I’m feeling better than expected this early on
My main worries before the procedure were the recovery process and the final look of the scars. My surgeon was very direct about both, clearly explaining the realistic results, the swelling timeline, and exactly where the incisions for my full neck lift would be placed behind the ears. This honesty was appreciated. The procedure was done under general anesthesia, and I’m feeling better than expected this early on. The clinic’s support has been solid; they gave me a clear aftercare guide and have been easy to reach with questions. It was also a relief that there were no additional expenses on top of the quoted price.

The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations
Waking up, I felt groggy but managed. The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations. The incision was placed under the breast, which is what I wanted. I am still in the early recovery phase, and it has its challenges. My pain has lessened to a mild discomfort, but sleeping through the night is difficult, and my nipples are uncomfortably hypersensitive. Overall, the medical care was solid, though the recovery process itself is demanding. It’s a serious undertaking.

Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care
Monsplaty, Tummy Tuck and 360 Liposuction. My biggest concern going into this was what the recovery would actually feel like. It's not easy. The most challenging part has definitely been the constant tight feeling, which is something to be prepared for. My surgeon used a combination of liposuction and excision. Right now there is still some swelling, so it’s too early to know how my clothes will fit differently in the end. Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care. It was a professional and supportive environment, and I'm glad I made the choice to go there.
Very clean, very inviting. After care was good too. Everything was quick and easy. Communication via whatsapp made things easier as well. I travelled solo and the staff helped that little extra.
After surgery garments are not forgiving for us longer torso people. They were a bit short which added a lil discomfort when it rolled at the back. Other than that everything was really good.

Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected
Seeing the surgical site for the first time was the moment everything finally felt real. Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected. We used the penile inversion technique, and while the results look promising, the recovery requires a lot of patience and steady commitment to the healing process. My biggest challenge at this stage is definitely the physical discomfort of being seated for a long time. It is a process. The clinic staff has been very attentive during my stay, and I am expecting to have the catheter removed very soon. To anyone else preparing for this surgery, it’s not easy but it is a good experience overall.

The staff deserves a special mention for being so supportive
One of my biggest worries was the potential for hidden costs, but I was relieved to find there were no additional expenses on top of what the clinic quoted. The staff deserves a special mention for being so supportive. They've stayed in touch and have been very easy to reach, which is reassuring during recovery from my traditional liposuction on two areas. What stood out about my surgeon was how carefully he marked the areas before we went into the operating room. My recovery is going about as expected so far. The whole process was handled professionally.

The assistants and the doctors were great, clear explanations, details. The care from the assistant before operation and after, the next day it was great. However, the grab taxis for consultations were not very comfortable—not spacious, not comfortable, old tapestry, smell inside, which made us feel annoyed before surgery when already nervous and irritated. When we came back for post-operative checking we already made an appointment but in the end we had to wait 2 hours more from the appointed hour.

Just trust them
What really stood out was sitting with my doctor before the procedure to draw the beard shape together. That personal approach made a huge difference. Honestly, so far I'm feeling better than expected. The procedure was done using the FUE technique. The clinic’s support afterward has been great; they provided a clear aftercare guide and have stayed in touch with me. It was also a relief that there were no additional expenses on top of what I had paid. My advice for a future patient? Just trust them. They know what they are doing!
Excellent staff. Really took care of me. Wjile the full effects of my procedure will take several months to show. I'm very pleased so far of the outcome. They are very accommodating and generous with their time
Some language issues but some of the staff speak English well enough that it really isn't a problem

I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic
My biggest worry was how the results would actually look and feel afterward. Now that I'm in the early stages of recovery from the fat transfer graft, I can say the outcome is positive. The girth is already noticeably thicker. Everything is still slightly numb, as expected, but the visual change is definitely there. The surgeon and the entire staff were professional and clear with all information, which helped manage my concerns from the beginning. It's a relief. Based on the care I received and the initial results, I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic.

What truly stood out was my surgeon, who was honest about realistic results from the start and personally handled both the consultation and the surgery
I was thinking that going into a revision was getting unrealistic promises. What truly stood out was my surgeon, who was honest about realistic results from the start and personally handled both the consultation and the surgery. It gave me confidence. My alarplasty was done to correct an asymmetric nose, and while I'm still in the early stages of healing, it’s really too early to tell what the final outcome will be. The staff were supportive, providing a clear aftercare guide for my recovery at home. I also appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I had already paid the clinic.
Caring nurses & Dr. was nice

the care provided by the surgeon and the staff was impeccable
My one-off operation went very well and the care provided by the surgeon and the staff was impeccable, apart from a few minor language issues. However, you should be prepared for a few additional costs that were not included in the original price: we had to pay for the transfers between the hotel and the clinic ourselves, and the wound care supplies were insufficient, which amounted to a mid-double-digit sum in total. My most important tip for future patients would be to make absolutely sure you clarify any dietary requirements (vegetarian/halal/...) with the clinic before you arrive.
The coordination team is very dedicated and always available. The staff are consistently very friendly and go out of their way to help. A very comprehensive package with extensive, thorough preliminary examinations and no hidden costs. A superbly equipped single room, including a sofa bed for an accompanying person.
Contrary to what was advertised, there was no interpreter. The nursing staff, in particular, did not always have a good enough command of English to explain everything clearly and in detail. The consultation with the surgeon was less detailed than expected. It wasn’t always entirely clear which services were included in the package and which weren’t (particularly transfers) – but there were no major hidden costs. Hospital food/light meals after operations are always a challenge, and perhaps even more so in a different cultural context – I wasn’t asked about any specific dietary preferences, so anyone who absolutely needs vegetarian, vegan, kosher or halal food should definitely clarify this in advance; in my opinion, the hospital bed was very hard, which is significantly more uncomfortable when you can’t move around much

The most reassuring part of the whole process was sitting with the surgeon before we started
The most reassuring part of the whole process was sitting with the surgeon before we started. He took the time to draw the hairline with me and clearly explained the entire FUE extraction and implantation process, which helped manage my expectations for the 2,000-3,000 graft procedure. Now in the early stages of healing, I'm feeling about as expected. The clinic has stayed in touch, which is good. Overall, it was a solid experience with the surgeon and staff, and I appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I was quoted.

The entire staff and my surgeon were great and supportive through it all
My biggest fear was the recovery, and it’s certainly a process that requires patience. The entire staff and my surgeon were great and supportive through it all. Right now, my chin is still very swollen, so I can't properly see the projection from the large, solid silicone implant yet. The numbness has been the hardest part. My lower lip feels slightly numb, which has made eating the biggest challenge so far. It’s a strange sensation. Despite the temporary side effects of healing, the care I received was solid and I would recommend this clinic.
Really loved the stuff they were very cute and helpful

My breathing is now even better than before
My biggest concern was that the result might look unnatural or that my breathing might be affected. Neither of these things happened. In fact, my breathing is now even better than before. During the open rhinoplasty, a small bump was removed and the bridge of my nose is now, even so soon after the procedure, already straighter, just as I wanted. In addition, the tip of my nose already looks much more defined. The staff and the surgeon were consistently supportive and answered all my questions patiently, which gave me a great deal of reassurance. I felt I was in good hands.

The surgeon and the whole medical team have been absolutely brilliant
I was really worried about the recovery period, and the truth is it hasn’t been as easy as I expected. My stomach is still swollen, and the compression garments are still tight, but the hardest part so far has been dealing with the annoying numb patches. That said, the surgeon and the whole medical team have been absolutely brilliant. The doctor explained to me that he used ultrasound technology (VASER) and removed between 3 and 4 litres of fat, and I felt I was in safe hands with them. Unfortunately, the clinic’s facilities weren’t up to the same standard as the quality of medical care, which is why I’ve given it a lower rating. Overall, I’m optimistic about the final result.
The medical and nursing staff are truly exceptional
The clinic generally needs more space

FAQ about Turbinate reduction in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is turbinate reduction surgery in Thailand safe?

Turbinate reduction surgery in Thailand is safe when performed at accredited facilities in Bangkok and Phuket. Leading hospitals maintain safety through JCI accreditation and ISO standards. Specialist clinics often use dual-specialist supervision including anaesthetists and cardiologists to monitor patients.

  • Clinical standards: Facilities like Asia Cosmetic Hospital maintain JCI and ISO international quality certifications.
  • Specialist oversight: Operations are often supervised by both anaesthetists and cardiologists for safety.
  • Clinical technology: Wansiri Hospital uses high-grade air filtration and touchless features to prevent infection.
  • Surgeon experience: Leading Bangkok clinics serve 2,000 to 4,000 international and local patients annually.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While safety is verified, Australian patients should check if the clinic serves international cases regularly. ID Clinic Bangkok and Wansiri Hospital both specialise in treating Australians. This helps the staff understand Western medical expectations and provides support during recovery.

Patient Consensus: Safety in Thailand depends on choosing conservative surgeons who explain the risk of dryness. Patients suggest confirming your diagnosis first. Proper aftercare and clear communication with the surgeon often lead to the best results.

What is the procedure for turbinate reduction in Bangkok and how does it work?

Turbinate reduction in Bangkok is a small procedure that shrinks swollen nasal tissues to improve breathing. Surgeons typically use radiofrequency ablation or microdebrider techniques to widen the airway. Prices range from $1,300 to $2,500, saving Australians up to 65% compared to local costs.

  • Technique variety: Clinics use radiofrequency, cautery, or microdebriders to treat chronic nasal congestion.
  • Outpatient setting: Procedures take 10–20 minutes under local anaesthesia with light sedation.
  • Accredited facilities: Highly rated centres like Asia Cosmetic Hospital hold Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation.
  • Rapid recovery: Patients generally return to normal activities within 1–3 weeks after initial crusting heals.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok clinics often combine turbinate reduction with septoplasty, which costs between $2,400 and $3,100. Data shows clinics like Wansiri Hospital use Clean Room standard theatres with specialised filtration. These infrastructure choices significantly lower post-operative infection risks for international patients.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand recommend asking for mucosa-preserving techniques to avoid long-term dryness. Many experienced temporary swelling but reported significant breathing improvements once the initial healing phase passed.

What is the typical recovery period for turbinate reduction in Thailand?

Recovery for turbinate reduction in Thailand typically spans 2 to 6 weeks for full healing. Most patients return to work or school within 1 to 3 days after radiofrequency or laser procedures. Traditional surgical methods usually require 7 days before resuming normal routines.

  • Technique impact: Radiofrequency or laser procedures allow for faster 1–3 day recovery periods.
  • Traditional surgery: Resection or cold steel techniques often require 1 week of initial rest.
  • Healing timeline: Internal nasal tissues settle fully after approximately 2 to 6 weeks.
  • Activity restrictions: Heavy lifting and strenuous exercise must be avoided for 1–2 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok clinics like Asia Cosmetic Hospital often hold JCI accreditation. This means surgical standards match those in Australia. While turbinate reduction is minimally invasive, staying in Thailand for at least 7 to 10 days is recommended. This allows surgeons to perform post-operative cleaning before the flight home.

Patient Consensus: Breathing often feels worse before it improves due to temporary swelling and internal crusting. Patients in Thailand recommend keeping a light schedule for the first fortnight while congestion resolves.

How do I choose the best clinic for turbinate reduction in Bangkok?

Choose the best clinic for turbinate reduction in Bangkok by prioritising Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited facilities. These should have specialised ear, nose, and throat (ENT) departments. Verify surgeons hold certifications from the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand. They should offer modern techniques like radiofrequency or coblation.

  • Accreditation status: Look for JCI or ISO certifications at facilities like Asia Cosmetic Hospital.
  • Clinical infrastructure: Use hospitals that follow clean room standards with effective air filtration systems.
  • Surgeon qualifications: Verify board certification in ENT surgery. This confirms specialised expertise in nasal airways.
  • Clinical volume: Select high-capacity centres like Wansiri Hospital. This clinic serves 2,000+ international patients annually.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok clinics often bundle turbinate reduction with septoplasty for around $2,400. While standalone reduction starts from $1,300, addressing a deviated septum simultaneously often prevents redo surgeries. Most JCI-accredited hospitals in the city report complication rates near 0% for these combined procedures.
