How Much Does Dental Implant Cost in Bangkok?

Dental implant in Bangkok typically costs from $1,100 / ฿37,400 to $1,800 / ฿61,200. The total price depends on the implant brand, the need for bone grafting, and clinic specialization. Patients save around 78% compared to the US, where the procedure costs $4,500 / ฿153,000 on average. Most Bangkok packages include the titanium post, abutment, crown, and digital 3D imaging.

  • All-on-4 dental implants: $8,200 / ฿278,800 to $15,500 / ฿527,000 for full-arch restoration.
  • All-on-6 dental implants: $9,200 / ฿312,800 to $17,800 / ฿605,200 for maximum stability.
  • Straumann dental implants: $1,900 / ฿64,600 to $3,200 / ฿108,800 for premium Swiss technology.
  • Installation of a dental implant with crown: $1,200 / ฿40,800 to $1,800 / ฿61,200.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok is Thailand's primary hub for complex reconstructions, offering deeper specialty depth than Chiang Mai. For the best value, look for clinics with JCI accreditation and American Board-certified specialists. Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC) is a prime example. They use 3D CT scans and Digital Smile Design to ensure precision before surgery starts. Choosing highly trained experts like Dr. Chatchai Kunavisarut, who holds several US-based certifications, ensures premium results even at local prices.

What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it
What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it. My biggest fear was not understanding the treatment plan or feeling rushed, but that wasn’t the case at all. The dentist was very patient and took the time to explain each step to me in detail. It was reassuring. The overall organisation ran smoothly and the whole clinic team were professional and happy to answer my questions. Coordination via Bookimed simplified the whole process, which helped reduce the stress of having a medical appointment abroad. I left with clear information and a good overall impression.

I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism
Hello everyone, like many other people before an operation, I wasn't feeling very well. The staff at the clinic immediately reassured and accompanied me. Believe me or not, I didn't feel a thing. The dental surgeon fitted the 2 implants in 40 minutes, and I had no infections whatsoever. My Bookimed advisor (Péguy) was with me from the start and is still with me today. I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism. Sylvain B.

The wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care
It is a clean hospital and the wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care. The dentist and dental personnel can speak fluent English which is important for most people like I. For wisdom teeth extraction the cost was 20000 baht for 4 teeth( including medication and nurse charge), but it all depends if the teeth has impacted. I would highly recommend the clinic.

FAQ about treatment in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What brands of dental implants are available in Bangkok?

Bangkok dental clinics offer a wide range of global implant brands. Premium Swiss systems like Straumann are available. South Korean options such as Osstem and MIS provide a more cost-effective choice. Major centers like Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC) and About Tooth Dental Clinic are official providers. They work directly with internationally recognized manufacturers.

  • Premium systems: Straumann (Switzerland) and Nobel Biocare (Sweden) are standard for high-durability restorations.
  • Value brands: Osstem and Hiossen from South Korea offer reliable performance at lower price points.
  • Specialized options: MIS and Neodent provide versatile solutions for immediate loading and complex reconstructions.
  • Materials: Clinics offer various options including titanium-zirconium and bone-level tapered implants for better integration.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many patients look for the cheapest brand. However, the real value in Bangkok lies in technical certifications. Clinics like About Tooth Dental Clinic feature dentists certified by the Thai Association of Dental Implantology (TADI). They specifically provide official Straumann systems. This direct partnership often includes longer manufacturer warranties. Budget brands may not offer these.

Patient Consensus: Patients often recommend Swiss brands like Straumann for long-term peace of mind. Korean brands provide a practical middle-ground for value-conscious treatment.

How many trips to Bangkok do I need?

Most dental implant patients need 2 trips to Bangkok. The first visit covers implant placement. The second happens 3 to 6 months later for crown attachment. Some clinics offer immediate-loading implants. For qualified candidates, these can shorten your stay or remove the need for a second trip.

  • Initial trip: Plan 7 to 10 days for consultations, surgery, and early healing checks.
  • Osseointegration period: Wait 3 to 6 months for the implant to fuse with the jawbone.
  • Second trip: Stay 5 to 7 days for abutment fitting and permanent crown placement.
  • One-trip option: Immediate-loading protocols allow crown placement shortly after surgery for specific cases.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a clinic like About Tooth Dental Clinic or SmileBox ensures access to genuine Straumann materials. These premium Swiss implants often heal faster. Basic implants cost $1,100. Upgrading to titanium-zirconium materials can provide higher durability for long-term clinical success.

Patient Consensus: Patients often point out that the total cost remains about 78% lower than US averages, even though the double trip requires planning. With the required healing gaps, many enjoy exploring Bangkok’s temples and street food scene.

Are dental implants in Bangkok safe?

Dental implants in Bangkok are safe when performed by specialists at JCI-accredited facilities. Top clinics use ISO-certified titanium materials from Straumann and Osstem. Many surgeons hold credentials from US universities and belong to the International Team for Implantology. So they follow global standards of care.

  • Specialist qualification: Surgeons often belong to the American Board of Prosthodontics and have US clinical training.
  • Safety accreditation: International hospitals have JCI and ISO certifications, so sterilization protocols are rigorous.
  • Advanced technology: Clinics use 3D CT scanning and CAD/CAM to plan implant placement precisely.
  • Success rates: High-tier clinics report success rates of 95% or more for complex restorations.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics offer low-cost options. However, elite centers like Bangkok International Dental Center provide specialized care with on-site labs. On-site labs allow faster adjustments. Choosing a facility that treats over 15,000 patients a year shows high clinical skill and reliable outcomes.

Patient Consensus: Patients say that success requires multiple visits over several months for proper healing. Patients are most satisfied in the long run when they choose established clinics rather than just the cheapest price.

How do I choose a clinic in Bangkok?

To choose a clinic in Bangkok, you must verify international certifications like JCI. You also need to confirm professional affiliations, such as the Thai Association of Dental Implantology. Focus on clinics that specialize in techniques like All-on-4 or Straumann systems. Choose those along the BTS Sukhumvit line for easy access.

  • Specialized certification: Select dentists certified by the Thai Association of Dental Implantology (TADI) for implant surgery.
  • Technology standards: Make sure the facility uses 3D CT scanning and digital planning for precise placement.
  • Brand authenticity: Confirm clinics use original components from premium brands like Straumann, Osstem, or Peniflex.
  • Transparent pricing: Costs range from $1,100 to $1,800, saving about 78% compared to the US.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Don't just look at the brand of the implant. The best overall value in Bangkok comes from clinics like Dentist at Home. They bundle 3D scans, temporary prosthetics, and even teeth scaling into one price. Premium clinics like SmileBox serve over 1,600 patients annually. But you can avoid extra costs. Just make sure the package includes the final crown and abutment.

Patient Consensus: Patients say the technical quality of dental work is excellent. But you should plan for multiple visits. They recommend staying near the Sukhumvit area. That cuts travel time between appointments.

How long does the dental implant procedure take in Bangkok?

Dental implant procedures in Bangkok typically need 2 separate trips over 3 to 6 months. Initial surgery for a single tooth takes 20 to 60 minutes. Full-arch restorations like All-on-4 may need 7 to 14 days for the first phase.

  • Surgery duration: Experienced surgeons place a single implant in 20 to 60 minutes per tooth.
  • First trip: Plan 5 to 7 days for scans, extractions, and initial titanium post placement.
  • Healing phase: Osseointegration requires a 3 to 6 month wait before the permanent crown is attached.
  • Second trip: Return for 5 to 7 days for abutment fitting and final crown fabrication.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok clinics like Bangkok International Dental Center use on-site digital labs to speed up the second phase. The biological healing time is fixed. Even so, having CAD/CAM technology in-house lets specialists make custom zirconia crowns in days rather than weeks. This often cuts the second stay by 40%.

Patient Consensus: Patients point out that a standard one-week holiday is rarely enough for the full initial workflow. Most recommend allowing at least 10 days for the first visit. Extra time is needed for follow-ups and stitch removal.
