How Much Does Breast Capsulectomy Cost in Thailand?

Breast Capsulectomy in Thailand typically costs from $3,200 / ฿108,800 to $6,000 / ฿204,000. The final price depends on the surgical technique used, surgeon expertise, and hospital accreditation level. Patients save around 64% compared to the US, where the average price is $12,800 / ฿435,200. Packages usually include pre-operative diagnostics, anesthesia, hospital stay, post-operative medications, and local airport-to-hospital transfers.

  • Capsule removal technique: Total en bloc removal typically costs more than partial capsulectomy due to complexity.
  • Combined procedures: Revision packages including implant replacement generally range from 30% to 50% higher than standalone capsulectomy.
  • Facility tier: JCI-accredited hospitals in Bangkok often charge a premium for international safety standards and private suites.
  • Surgeon credentials: Fees may increase for specialists with memberships in ISAPS or the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a specialized center like ID Clinic Bangkok offers high value due to their massive volume of 20,000 procedures. For complex cases, selecting a surgeon like Dr. Kanit Wittayavanichai at MAXi Cosmetic Surgery ensures 20 years of expertise and ASPS membership. Major medical hubs include Bangkok and Phuket, where JCI-accredited facilities provide comprehensive care at a fraction of Western costs.

I am very happy with the care I received
The doctor is very experienced and his recommendations are based on your body type. The staff is very friendly, everyone was always available to answer any questions or needs, even the doctor. The clinic was very clean and comfortable. I am very happy with the care I received. My surgery was perfect, without any problems. Everyone did an incredible job and was concerned about my speedy recovery.
The availability of the doctor for any questions before or after surgery and during my recovery.

About Bookimed service
It was very helpful, they coordinated the type of surgery I wanted, prices, transfers, medical exams, dates, everything. I booked 6 months in advance and thought they would forget about my reservation and it was not like that.. they were pending all the time and any requests I may have. Even when my flight change in hours and dates. They took care and coordinated everything.

The whole experience was excellent from start to finish
The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. My husband and I are very happy with the results. Thank you for the team’s expertise and care.
The results of both breast augmentation and lower blethoplasy was wonderful. The Doctor, nurse Margie, Ice and the other staff were attentive and caring.
I have no negative comments.

Our daughter wants to go back next July for a nose job. Bookimed was excellent at communicating and making sure we were comfortable with each step of the process. The hotel where we stayed had the convenient location and all the amenities we needed. The breakfast was delicious with very accommodating staff.

Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care
Monsplaty, Tummy Tuck and 360 Liposuction. My biggest concern going into this was what the recovery would actually feel like. It's not easy. The most challenging part has definitely been the constant tight feeling, which is something to be prepared for. My surgeon used a combination of liposuction and excision. Right now there is still some swelling, so it’s too early to know how my clothes will fit differently in the end. Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care. It was a professional and supportive environment, and I'm glad I made the choice to go there.
Very clean, very inviting. After care was good too. Everything was quick and easy. Communication via whatsapp made things easier as well. I travelled solo and the staff helped that little extra.
After surgery garments are not forgiving for us longer torso people. They were a bit short which added a lil discomfort when it rolled at the back. Other than that everything was really good.

Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected
Seeing the surgical site for the first time was the moment everything finally felt real. Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected. We used the penile inversion technique, and while the results look promising, the recovery requires a lot of patience and steady commitment to the healing process. My biggest challenge at this stage is definitely the physical discomfort of being seated for a long time. It is a process. The clinic staff has been very attentive during my stay, and I am expecting to have the catheter removed very soon. To anyone else preparing for this surgery, it’s not easy but it is a good experience overall.

I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic
My biggest worry was how the results would actually look and feel afterward. Now that I'm in the early stages of recovery from the fat transfer graft, I can say the outcome is positive. The girth is already noticeably thicker. Everything is still slightly numb, as expected, but the visual change is definitely there. The surgeon and the entire staff were professional and clear with all information, which helped manage my concerns from the beginning. It's a relief. Based on the care I received and the initial results, I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic.

The entire staff and my surgeon were great and supportive through it all
My biggest fear was the recovery, and it’s certainly a process that requires patience. The entire staff and my surgeon were great and supportive through it all. Right now, my chin is still very swollen, so I can't properly see the projection from the large, solid silicone implant yet. The numbness has been the hardest part. My lower lip feels slightly numb, which has made eating the biggest challenge so far. It’s a strange sensation. Despite the temporary side effects of healing, the care I received was solid and I would recommend this clinic.
Really loved the stuff they were very cute and helpful

My breathing is now even better than before
My biggest concern was that the result might look unnatural or that my breathing might be affected. Neither of these things happened. In fact, my breathing is now even better than before. During the open rhinoplasty, a small bump was removed and the bridge of my nose is now, even so soon after the procedure, already straighter, just as I wanted. In addition, the tip of my nose already looks much more defined. The staff and the surgeon were consistently supportive and answered all my questions patiently, which gave me a great deal of reassurance. I felt I was in good hands.

The surgeon and the whole medical team have been absolutely brilliant
I was really worried about the recovery period, and the truth is it hasn’t been as easy as I expected. My stomach is still swollen, and the compression garments are still tight, but the hardest part so far has been dealing with the annoying numb patches. That said, the surgeon and the whole medical team have been absolutely brilliant. The doctor explained to me that he used ultrasound technology (VASER) and removed between 3 and 4 litres of fat, and I felt I was in safe hands with them. Unfortunately, the clinic’s facilities weren’t up to the same standard as the quality of medical care, which is why I’ve given it a lower rating. Overall, I’m optimistic about the final result.
The medical and nursing staff are truly exceptional
The clinic generally needs more space

My surgeon was excellent, a definite 5/5
If you're considering a tummy tuck, know that the recovery is a real process. My surgeon was excellent, a definite 5/5. He performed a full tuck and repositioned my belly button, and everything already feels very tight, which is good. My biggest challenge right now is the compression garment; it's just a constant presence. While the surgeon was fantastic, there were some minor organizational points with the clinic and staff that could have been smoother. It's still too early to see the final flat result with all the healing left to do, but I feel confident in my choice. I would give this clinic a 9/10 recommendation to a friend.
The doctor he is excellent .soft spoken ,attentive and a great surgeon.
Rooms could be bigger so that attendant could stay at night. They have a reclining sofa not suitable for night sleeping. Front desk managers could be more attentive to every detail.

The initial appearance is honestly better than expected, even with all the healing that’s still to come
The initial appearance is honestly better than expected, even with all the healing that’s still to come. Seeing that was a huge relief. The surgeon and staff provided great support, making me feel secure from the start. Recovery is no joke. It was a positive step when the catheter was removed, but managing the dilation sessions has been very challenging. My biggest concern is the swelling, and I'm focused on trusting the process. The care and the surgical foundation are solid, which is why I'm rating everything positively.
Everything was perfect. The staff were kind, professional, and very supportive throughout the whole process. The doctor explained everything clearly and made me feel comfortable and cared for. The clinic was clean, organized, and exceeded my expectations. I’m very happy with my experience and grateful for the excellent care I received.
Nothing to complain about. Everything went smoothly and I was satisfied with the overall experience.

The surgeon and the staff were fantastic from start to finish
My biggest worry was whether I'd see a real difference after having Vaser on multiple areas, especially since they removed over four liters. It’s still early, but the swelling is much less now, and I can definitely see subtle changes taking shape. The surgeon and the staff were fantastic from start to finish. They are a solid team. The main challenge for me is just the compression garment making my skin itchy, but that's part of recovery. While the clinic facilities were generally fine, they weren't on the same level as the medical care itself. It's a process. Overall, I feel this was a worthwhile decision.
Almost 2 weeks post-lipo with Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic. The bruising is fading and my clothes are fitting so much better already. My abdomen feels tighter, waist more defined, and inner thighs no longer rubbing as much when I walk. So happy I took this step for myself.

I can already see the lifted shape has great projection, which is what I was hoping for
My biggest concern going into this was ending up with a shape that looked strange or unnatural. It's a big decision. I'm still very early in my recovery, but I can already see the lifted shape has great projection, which is what I was hoping for. The surgeon and I decided on Motiva implants. The clinic staff and my surgeon were consistently professional and clear in their communication. The most difficult part for me right now is the significant implant tightness across my chest; it's a persistent discomfort you should be prepared for. It's a process. But the surgical work and care were very good.
I had my surgery at this clinic and I’m honestly very happy with the whole experience. From the first consultation to aftercare, everything was handled professionally and smoothly. The team was incredibly supportive and made me feel comfortable and confident every step of the way. A special thank you to the nurse for being so caring, kind, and attentive — it really made a big difference during my recovery. The results have exceeded my expectations, and I truly appreciate the effort and care from the entire team. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone considering surgery.

My biggest worry going into this was the quality of post-operative care, and that's where things fell short. While the surgeon's work was professional, the support from the clinic staff felt disorganized and was a source of stress during a vulnerable time. The clinic itself could also be improved. It’s a very mixed feeling. I can’t judge the aesthetic outcome yet because everything is still far too swollen to see clearly. On a positive note, getting the catheter removed was a definite relief and a good milestone. The medical part was handled, but the care aspect was lacking.
Language was a problem. Food was horrible, no attempt to take into account cultural differences. Had to wait over an hour for scheduled appointments. Minimal care by all. I would not recommend Wansiri Hospital to any of my friends. Staff would not reach out to my wife, when requested, to resolve problems.

I can honestly say the initial appearance is better than expected
My biggest worry was what the final result would look like. I can honestly say the initial appearance is better than expected. The surgeon used the penile inversion technique, and both the surgeon and the staff have been excellent. Recovery is, of course, a challenge. The catheter is manageable with proper care, and I am following the dilation schedule as instructed, but sitting for long periods is currently very difficult. It’s a real process. For anyone else getting ready for this, my advice is to be calm ☺️ and be happy for the wonderful physical change coming your way!

The surgeon and staff were very capable and provided solid care from start to finish
The main thing I worried about was the recovery, and it is definitely a process. At 15 days post-op, sleeping on my back is hard, and the pain is still moderate, though it's manageable. It's not easy. I’m glad that my nipple sensitivity feels normal, which was a specific concern since my surgeon used an incision around the nipple. The surgeon and staff were very capable and provided solid care from start to finish. My best advice for anyone else is what got me through the tougher moments: have patience and trust the procedure.
Very warm gesture I have been experienced from doctor and staff very cooperative and responsible.
Nothing all things were up to the mark

FAQ about Breast Capsulectomy in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Which hospitals and surgeons are considered top-tier in Thailand for breast capsulectomy?

Top-tier hospitals for breast capsulectomy in Thailand include JCI-accredited facilities like Yanhee International Hospital, Bumrungrad International Hospital, and Wansiri Hospital. Leading surgeons such as Dr. Krairit Tiyakul and Dr. Siripong Luxanawong specialize in complex en bloc removal and breast reconstruction within these high-volume centers.

  • Surgeon expertise: Dr. Krairit Tiyakul at Yanhee has 33 years of experience in revision.
  • Clinical volume: Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic has performed over 20,000 procedures.
  • Hospital accreditation: Bangpakok 9 International and Yanhee maintain rigorous JCI safety and quality standards.
  • Success rates: Wansiri Hospital reports a 99% success rate for aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many patients focus on major hospital names, the most successful outcomes often follow specific surgeons who transitioned from large institutions to specialized private centers. For instance, Dr. Siripong Luxanavong, now at ID Clinic, brings decades of experience from Yanhee Hospital, offering specialized attention in a more boutique environment without sacrificing clinical safety.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize prioritizing surgeons with specific en bloc capsulectomy experience over general cosmetic skills. They recommend planning a 14-day stay and consulting multiple experts via video to review pathology protocols before traveling.

What are the recognized surgical techniques for capsulectomy?

Recognized surgical techniques for capsulectomy include total, partial, and en bloc excision to remove internal scar tissue around breast implants. Surgeons in Thailand often utilize advanced tools like ultrasonic scalpels or electrocautery via inframammary or periareolar approaches to ensure patient safety and aesthetic results.

  • En bloc capsulectomy: Removes the implant and intact capsule together to prevent internal leakage.
  • Total capsulectomy: Extracts 100% of the scar tissue, often in sections after implant removal.
  • Partial capsulectomy: Removes only problematic sections, usually the anterior portion near the skin.
  • Capsulotomy: Involves making surgical incisions to release tension without removing the tissue itself.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many worldwide centers perform standard excisions, specialized Thai surgeons like Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic Bangkok have completed over 20,000 operations. This high volume often leads to refined techniques using energy-assisted dissection. These tools minimize bleeding and promote faster healing compared to traditional manual blunt dissection methods.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize choosing the inframammary approach for better visualization during complete removals. Many suggest getting the specific reasoning for a partial versus total removal in writing before surgery.

What is the typical recovery timeline for international patients?

International patients undergoing breast capsulectomy in Thailand require 7 to 14 days in-country before flying home. Initial recovery focuses on drain management and monitoring for complications like seroma. Patients typically return to light activity within 2 weeks, with full physical recovery reaching stabilization by 6 weeks.

  • Travel window: Stay in Thailand for 10–14 days to ensure safe air travel.
  • Peak recovery: Swelling and discomfort typically peak between days 3 and 7 post-surgery.
  • Drain removal: Surgeons usually remove surgical drains and check stitches within 7–10 days.
  • Activity limits: Avoid heavy lifting for 4 weeks to prevent internal tissue damage.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many focus on the 2-week travel window, the surgeon's experience significantly impacts early healing. Doctors like Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic Bangkok have performed over 20,000 procedures. High-volume surgeons often use techniques that minimize tissue trauma, potentially reducing the most difficult 3-day peak inflammatory phase.

Patient Consensus: Many suggest booking flexible flights and a hotel near the clinic for easy follow-ups. Consistent use of surgical bras and tracking swelling daily helps determine if travel is safe by day 10.

Will additional procedures such as a breast lift or fat transfer be necessary?

Additional procedures are not always mandatory but depend on your skin elasticity, implant size, and degree of sagging post-removal. Surgeons in Thailand often recommend a breast lift for significant ptosis or fat transfer to restore natural volume and camouflage empty spaces without synthetic implants.

  • Breast lift necessity: Typically required if nipples point downward or sit below the inframammary fold.
  • Volume restoration: Fat transfer effectively fills deflated areas, often used as an alternative to new implants.
  • Intraoperative assessment: Thai surgeons frequently make final decisions during surgery based on actual tissue behavior.
  • Patient age factor: Patients under 40 with small implants often avoid lifts through naturally higher elasticity.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Analysis of Bangkok clinics like ID Clinic shows a shift toward fat grafting during the same session. Dr. Siripong Luxanawong and other top surgeons often use this technique to avoid a second recovery period. While a capsulectomy in Thailand costs $3,200 to $6,000, combining it with a lift early can prevent the metabolic and physical strain of sequential surgeries, which patients frequently describe as much more taxing.

Patient Consensus: Many suggest waiting 6 to 12 months before committing to a lift as skin may naturally retract. However, those with significant `bottoming out` often regret not planning the lift upfront to avoid a second operation.
