How Much Does Stem cell therapy for psoriasis Cost in Turkey?

Stem cell therapy for psoriasis in Turkey typically costs from $4,500 to $7,500. The final price depends on cell volume, the source of cells, and the clinic location. Patients save around 68% compared to the US, where this procedure costs $18,500 on average. Most Turkish protocols include medical consultations, laboratory tests, stem cell processing, and VIP airport transfers.

  • Cell volume tiers: Prices correlate with the amount of cells administered during the systemic IV infusion.
  • Stem cell source: Allogeneic umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal cells often cost more than autologous fat-derived cells.
  • Medical hubs: Most specialized regenerative medicine facilities are located in Istanbul, Antalya, and Ankara.
  • Advanced protocols: Combining stem cell therapy with ozone therapy or PRP can increase the total cost.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a clinic in Istanbul offers the highest value due to integrated dermatological expertise. Facilities like Istanbul Care Clinic combine specialized dermatology with regenerative protocols to target skin health. For complex cases, Memorial Göztepe Hospital provides 300 beds and international standards in a modern 81,000 m² facility. This ensures patients receive hospital-grade safety alongside advanced aesthetic and reconstructive technology.

The surgeon and the medical team were brilliant and explained everything to me, which put me at ease
My biggest concern was the procedure itself and the potential side effects. Fortunately, the surgeon and the medical team were brilliant and explained everything to me, which put me at ease. It has now been 15 days since my umbilical cord stem cell treatment. To be honest, I haven’t noticed any changes yet, which is to be expected at this early stage. There is still some pain when I touch the injection site. I’ve been sticking to the post-treatment restrictions most of the time, and the clinic itself was good but not entirely modern, which is why I’ve given it four stars. Overall, it was a good experience and now I just need to be patient.

May the peace and mercy of God be with you. As a great program, the people who use it are great. The answer is excellent, but the last time was through MC Hospital Türkiye. The translator is a man named Issa. It is very weak in translation and does not translate. Why is this from the words of the doctor? Because the doctor spoke for a long time, and the translation was short, so there was a lot of things. It does not translate for me, and it did not benefit me at all, and the examination didn't help, doctor

Overall, a great experience!!
I was very skeptical doing this and especially in another country. The staff did a great job with getting everything lined up. Dr. Gurkan was great, all staff was very good and attentive. I would just ask for a little more information on the process and the timeline for treatments to work, etc. Overall, a great experience!!
Everything was ready when we got there. Great hotel. Staff was great.
Language barrier was a little difficult. I would have preferred one assistant the entire time and not so many. Little better communication and information beforehand as to process and procedures.
About Bookimed service
I never knew who I was communicating with. Change in pricing agreement was difficult. Had to pay extra for treatment and TDCS therapy which was agreed to in our original discussions.

FAQ about Stem cell therapy for psoriasis in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

How does stem cell therapy help with psoriasis?

Stem cell therapy treats psoriasis by rebalancing the immune system and repairing damaged skin. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) regulate overactive T-cells that drive inflammation. This process restores a healthy immune balance, reduces silvery scales, and can provide a remission window of 3 to 12 months.

  • Immune modulation: MSCs regulate Th17 and Th1 cells to stop systemic inflammation.
  • Cytokine reduction: Secreted anti-inflammatory molecules like IL-10 calm skin flare-ups.
  • Tissue repair: Growth factors encourage healthy skin regeneration and slow rapid cell turnover.
  • Arthritis relief: Intravenous delivery reduces joint pain and inflammation in psoriatic arthritis cases.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data suggests that while many seek treatment for chronic plaques, patients with erythrodermic psoriasis often see more dramatic initial results. Clinics like Memorial Göztepe Hospital utilize advanced diagnostics to track PASI scores. Experience counts here; choosing a dermatologist like Dr. Cuneyt Kara, who specializes specifically in chronic inflammatory skin diseases, ensures better protocol tailoring.

Patient Consensus: Patients often report noticeable skin improvement within 6 weeks, though some experience mild flu-like symptoms immediately after the infusion. While not a permanent cure, the significant reduction in plaque coverage offers a much-needed physical and emotional break from chronic symptoms.

Is stem cell therapy for psoriasis safe and legal in Turkey?

Stem cell therapy for psoriasis is legal in Turkey and strictly regulated by the Turkish Ministry of Health. Patients access these regenerative treatments through licensed facilities following international Good Manufacturing Practice standards. Success relies on specialized dermatologists using mesenchymal stem cells to target systemic inflammation and skin plaques.

  • Regulatory oversight: The Turkish Ministry of Health mandates strict clinical and ethical guidelines.
  • Facility standards: Most legitimate procedures occur in JCI-accredited hospitals or specialized regenerative centers.
  • Application methods: Clinics typically utilize intravenous infusions or localized exosome therapy for inflammation.
  • Laboratory quality: Specialized labs must maintain GMP certification for safe stem cell expansion.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many clinics market these services, the highest security for patients comes from choosing facilities like Memorial Göztepe Hospital. These large-scale centers integrate regenerative therapies with advanced diagnostic departments. Our data shows that top-tier Turkish specialists often combine stem cells with established biological protocols. This dual approach ensures better management of chronic inflammatory skin diseases than standalone cell therapy.

Patient Consensus: Many patients emphasize verifying a clinic's Ministry of Health license before arrival. Those with severe plaques report better satisfaction when comparing results to traditional biologics.

Which clinics in Turkey offer stem cell therapy for psoriasis?

Top Turkish medical networks including Memorial Health Group, Medical Park, and Liv Hospital offer advanced stem cell therapies for psoriasis. These facilities utilize mesenchymal stem cells and exosome applications within JCI-accredited environments to modulate immune responses and promote skin regeneration under specialized dermatological supervision.

  • Specialized specialists: Professor Cemal Firat at Medical Park Antalya focuses on regenerative reconstructive treatments.
  • Clinical expertise: Dr. Cuneyt Kara in Istanbul specializes in chronic inflammatory diseases and regenerative therapies.
  • Advanced facilities: Liv Hospital operates a dedicated regenerative medicine center for hospital-standard cell production.
  • Treatment availability: Major groups like Acibadem and Medicana provide personalized exosome and stem cell protocols.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many clinics market these therapies, the most reliable outcomes often come from university-affiliated hospitals. For instance, specialists like Dr. Cahit Kural at Lokman Hekim University integrate research-driven protocols that general aesthetic clinics may lack. Always prioritize centers with dedicated `Regenerative Medicine` units over those offering stem cells as a side service to hair transplants.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize the importance of getting all treatment protocols in writing before traveling. Many advise coordinating with a local dermatologist for post-treatment monitoring to manage any potential flares effectively.

How long until I see visible improvement and how durable are the results?

Visible improvement for psoriasis typically appears within 4 to 12 weeks following stem cell therapy in Turkey. While initial anti-inflammatory effects may occur by week 4, peak skin clearing and systemic results generally stabilize between 3 to 6 months after the procedure.

  • Initial response: Patients often report reduced inflammation and itching within 2 to 4 weeks post-treatment.
  • Visible clearing: Significant reduction in plaque size and redness typically occurs between 1 and 3 months.
  • Peak results: Maximum therapeutic benefits are usually reached 3 to 6 months after the initial infusion.
  • Result durability: Remission periods commonly range from 6 to 24 months depending on individual patient factors.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows that durability isn't just about the cells; it's about the source. Clinics like Memorial Göztepe Hospital use JCI-standard protocols where ex-vivo expanded mesenchymal cells often yield longer remission than basic infusions. Patients opting for these high-concentration protocols frequently extend their results beyond the 18-month mark.

Patient Consensus: Many patients emphasize that one session rarely provides permanent relief. They recommend documenting progress with weekly photos to track the gradual fading of plaques and suggest budgeting for maintenance boosters to prevent relapses.

Am I a good candidate for stem-cell therapy for psoriasis?

You may be a suitable candidate for stem cell therapy if you have severe plaque psoriasis covering over 10% of your body. Most eligible patients have not responded to conventional systemic treatments. Candidates must have stable organ function and no active infections or malignancies.

  • Treatment resistance: Candidates usually failed at least one biologic, methotrexate, or cyclosporine.
  • Severe involvement: Targeted for patients with high PASI scores or extensive body surface area.
  • Health status: Requires normal kidney and liver function plus clear cancer screenings.
  • Treatment type: Most Turkish clinics use mesenchymal stem cell infusions for immune modulation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data suggests patients often see better results by tapering methotrexate during stem cell cycles. Dr. Cuneyt Kara in Istanbul specifically focuses on these regenerative protocols for chronic inflammation. Choosing a clinic with JCI-level infrastructure, like Memorial Göztepe, ensures higher safety during experimental infusions.

Patient Consensus: Many find that while skin clears within months, results may be temporary. Patients recommend documenting monthly progress and confirming dermatologist oversight before starting any unregulated experimental protocol.

What is the treatment protocol and recovery period?

The standard treatment protocol for psoriasis involves a 3-5 day inpatient program focused on IV infusions of mesenchymal stem cells. Most patients experience a full recovery from initial fatigue within 1-2 weeks, while visible skin improvements typically manifest between 3 and 6 months post-treatment.

  • Treatment duration: Requires a 3-5 day inpatient stay for infusions.
  • Infusion method: Delivered via non-surgical IV infusion of mesenchymal stem cells.
  • Initial recovery: Fatigue and flu-like symptoms usually resolve within 7 days.
  • Long-term monitoring: Clinical skin response is assessed over a 6-month period.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Patients should verify that clinics provide mesenchymal stem cell viability tests before the infusion. Data shows that clinics like Memorial Göztepe Hospital utilize advanced diagnostics to ensure high cell quality. Combining these treatments with evidence-based dermatological care from specialists like Dr. Cuneyt Kara often yields more stable inflammatory responses.

Patient Consensus: Many patients suggest planning a 2-week buffer to manage initial fatigue and temporary flares. Success often depends on following an anti-inflammatory diet and tracking symptoms daily to catch early skin changes.

Do I need visas, medical reports or companion documentation for Turkey?

Turkey requires a valid passport and often an e-Visa for stem cell therapy for psoriasis. Depending on nationality, travelers may enter visa-free or apply online. Clinics typically require pre-treatment medical reports, including recent bloodwork and psoriasis history, sent 14 days before arrival.

  • Visa entry: US and European citizens often enjoy visa-free entry for up to 90 days.
  • Medical records: Clinics require detailed psoriasis history and imaging 1-2 weeks before the procedure starts.
  • Passport validity: Your travel document must remain valid for 6 months beyond the arrival date.
  • Companion rules: No formal permits are required for companions, but notarized consent helps for minors.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic entry is simple, successful stem cell protocols depend on specific data. Leading specialists like Dr. Cuneyt Kara require bloodwork and inflammation markers before you fly. Submitting these 14 days early prevents treatment delays at clinics like Memorial Göztepe Hospital.

Patient Consensus: Travelers recommend securing an e-Visa immediately after clinic confirmation to avoid last-minute stress. Patients suggest having a companion for the first 5 days to assist with mobility and prescriptions.

Is stem cell therapy for psoriasis in Turkey safe?

Stem cell therapy for psoriasis in Turkey is safe at accredited hospitals using clinical-grade labs. Leading facilities use mesenchymal stem cells processed under Good Manufacturing Practice standards. Specialists like Dr Cuneyt Kara focus on chronic inflammatory skin diseases for safety.

  • Accredited labs: Top centres use GMP-standard facilities for processing clinical-grade mesenchymal stem cells.
  • Expert specialists: Doctors such as Dr Cuneyt Kara have specialised training in chronic inflammatory dermatology.
  • Modern technology: Hospitals like Memorial Göztepe feature high-slice CT and AI-supported MRI for diagnostics.
  • Regulated procedures: Local anaesthesia and sedation help keep patients comfortable during minimally invasive injections.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many clinics offer regenerative medicine, safety depends on precise cell sourcing. Bookimed data shows that dermatology specialists like Dr Cuneyt Kara often achieve more targeted results. Patients should prioritise doctors with specific dermatology residencies rather than generic aesthetic backgrounds.

Patient Consensus: Psoriasis patients in Turkey suggest asking for evidence regarding mesenchymal cell sourcing and processing. They recommend securing a written aftercare plan and English medical records to share with GPs in Australia.

What are the potential side effects of stem cell treatment for psoriasis in Turkey?

Stem cell treatment for psoriasis in Turkey typically involves Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs). Common side effects include mild fever, headache, fatigue, and pain or swelling at the injection site. Serious risks like graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) are rare. These can occur if donor cells are used instead of a patient's own tissue.

  • Infusion reactions: Some patients report temporary fever, fatigue, or headache following the procedure.
  • Site discomfort: Pain, bruising, or swelling often occurs where cells are harvested or injected.
  • Immunity risks: Rare immune responses like GvHD can cause rashes, diarrhoea, or liver dysfunction.
  • Infection: Standard risks for any invasive injection require strict clinical sterility and hygiene protocols.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish dermatologists like Dr. Emine Demir or Dr. Cüneyt Kara often combine stem cell therapy with follow-up plans. Our data shows that 390 clinics in Turkey offer these regenerative treatments. Patients should confirm if the facility uses autologous (their own) cells to minimise immune rejection risks.

Patient Consensus: Psoriasis symptoms can sometimes flare up again after treatment concludes. Most patients report manageable short-term swelling and bruising at the injection sites.

Can stem cell therapy in Turkey cure psoriasis permanently?

Stem cell therapy in Turkey is not a permanent cure for psoriasis. However, it can provide long-lasting remission. Specialists like Dr Cüneyt Kara use regenerative therapies to reduce inflammation and skin plaques. Symptoms often improve significantly, but the underlying autoimmune condition remains. Any recurring symptoms are typically milder.

  • Remission duration: Benefits often last several years after intensive regenerative treatment cycles.
  • Clinical improvement: Many patients see 75% improvement in Psoriasis Area Severity Index scores.
  • Therapy types: Centres use mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to regulate immune system responses.
  • Safety standards: Specialists like Dr Mehmet Asil Onay operate in JCI-accredited surgical theatres.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish clinics integrate stem cell labs directly into multidisciplinary hospitals. At Memorial Göztepe Hospital, dermatologists collaborate with research units to access the latest protocols. This environment allows doctors to refine dosages. They often achieve better remission rates than smaller, stand-alone clinics.

Patient Consensus: Most patients in Turkey notice temporary or partial clearing of plaques. They suggest checking if the protocol uses your own cells or donor cells. You should also plan for ongoing local dermatology care after returning home.

How does stem cell therapy work to treat psoriasis in Turkey?

Stem cell therapy in Turkey treats psoriasis by using Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) to regulate the immune system. These cells target inflammation and repair skin tissue. This reduces the overproduction of skin cells. Specialists at centres like Memorial Göztepe Hospital use this approach instead of topical creams.

  • Immune modulation: MSCs calm the overactive immune response responsible for chronic psoriasis plaques.
  • Tissue repair: Stem cells naturally travel to inflamed areas to repair damaged skin layers.
  • Specialised techniques: Specialists such as Dr Mehmet Asil Onay apply regenerative therapies in JCI-standard facilities.
  • Treatment cycles: Patients typically undergo 4–6 sessions every 7–10 days for results.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish centres often integrate regenerative therapies into holistic dermatology protocols. They rarely offer them as standalone fixes. Clinics like Istanbul Care Clinic combine stem cell sessions with specialised follow-up care. This comprehensive approach helps Turkey manage 3,000+ patient requests for these treatments annually.

Does stem cell therapy in Turkey also treat Psoriatic Arthritis?

Specialists in Turkey treat psoriatic arthritis using mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy alongside skin protocols. Clinics use autologous fat-derived or umbilical cord MSCs to reduce joint inflammation. These cells also help regulate immune responses. Treatments often combine intravenous drips with direct injections into the affected joints.

  • Treatment targets: Aims to lower systemic inflammation while repairing damaged joint tissues.
  • Diverse sources: Uses patient-derived fat cells or donor umbilical cord tissue MSCs.
  • Specialist involvement: Dermatologists like Dr Cuneyt Kara focus on systemic inflammatory skin diseases.
  • Integrated care: Leading facilities such as Memorial Göztepe Hospital provide clinical research access.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics market stem cell therapy primarily for skin psoriasis. However, Turkey has the highest global patient volume for these regenerative cases. Data shows that centres with on-site clinical research units often have more experience. This is especially true for complex autoimmune joint issues compared to aesthetic-focused clinics.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey report significant improvements in skin plaques. However, they often have to ask for a rheumatologist to assess joint symptoms. Joint pain and stiffness are handled as separate concerns. Patients should confirm a joint-specific protocol before booking.

What is the expected timeline for seeing results from stem cell treatment for psoriasis in Turkey?

Patients typically observe initial changes in psoriasis symptoms within a few weeks to 3 months following stem cell therapy in Turkey. Skin clearance and immune modulation often peak between 3 and 6 months. Tissue regeneration and healing benefits can then continue for over a year.

  • Early improvements: Reductions in itching and inflammation usually occur within the first 1–3 months.
  • Peak visible results: Maximum plaque clearance and skin smoothing typically appear 3–6 months post-treatment.
  • Extended progress: Regenerative effects can strengthen and continue improving skin health for 12+ months.
  • Long-term approach: This therapy addresses underlying causes rather than providing an instant symptomatic fix.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish dermatology clinics often integrate specialised diagnostics with stem cell protocols to track response. Specialists like Dr Cuneyt Kara focus on chronic inflammatory skin diseases to help results persist. Choosing a centre with focused dermatology experience helps set realistic benchmarks for a 3-month follow-up assessment.

Patient Consensus: Many patients notice less itching and fewer new flares before visible plaques clear. Real results often manifest after returning home. Skin improvements in Turkey frequently lag behind initial symptom relief.

Where in Turkey can I find specialised centres for stem cell treatment for psoriasis?

Specialised centres in Istanbul and Antalya offer stem cell therapy for psoriasis. These facilities, including Memorial Göztepe Hospital and Istanbul Care Clinic, use mesenchymal stem cells and regenerative protocols. Specialists like Dr Emine Demir and Dr Cüneyt Kara oversee these treatments alongside multidisciplinary teams.

  • Specialist expertise: Dr Emine Demir at Istanbul Care Clinic has 28+ years of dermatology experience.
  • Clinical facilities: Memorial Göztepe Hospital provides 81,000 m² of hospital-grade safety and research units.
  • Regulatory standards: Dr Mehmet Asil Onay performs regenerative procedures in JCI-standard theatres.
  • Cost structure: Treatment typically ranges from $4,500 to $7,500 for eligible patients.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many regenerative clinics exist in Turkey. However, the most reliable outcomes often come from specialists with a background in clinical dermatology. Dr Cüneyt Kara completed a dermatology residency at Sultan Abdulhamid Han Hospital. He focuses specifically on chronic inflammatory skin diseases. Choosing a dermatologist-led centre ensures your stem cell protocol aligns with standard medical psoriasis management.

Patient Consensus: Patients recommend verifying that a qualified dermatologist or immunologist leads the medical team in Turkey. It is helpful to request a written protocol detailing the cell source and the number of sessions planned.
