How Much Does Dental treatment with sedation Cost in Istanbul?

Dental treatment with sedation in Istanbul typically costs from $700 to $1,400. Total costs depend on the sedation type, procedure duration, and whether services are bundled into international patient packages. Patients save around 70% compared to the US, where this procedure costs $2,000 on average. Most Istanbul clinics include panoramic X-rays, local anesthesia, and medical consultations in the base price.

  • Treatment of caries: $100 to $200, includes removal of decay and specialized restorative work.
  • Composite filling: $100 to $200 for restoration using tooth-colored resins.
  • Curettage: $500 to $1,000 for deep cleaning of the gums under sedation.
  • Sedation types: Intravenous methods typically add a premium of 20-30% compared to oral or nitrous oxide options.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Istanbul serves as Turkey's primary hub for complex dentistry under anesthesia. Many clinics, such as Hospitadent Dental Group, are Straumann official providers and hold TEMOS international accreditation. High-volume centers often maintain in-house laboratories, which significantly reduces wait times for custom prosthetics. For example, YEG Clinic uses on-site labs to finish smile designs within four days, including sedation time.

Thank you very much for the care
If you're looking into getting teeth extracted, I can share my recent experience. I had five teeth removed using only local anesthesia, and it went smoothly. The clinic was great. I felt the doctor was a true professional with a lot of experience, and the entire staff was very nice and friendly. Thank you very much for the care. I would return next time with pleasure and completely without stress. It was also reassuring that there were no additional expenses beyond the price I paid to the clinic. My main advice would be, first and foremost, don't be afraid. I genuinely didn't feel any pain during the procedure.
Super klinika. Doktor profesjonalista z dużym doświadczeniem. Cała obsługa bardzo miła i sympatyczna. Dziękuję bardzo za opiekę. Na drugi raz przyjadę z przyjemnością i całkowicie bez stresu.

It felt like Dr
What stood out was the surgeon's personal attention. He personally checked on me after surgery. Beforehand, Dr. Yaman explained his deep plane technique very clearly for my facelift, which also included my upper and lower eyes, brows, and a lip lift. This personal touch was part of the overall atmosphere. Every thing had a positive vibe; everyone was professional and warm, and the facilities and transportation were exceptional. It felt like Dr. Yaman really cared for you as a person. My recovery is progressing about as expected. I received a clear aftercare guide and had no additional expenses. For me, a little more language support could be useful, but it didn't hinder the process.

The clinic provided excellent support after the procedure: they were always available and gave me clear aftercare instructions
It was very important to me that the surgeon personally carried out the placement of my seven-plus implants. Everything went according to plan. I’m currently in the early stages of recovery, and I’m feeling exactly as I expected, with no surprises. The clinic provided excellent support after the procedure: they were always available and gave me clear aftercare instructions. The doctor also gave me a clear timeline for the fitting of the crowns and, importantly, there were no additional costs.
Everything was very well organised: the hotel, the airport pick-up, and the taxi arrangements for the journey to the clinic and back to the hotel.
Personally, I was very pleased with everything, including the way the clinic was run

FAQ about treatment in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is dental treatment with sedation safe in Istanbul?

Dental treatment with sedation in Istanbul is very safe at accredited clinics like JCI-certified Memorial Bahcelievler. Safety comes from board-certified anesthesiologists and modern monitoring equipment. Clinics also need International Health Tourism Authorization from the Turkish Ministry of Health.

  • Anesthesia staff: Dedicated anesthesiologists must manage sedation independently from the dentist.
  • Clinical standards: Deep sedation requires surgical suites equipped with emergency resuscitation tools.
  • Accreditation: Top clinics hold TEMOS, JCI, or ISO certifications for safety.
  • Equipment: Quality centers use pulse oximetry and oxygen monitoring for all cases.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows a major safety gap between small studios and large hospital-based groups. Boutique clinics are popular. However, hospital settings like Hisar Intercontinental manage over 250,000 patients a year. These hospitals have dedicated anesthesia departments. This infrastructure significantly lowers risks during complex full-mouth restorations compared to standalone offices.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize that professional clinics make the process smooth, but warn against rushed timelines. Patients recommend bringing a home treatment plan. This helps make sure local clinics do not suggest unnecessary procedures while you are sedated.

Do I need someone to accompany me after dental treatment with sedation in Istanbul?

Patients who have dental treatment with moderate sedation or general anesthesia in Istanbul must bring a responsible adult companion. Clinics may offer VIP transfers, but you still need someone to help you through discharge and watch over you at your hotel for 24 hours.

  • Escort requirement: You cannot leave the clinic alone after IV or oral sedation.
  • Transportation safety: Driving, public transit, or solo taxi travel is strictly forbidden after sedation.
  • Observation window: An adult should stay with you for 24 hours to check your coordination.
  • Legal restrictions: Do not sign documents or make financial decisions until the sedative effects wear off completely.
  • Nitrous oxide exception: Patients who receive only laughing gas may be cleared for solo travel sooner.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Centers like Tower Dental Clinic in Istanbul may include hotel transfers, but the drivers are not medical chaperones. Bookimed data shows that clinics treating more than 6,000 international patients a year stress something important: a personal companion is essential. They help you handle hotel check-ins and stick to medication schedules while your thinking is still clouded.

Patient Consensus: Patients often say they feel hazy or off-balance. They describe the post-sedation state a lot like being drunk. Most advise against sightseeing or walking through Istanbul alone until the next morning so you stay completely safe.

What is sedation dentistry and how does it work in Istanbul?

Sedation dentistry in Istanbul uses medication to help patients relax. This reduces anxiety during dental procedures. Techniques range from mild oral sedatives to intravenous twilight sleep. Anesthesiologists in accredited clinics typically manage the sedation. This keeps patients safe during complex procedures and helps those with dental phobia.

  • Sedation levels: Options include nitrous oxide, oral benzodiazepines, intravenous sedation, or hospital-based general anesthesia.
  • Safety protocols: Certified anesthesiologists monitor vitals during deep sedation. This takes place in JCI-accredited or ISO-certified facilities.
  • Efficiency advantage: Clinicians use sedation to complete multi-stage treatments like All-on-4 implants in one session.
  • Recovery logistics: Most packages include private VIP transfers to hotels. Patients cannot drive after sedation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Istanbul clinics like Hospitadent often use sedation. It condenses weeks of work into a single visit. Sedation prices range from $700 to $1,400. However, the real value is clinical efficiency. High-volume centers often have specialized recovery suites that standard clinics lack.

Patient Consensus: Patients frequently describe drifting off quickly. They wake up with little to no memory of the procedure. The most common feedback highlights feeling pressure rather than pain. However, post-operative grogginess for several hours is expected.
