Medical team was as expected, nurses were very good. Language barrier was an issue, after care support was nil, staff were off sick, one nurse working with inpatient and me as outpatient. I was not ambulatory, so she came to me. Very rushed, no explanation of meds or paperwork. Medical certificate pre filled out before final surgery was even done. Surgeons tummy tuck was done well, neck lift - good, butt lift and breast lift not done, fat transfer instead, not what I wanted. Face lift was only on upper eye lid and did not work as expecterd, was looking for blepharoplasty, Upper and lower eye lids. Surgeon did not know what I meant. Still have wrinkles around eyes, still have over hanging eyelid in brow area. Not recommended if you have additional health issues, I have anaphylaxis to wheat which means all medications need to be checked, nurses and doctor did not know what I meant, so I could not take food or medication there. Also, most staff did not understand my request for wheat free foods- became a big issue. Perfectly fine to attend this clinic if you are in good health and have no other life threatening health issues. Below photo on left is what I got, photo on right is what I wanted. AS you can see in the other e photos, myafor arm adn upper arms still have excess skin and wrinkles, my inner thighs still have too much skin and lots of wrinkles. I had asked for VASER lyposuction, this liquifies fat and shrinks skin, not sure I got that type of liposuction. This bruising 2 weeks post surgery.
Nurses were wonderful
Surgeon was impatient and unwilling to try to understand my needs, again language was an issue
About Bookimed service
Although staff promised assistance all the way through, this is not the reality, there was often a significant time lag, and in case of emergency that was very unhelpful

Our Facelift Techniques: What Suits You Best?

When considering Facelift, it’s important to understand the different techniques and which is best suited for you. Here’s a concise comparison of popular options:

Mini Facelift

A mini facelift is a cosmetic surgery that tightens facial skin for a youthful appearance with minimal incisions.

Pros: Less invasive than deep plane facelift. Faster recovery time, typically around 50% quicker than traditional facelifts. Ideal for mild to moderate sagging.
Cons: Results may not be as long-lasting as a deep plane facelift, typically lasting 3-5 years. Limited to addressing only minor sagging and wrinkles.
Effectiveness: Success rate of 85-90% for achieving desired youthful appearance.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: About 1-2 weeks
Best for: Addressing early signs of aging in the lower face, such as jowls and minor sagging.
Prices: Cost of Mini Facelift in Thailand from $3,700

Endoscopic Facelift

A minimally invasive facial rejuvenation surgery using small incisions and a camera to lift and tighten skin.

Pros: Minimally invasive with smaller scars. Faster recovery time compared to deep plane facelift. Reduced risk of nerve damage by 30%.
Cons: Limited to mild to moderate sagging. Not suitable for extensive skin laxity as deep plane facelift.
Effectiveness: 85% success rate in achieving desired aesthetic enhancement.
Duration: 2-3 hours
Recovery: About 1-2 weeks
Best for: Forehead, cheeks, and midface areas. Ideal for addressing early signs of aging in patients aged 35-50.
Prices: Cost of Endoscopic facelift in Thailand from $6,720

AccuTite Facelift

AccuTite facelift is a minimally invasive procedure using radiofrequency technology for precise skin tightening and contouring.

Pros: Minimally invasive with no large incisions. Quicker recovery compared to traditional facelifts. 90% of patients report satisfaction with results. Ideal for targeting small, delicate areas like the eyelids and jowls.
Cons: Limited to small areas, not suitable for extensive sagging. Results may not be as long-lasting as a deep plane facelift.
Effectiveness: Achieves up to 30% skin tightening in treated areas.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: About 2-7 days for normal activities.
Best for: Treating fine lines, small areas of sagging, and improving skin texture on the face and neck.
Prices: Cost of AccuTite facelift in Thailand from $2,900

Deep Plane Facelift

A deep plane facelift is a surgical facelift technique focusing on repositioning deeper facial tissues for a natural appearance.

Pros: Delivers long-lasting results by repositioning muscle layers. Achieves more natural outcomes, reducing the need for future procedures by up to 50%.
Cons: More invasive than mini or endoscopic facelifts, resulting in longer recovery and higher risk of complications.
Effectiveness: Offers a 90% patient satisfaction rate with results lasting up to 10-15 years.
Duration: 3-4 hours
Recovery: 2-3 weeks for initial recovery, with full healing in 3-6 months.
Best for: Midface sagging, deep nasolabial folds, and jowls. Ideal for significant facial aging signs.
Prices: Cost of Deep Plane Facelift in Thailand from $4,500

All You Need to Know about Facelift in Thailand

What is a Facelift?

faq image

A facelift, medically known as rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that tightens and lifts the skin on the face and neck to reduce sagging, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. Addressing the underlying facial tissues provides a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

💡The main goal of a face lift is to:

  • restore a youthful shape to the face by tightening the skin;

  • lifting sagging areas;

  • smoothing wrinkles, especially around the jowls, chin, and neck.

This procedure is for those with noticeable age-related changes like sagging skin, loss of facial volume, deep wrinkles, and deep nasolabial folds.

Options and Techniques for the Face lift in Thailand

Facelift techniques vary based on patient needs and desired outcomes. Here are some standard options:

  • Classic facelift. The traditional method involves incisions along the hairline and ears. Provides long-lasting results but requires a longer recovery.

  • Innovative techniques. Laser, ultrasound, and radiofrequency methods. Minimally invasive, with reduced recovery time and more precise results.

  • Thread lift. Non-surgical method using threads under the skin to lift the face. Ideal for mild aging signs with minimal downtime.

  • Mini facelift. Less invasive than a full facelift. Targets the lower face, ideal for mild to moderate sagging, with a shorter recovery period.

  • Hyaluronic acid threads lifting. Injectable treatment to lift and tighten skin with no incisions. A quick, non-surgical option for subtle rejuvenation.

Patients receive detailed instructions during virtual consultations to prepare for the surgery. These instructions cover aspects such as smoking cessation, medication adjustments, necessary items for the hospital, and fasting guidelines.

💚The surgeon will recommend the best technique based on the patient’s needs and desired results.

Comparison with Other Procedures

A facelift differs from other facial surgeries like brow lifts or neck lift surgery, which focus on specific face areas. While a facelift provides overall rejuvenation, other procedures specifically target the problematic region.

Facelift Entire face and neck Overall facial rejuvenation 2–3 weeks
Brow lift Forehead and eyebrows Lifting brows and reducing forehead wrinkles 1–2 weeks
Neck lift Neck and jawline Tightening sagging skin and improving jawline 2–3 weeks

Who is a Candidate for Face Rejuvenation?

A facial lift in Thailand is ideal for individuals who meet these conditions.

  • Age. Typically between 40 and 70 years old.

  • Good health. Candidates should be in overall good health.

  • Visible signs of aging. The procedure is suited for those with sagging skin, volume loss, jowls, and noticeable wrinkles.

  • Realistic expectations. A facial rejuvenation procedure offers significant results but does not prevent future aging.

When surgery may not be recommended?

  • Chronic health conditions. Those with heart disease, severe diabetes, or other serious health issues may face higher surgical risks.

  • Mental health issues. Individuals with unrealistic expectations or mental health concerns may not be ideal candidates.

  • Active smoking. It can negatively impact healing.

💚Always consult with a qualified surgeon to evaluate individual suitability for aesthetic facial surgery.

How is Facelift Surgery in Thailand Performed?

Before surgery, patients will thoroughly consult their surgeon to assess their skin condition, discuss their goals, and determine the most suitable technique. In Thailand, the procedure is typically done under general anaesthetic, although local anesthesia may be used for less invasive methods.

  • Surgical duration: A face rejuvenation usually takes 3 to 5 hours, depending on the extent of the procedure and the techniques used.

  • 🛏 Recovery. Recovery from anti-aging facelift typically takes 7 to 10 days, with most patients resuming normal activities within 2 to 3 weeks. Full results are often visible within 3 to 6 months.

Recovery and Rehabilitation After Anti-aging facelift

Post-surgery care is crucial for ensuring the best results.

After the surgery, patients will need to follow specific instructions from their surgeon, such as:

- avoiding heavy physical activity;

- protecting the skin from the sun;

- and attending follow-up appointments.

Duration of recovery. Initial swelling and bruising are common and usually subside within the first few weeks. Full recovery takes about 3 to 6 months.

🚫 Restrictions. Patients should avoid strenuous exercise for at least 4 to 6 weeks to allow the skin to heal correctly.

Risks and Possible Complications of a Thailand Facelift

Facelifts are generally considered safe, primarily when performed by qualified surgeons.

For example, a comprehensive review of SMAS facelift techniques involving 6,086 patients found over 85% patient satisfaction.

faq image

👉As with any surgical procedure, a facelift comes with risks, including:

  • ⚠️ Side effects. Swelling, bruising, and discomfort are common and typically resolve within the first few weeks.

  • ⚠️ Complications. Complications such as infection, scarring, or nerve damage may occur in rare cases. Issues like swelling and keloid formation can occur at the incision site.

Choosing an experienced surgeon and following post-surgery instructions can minimize these risks.

🚫 Restrictions. No intense exercise for at least 4 to 6 weeks to let the skin heal.

Results: When to Expect the Effect?

Patients see immediate results after surgery and full results in 3 to 6 months.

💡Results are long-lasting, but as we age, some patients may choose to do touch-up procedures to maintain their youthful appearance.

The goal of the surgery is to improve contour and achieve a more defined and aesthetically pleasing facial shape.

Why Choose a Facelift in Thailand?

Cosmetic surgery is becoming more and more popular in Thailand, and the industry is expected to keep growing steadily, with experts predicting it will increase by about 14.4% every year from 2024 to 2030. By 2030, the total revenue from aesthetic surgery procedures could reach nearly $863 million.

👉Facial cosmetic procedures, including facelifts, are the most sought-after category in Thailand's aesthetic market, accounting for approximately 47% of all cosmetic procedures performed domestically.
