The analyses did not reveal autism in the child, we are happy
I liked everything, I was a little scared when my son was taken to the mrt, but thank you everything went well, the analyses did not reveal autism in the child, we are happy, the cause of zprr is not known. Speech therapy and vitamins are prescribed. Further time will show. The clinic is clean and comfortable. However, the price for pulling a tooth was significantly high compared to other clinics because at that moment I had a toothache. Significantly high is 10 times more expensive, but in principle, the clinic is large, clean, and the devices are new.

Expert Overview about Autism Treatment in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Who are the top-rated autism specialists in Turkey?

Top-rated autism specialists in Turkey include Prof. Dr. Erdal Karaöz for regenerative medicine, Dr. Lale Allahyarova for psychosomatic therapies, and Dr. Mukhtar Mursalli for behavioral play therapy. These experts specialize in neurodevelopmental care at JCI-accredited centers like NP Istanbul Brain Hospital and Liv Hospital Ulus.

  • Stem cell expertise. Prof. Dr. Erdal Karaöz leads clinical trials for autism using mesenchymal stem cells.
  • Childhood psychiatry. Dr. Lale Allahyarova uses rTMS and Deep TMS to treat developmental disorders.
  • Behavioral interventions. Dr. Mukhtar Mursalli specializes in play therapy and CBT for children and adolescents.
  • Neurological research. Assistant Professor Elvan Ciftci combines a PhD in neuroscience with specialized autism clinical care.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data reveals that many top Turkish autism specialists hold dual expertise in psychiatry and neuroscience. For example, doctors at NP Istanbul Brain Hospital often combine clinical diagnosis with advanced neuroimaging and brain mapping. This integration helps families receive targeted therapy plans rather than general behavioral advice.

Patient Consensus: Families appreciate doctors who use visual schedules and patient observation to build social skills over time. Parents noticed faster progress when specialists combined speech therapy with ABA techniques in a holistic environment.

How do I choose the right autism doctor in Turkey?

Select a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry or neurology who holds certification from the Turkish Medical Association. Prioritize doctors at JCI-accredited centers like NP Istanbul Brain Hospital or Liv Hospital Ulus. They should offer multidisciplinary care, including ABA therapy and advanced neuroimaging, to handle complex developmental needs.

  • Academic credentials. Look for professors like Dr. Nevzat Tarhan who have published over 150 research articles.
  • Specialized training. Choose experts with international fellowships, such as Dr. Erdal Karaöz who trained at Harvard.
  • Treatment volume. Specialists like Dr. Icsel Duru Yildirim have performed over 1,100 autism-related treatments.
  • Clinical focus. Ensure the doctor specializes in autism spectrum disorders and uses tools like QEEG and MRI.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Patients seeking innovative care should look for specialists who combine psychiatry with regenerative medicine. At Liv Hospital Ulus, Prof. Erdal Karaöz leads a GMP-certified lab. He focuses on stem cell therapy for autism, which is a rare combination of clinical research and practical treatment not found in most standard psychiatric clinics.

Patient Consensus: Families emphasize the importance of finding a specialist who listens patiently rather than rushing toward medication. Many found that private child psychiatrists using structured assessments like ADOS provided much more clarity than general public evaluations. They also noted that clinics with translators and coordinated logistics made the diagnostic process much less stressful.

Will there be a language barrier when speaking to doctors?

Language barriers are rarely an issue when visiting autism specialists in Turkey. Many top psychiatrists and neurologists trained in the USA or UK. Clinics often provide dedicated interpreters who handle all communication. Large private hospitals in Istanbul typically have staff fluent in English and Russian.

  • International training. Many specialists like Dr. Yakup Erdogan completed clinical training in England.
  • Multilingual doctors. Some specialists like Dr. Elvin Guliyev are fluent in English and Russian.
  • Professional interpreters. Bookimed provides coordinators who handle doctor communication and language logistics.
  • Academic backgrounds. Professors like Dr. Sinem Zeynep Metin are fluent in both English and French.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many doctors are fluent, patient records and medical histories use technical terms. Bringing a digital summary of your child's behavior helps doctors review cases faster. Specialists at centers like NPIstanbul Brain Hospital often use English-language peer-reviewed research in their practice.

Patient Consensus: Parents found that larger Istanbul clinics have the most English speakers. They recommend bringing written notes about a child's habits to ensure every detail is understood during the visit.

Do Turkish doctors offer advanced autism treatments?

Turkish doctors offer advanced autism treatments including stem cell therapy and rTMS at JCI-accredited clinics in Istanbul. Specialists like Prof. Dr. Erdal Karaöz and Dr. Lale Allahyarova combine regenerative medicine with psychosomatic therapies to provide intensive care for international patients.

  • Stem cell therapy. Prof. Dr. Erdal Karaöz leads clinical trials using GMP-certified stem cell protocols.
  • Neuromodulation techniques. Specialists use rTMS and Deep TMS to modulate brain activity in children.
  • Child psychiatry expertise. Dr. Icsel Duru Yildirim has performed 1,100+ treatments for developmental disorders.
  • Neuroscience-based care. Dr. Elvan Ciftci integrates neuroscience research into holistic autism spectrum disorder management.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Patient data shows Turkish specialists often differentiate themselves through international training at Harvard or University of Leicester. This allows them to offer both behavioral therapy and neurological techniques–like 4D-radiotherapy–at a single facility in Istanbul. Choosing a doctor with both psychiatry and neuroscience credentials ensures a more integrated diagnostic approach.

Patient Consensus: Parents often feel initial hope with advanced therapies but emphasize the importance of long-term behavioral support. Many noted a comfortable hospital experience in Istanbul while valuing clear communication during intensive diagnostic evaluations.
