I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue
I had a really great experience with my doctor and care here. I wanted a very natural looking nose, not to look "doll-like" or like I had a rhinoplasty. Same for lip filler. I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue. I believe it required different degrees of cutting for each nostril so I'm very impressed that the end result's symmetry appears less than 1mm different from one another, that's a huge improvement from before. The shape is really nice and I was impressed that after surgery the packing was done in such a way that I was able to breathe through my nose the whole time, even during my recovery.

Hospital fine, clean decent staff Got gynecomastia surgery, emintha into healing moderately okay results, had maybe grade one maybe grade 2 gyno, got glands removed as I was very lean, Surgeon made long incisions, along my chest, have two ling 3 Inch scars on either side of my nipples on both side of my chest Fland wasn't fully removed on my left side so have recurring gyno, Need steriod injection to help with scaring, surgeon isn't competent enough to go through the nipples to leave no scarring, Pictures they send of before and after are a lie, Probably look worse than before cant take my top off after, The response to this was get laser treatment or steriod injections Sub par save your money go somewhere else Probably the same for most procedures they do

Terrible surgeon. Will not take the time to speak with you, when he does he knows limited English and is very very rushed. The first time me he gave me results that were so drastic I looked like a pig or someone from who-ville. I had to pay for a second surgery for him to give me my old nose but even worse! (Again super rushed, had zero time to make a decision). Absolutely awful experience. Scary. He refused to even try to fix my nose now for another 6 months. Even though I offered to pay again. Have to date and see friends humiliated with a half finished face. Go to someone with talent and who actually cares. He doesn’t. You are just a number to the surgeons there.

I would recommend this clinic to anyone looking at coming to Tijuana for medical care ❤️
From the moment I started this process with Laura, everything was seamless. All my questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. Any apprehensions I had about seeking care in a different country were not ignored. As I had questions about my surgery, I was able to talk with my surgeon to clarify which surgery would be best for the outcome I hoped for. I flew into San Diego and was met by Laura (transportation)who kept in contact throughout my stay and was wonderful! The clinic staff were kind, welcoming and professional. I am horrible with names otherwise I would give individual shout outs to each of them!! Laura Rodriguez ensured that everything went smoothly throughout my stay and answered all my question, made sure I always felt safe. My anesthesiologist listened to my concerns about problems with prior general anesthesia and came up with a solution to meet my needs. I believe my initial recovery went so much better due to this. I can’t say enough wonderful things about my surgeon! He listened to what my hopes for the outcome of my surgery were and absolutely exceeded all of my hopes! Thank you Dr Marquez, you are truly an artist! The hotel we stayed at prior to my surgery was beautiful, and the recovery suite provided amazing care! I would recommend this clinic to anyone looking at coming to Tijuana for medical care ❤️

FAQ about treatment in Mexico

What is plastic surgery?

Plastic surgery is a medical specialty that involves the reconstruction or alteration of body parts. It can be both reconstructive, aiming to restore the function of a body part that may have been damaged due to trauma, disease or congenital conditions, and cosmetic, focusing on enhancing the appearance of a body part for aesthetic reasons.

Some common plastic surgery procedures include breast augmentation, rhinoplasty (nose job), facelift, tummy tuck, liposuction, and Botox injections. Plastic surgery has become increasingly popular worldwide, particularly in developed countries, as an option to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing or youthful appearance. However, like any surgical procedure, plastic surgery also comes with potential risks and complications that must be weighed against the perceived benefits.

What are the Techniques and Types of Plastic Surgery?

Techniques or Types Description
Rhinoplasty A nose job that can alter the shape and size of the nose to improve breathing or appearance.
Breast augmentation A surgical procedure to increase the size and improve the shape of the breasts with implants.
Facelift A procedure to tighten and lift the skin on the face to reduce wrinkles and give a more youthful appearance.
Liposuction A type of cosmetic surgery that removes fat from specific areas of the body using a suction technique.
Tummy tuck A surgery that removes excess fat and skin from the abdomen and tightens the muscles to create a flatter and firmer stomach.
Botox An injectable treatment that temporarily paralyzes wrinkle-causing muscles to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Facial implants A procedure that enhances or restores facial contours by placing implants in the cheek, chin, or jawline.
Brow lift A surgery that reduces sagging skin and wrinkles on the forehead, giving a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

What are some alternative treatments to plastic surgery?

  • Laser treatments: Laser therapy can help treat wrinkles, sunspots, and other skin conditions. It can also be used to permanently remove unwanted hair.
  • Botox: Botox is a popular non-surgical treatment that involves injections of a substance that temporarily paralyzes muscles, reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
  • Dermal fillers: Dermal fillers are injections of a gel-like substance that restore volume and fullness in the face, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Chemical peels: A chemical peel involves applying a chemical solution to the skin to remove the top layer, revealing smoother, younger-looking skin.
  • Microdermabrasion: Microdermabrasion involves using a machine to exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells and stimulating the growth of new skin cells.
  • Acupuncture: Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medical technique that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to help relieve pain and treat various conditions.
  • Herbal remedies: There are a variety of herbal remedies that can be used to treat certain skin conditions, such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis.

Who are the Best Candidates for Plastic Surgery in Mexico?

Plastic surgery in Mexico is a popular choice for people who want to enhance their physical appearance. The best candidates for plastic surgery in Mexico are individuals who are in good overall health and have realistic expectations about the results of the procedure. This could include people who have lost a significant amount of weight and want to remove excess skin or those who want to address signs of aging.

Additionally, individuals who are looking to correct a specific physical feature or deformity may also be good candidates for plastic surgery in Mexico. It is important for candidates to have a thorough consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon in Mexico to discuss their goals and expectations for the procedure, as well as any potential risks or complications that may arise. Overall, the ideal candidate for plastic surgery in Mexico is someone who is mentally and physically prepared for the procedure, and has a clear idea of the desired outcome.

How many visits are needed for plastic surgery?

The number of visits required for plastic surgery varies depending on the type of procedure you are considering. Some minimally invasive procedures can be completed in a single visit, while more extensive surgeries may require multiple visits over several months.

During your initial consultation, your plastic surgeon will evaluate your specific needs and goals and create a treatment plan that outlines the estimated number of visits required. They will also provide you with detailed information on what to expect during each visit and any necessary preparation or recovery instructions.

It is important to follow your plastic surgeon's recommendations and attend all scheduled visits to ensure the best possible outcome for your procedure. Missing appointments or not following post-operative instructions can result in complications or suboptimal results.

Things to Know Before Plastic Surgery in Mexico

Plastic surgery in Mexico can be an affordable option for those looking to improve their appearance. However, before you decide to undergo a procedure, there are a few things that you should know. Firstly, it is important to research the surgeon and the clinic where you plan to have the surgery. Make sure that the surgeon is board-certified and has a good track record of successful surgeries.

Another important thing to consider is the language barrier, especially if you do not speak Spanish. Make sure that you have a translator or that the clinic has English-speaking staff who can communicate with you effectively. Additionally, make sure that you understand the potential risks and complications associated with the procedure you are planning to have.

You should also plan for your aftercare. You will need to take time off work and plan for a recovery period of a few days to a week. Make sure that you have someone who can assist you during this time, especially if you are traveling alone. Lastly, make sure that you have all the necessary documents, such as your passport and medical history, in order before you travel to Mexico for your surgery.

What should be taken after plastic surgery?

After undergoing plastic surgery, it is essential to follow post-operative instructions to ensure a safe and speedy recovery. The following are some measures that should be taken after plastic surgery:

Rest: Resting is crucial after plastic surgery to avoid putting unnecessary pressure on the wound. It would be best to take a few days off from work to recover fully.

Medications: Prescribed medications must be taken on time to help manage postoperative pain, swelling, and infections. Antibiotics may be prescribed to prevent infections, and painkillers may be given to manage the pain during the recovery period.

Follow-up appointments: Regular follow-ups with the plastic surgeon are essential to monitor the progress of the healing process. Typically, the first follow-up occurs a week after the surgery to check the stitches and dressings. Subsequent follow-ups may be scheduled as needed.

Healthy lifestyle: Eating healthy and staying hydrated can help in a speedy recovery. It is also essential to avoid smoking and alcohol, as these can slow the healing process and increase the risk of complications. Finally, staying calm and positive can speed up the healing process and help maintain excellent health overall.

How long is the plastic surgery recovery process?

The length of the plastic surgery recovery process varies depending on the individual and the type of procedure performed. Some plastic surgeries may have shorter recovery periods, while others may require several months for complete healing. It is important for patients to follow their surgeon's post-operative instructions to aid in the healing process and minimize the risk of complications.

In general, patients can expect to experience some discomfort, swelling, and bruising immediately following their plastic surgery procedure. This may last for a few days to a few weeks, depending on the extent of the surgery. It is important for patients to avoid strenuous activity during this time and to strictly adhere to any restrictions given by their surgeon. The full recovery process can take several months, during which patients may experience residual swelling and minor discomfort.

What are the risks and complications of plastic surgery in Mexico?

Plastic surgery has become a popular medical procedure worldwide, attracting people from all walks of life. Mexico is one of the popular destinations for people seeking affordable plastic surgery, with the country's proximity to the United States and low cost of medical procedures drawing many American patients. However, undergoing plastic surgery in Mexico does come with its risks and complications.

Patients should be aware that not all surgical practices in Mexico are regulated as strictly as in the United States. There is a risk of encountering unlicensed and unqualified practitioners who may perform procedures without proper knowledge or training. In addition, the country's healthcare system may not offer the same level of aftercare and follow-up treatment as patients would receive in the U.S. which can lead to infections and other complications. Finally, the process of obtaining a medical license in Mexico can be less stringent, which potentially increases the risk of medical malpractice.

In summary, plastic surgery in Mexico can offer some significant savings. However, patients should research the surgical practices they intend to use thoroughly. Patients must ensure that the facilities and practitioners are licensed and certified, and that they are prepared for follow-up care upon returning home. Adhering to these guidelines can reduce the risks and increase the chances of a successful procedure.
