary, but enough effective method to get rid of obesity along with diet and physical activity.
How does gastric balloon in Mexico work?
A soft silicone balloon is inserted into the stomach with the help of an endoscope (tubular instrument passed through the mouth and throat). In the stomach, the balloon is filled with saline occupying the bigger part of the intragastric space. This gives the impression of satiety because the stomach is partially full. How long is the rehabilitation period after intragastric balloon insertion?
The recovery time takes 3 days. After this period, the patient can return to work. Immediately after the gastric balloon procedure, the patient will need to limit food intake. During the first few days, the diet should consist only of liquid food. In 2 weeks after the procedure, the person can begin to try semi-solid, and then solid food.
The intragastric balloon implies that the patient will change the lifestyle and eating habits to healthier ones. The balloon makes it much easier because it consumes a lot of space in the stomach and reduces the amount of food intake.
The procedure for intragastric balloon installing also involves checks by a surgeon to avoid all sorts of complications.

Carlo was amazing! He made sure I knew exactly what to expect every step of the way. There was always someone at the hospital who spoke English, and everyone there made my stay comfortable. Carlo even checked up on me once I was home through my recover several times. I will admit I was scared at first about leaving the US to have the surgery but I’m so glad I did it!

I had a full hysterectomy last month at Hospital de la Familia. I feel like a new person! The hospital was very nice with private rooms, even my husband was able to stay with me! Nulo interés en el bienestar del paciente, ètica mèdica ignorada totalmente para enfocarse en los intereses propios y de sus mèdicos en lugar de la salud de a quièn atienden. Ejecución incorrecta de procedimientos bàsicos y Mienten desde el mostrador, supervisor, responsable de tràmites, etc respecto a las opciones para elegir al mejor mèdico con tal de que escojas al que prefiere el hospital, indican que ya marcaron a tu mèdico y no es cierto y son capaces de decirle que el asunto no es de urgencia cuando si lo es con tal de que escojas sus opciones de casa. Toma de decisiones mèdicas ofreciendo lo màs cómodo para su mèdico en demèrito de la salud del paciente.
