Assoc. Dr. Ali DURMUŞ was born in the Fevzipaşa township of İslahiye, Gaziantep. Because his father worked at Tekel, he started his education at Malatya Derme Primary School and completed it at Adıyaman Atatürk Primary School. When his father was appointed to Amasya Taşova district, he attended secondary school at Taşova Atatürk Secondary School. He finished high school at Gaziantep Kilis High School, ranking 3rd.

Since his uncle was in Çanakkale, he chose Çanakkale Education Institute as a university. Assoc. Prof. Dr. is a teacher. Ali Durmuş was appointed to Yukarı Tutak village in Ağrı's Diyadin district within the scope of compulsory service. After working as a teacher for a period, he took the university exam again.

He was accepted to Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine, one of the two medical faculties that taught in English at that time. He completed one year of English preparation and 6 years of medical education without any loss. He was a member of the ski team and basketball team at the university, and also managed social events such as the annual medical ball.

He was assigned to Iskenderun State Hospital in compulsory service. Assoc. Prof. Dr., who served as the emergency manager. Ali Durmuş passed the General Surgery Department of Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital in the Medical Specialization Exam. Assoc. Prof. Dr. completed his specialization and became a specialist. Due to his success in his compulsory service, Ali Durmuş was appointed as assistant chief physician to the Oncology department at Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital.

Later, he was appointed as a training officer in the Department of General Surgery and Gastroenterology. He helped develop laparoscopic stomach and intestinal surgeries (sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, reflux, colon cancer, stomach cancer, etc.) in Turkey. Between 2002 and 2015, he trained dozens of assistants and helped them become general surgeons.

In 2015, he left his job in Okmeydanı and worked as Assistant Professor. He started working as a faculty member at Nişantaşı University.

After completing his high school education  at Bahçelievler Super High School in 2000  , he won the Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty in the same year.

Between 2000 and 2006 , he completed his Medical Education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine.

As of 2007  , he started his General Surgery Specialization in Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty 'General Surgery Department'.

In 2009  , he took part in the Private Metabolic Surgery Clinic in Istanbul German hospital and took part in the Laparoscopic Metabolic Surgery (surgical treatment of Type 2 Diabetes) surgery, which was performed for the first time in Turkey.

In 2011  , he received 'Metabolic Surgery' training at the Taksim German Hospital Metabolic Surgery Unit under Universal Hospitals. He completed his General Surgery residency in 2012.

Between 2012 and 2014 , he worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Istanbul Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital.

Between 2014 and 2017 , he worked at the Metabolic Surgery Clinic in Şişli, Istanbul.

He started to work as a lecturer at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2015 and received the title of Assistant Professor in 2016.

Between 2009 and 2017 , he took part in more than 1000 Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Operations.

Between 2017 and 2018 , he worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Private Gebze Konak Hospital in Kocaeli.

Between  2018 and 2019  , he worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Medical Park Bahçelievler Hospital in Istanbul  .

Dr. Instructor Member Fatih Can Karaca   left his duty at Medical Park Bahçelievler Hospital as  of February 2019 and started to work as a General Surgery Specialist to perform Obesity and Metabolic Surgery surgeries at Istanbul Surgery Hospital located in Istanbul .

He opened his private clinic at Fulya Unimed Center between 2019-2020.

He received the title of Associate Professor in June 2021 .

As a General Surgery Specialist, he worked at Zonguldak Atatürk State Hospital for 5 years and at Sancaktepe Şehit Prof. Dr. İlhan Varank Training and Research Hospital for 3 years. 

Worked as an Assistant Professor at Istanbul Medipol University, Department of General Surgery. Currently working at Medipol University Pendik Hospital. 

He specialized in General Surgery at Ankara Training and Research Hospital between 2001 and 2006. He worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Ankara Training and Research Hospital between 2006 and 2008 and later at Ordu State Hospital between 2008 and 2013. In 2016, he received the title of Associate Professor in the Department of General Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Izmir University. In 2015, he received the Turkish Surgical Association Proficiency Exam (Board) Certificate of Achievement. After completing his medical education in 2009, he has 12 years of general surgery experience and is an expert in Laparoscopic surgeries. Many surgeries can be performed with the Laparoscopic system, which is popularly known as the closed system. He has the most experience in Bariatric and Metabolic surgery.. In the field of obesity and diabetes, which can now be treated with surgery, such as Sleeve Gastrektomi(Tube stomach), Gastric By-Pass, Mini Gastric By-Pass(Diabetes surgery)  , he performs successfully. Endoscopic Botox treatment and gastric balloon are applied in patients who are not suitable for surgery..
