I decided to have a facelift and fat transfer with Dr. Safa Manav in Istanbul. I am a patient who previously underwent liposuction, lip lift, and thread procedures in another clinic in Istanbul, so I was very interested in making a comparison. I won’t name the other clinic, but I can say Dr. Manav is a cut above. It's only four days post-op, but I am impressed with everyone I have interacted with. Delf, who works with the "What to do?" app while you're in your home country, keeps you clearly and promptly informed of what's happening. Upon arrival, a driver picked me up; the car was equipped with a TV, WiFi, water, and a very polite driver. Then, I met Elif (full name Elif Bilge Yavuz), who is your coordinator. She speaks English fluently and understands everything perfectly, is smart and empathetic, and I can completely understand why Dr. Manav brought her with him when setting up his clinic. This woman is a powerhouse. You feel fully secure in her hands as she conducts heart and blood tests on the first day to determine if you are fit for surgery. During the consultation, I tested Dr. Safa Manav by asking about additional procedures which I was not really interested in and knew I did not need. I wanted to see if the clinic was only after money. He immediately advised me not to do those procedures, stating they were unnecessary and I did not need them. Moreover, he advised me not to undergo any procedure at all, as he did not see that I would ever require one. This completely convinced me that the clinic's priorities are patient-centered, not driven by their bank balance. I also wanted the doctor to ensure I looked natural, as I do not like overly large lips or an excessively small nose, and I saw he really strives to maintain naturalness. This was also very important to me. Though, of course, I understand some patients like a more artificial appearance. In the consultation, he was clear and comprehensible. I also considered hiring him to remove my old implants at a later stage, so we discussed this as well. The morning of my operation, I was told I was the only person he was operating on, which was also very reassuring. He came twice to check on me and assured me. The hospital is impeccable. It's like a five-star hotel. I had a private room with an en-suite bathroom and my own nurse from Dr. Manav, alongside the hospital's nurses who took care of me. When I pressed the button, they came immediately. They constantly monitored me for 24 hours while I was in the hospital. Even without needing medication, they still came to check on me punctually. I experienced slight swelling and mild pain, but I believe every patient is unique. By the evening of the surgery day, I was already walking the corridors unaided and even managed to watch a movie, which was entirely unexpected. But, of course, I wouldn't claim that your experience will be the same, as everyone heals differently. I am now back at the Antwell hotel. Elif or her friend Busa visit me daily. They take photos to send to the doctor and check the bandages. They ensure I haven’t forgotten to take my daily medications. They repeatedly check in to ask if I’ve eaten something or taken a walk. The hotel is an apartment-hotel. I even have a washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher. The hotel's cleanliness is impeccable, and there are nurses in the building, with emergency buttons in every room. There's a Smart TV and adjustable heating. The hotel features restaurants, a pool, a spa, a library, a cinema, a rooftop terrace, and even an arts and crafts room. The staff is amazing. My speaker charging cable broke, and the concierge went out to get a new one for me within an hour because I didn’t feel strong enough to walk outside. Most guests here are patients, so you meet people in the corridors, elevators, and café, but privacy is also respected if you prefer it. There is a large shopping mall called Emaar Mall a five-minute walk away. It’s a great shopping center. Two days after my surgery, I felt well enough to stroll around it alone for three hours. There are also several cafés nearby the hotel. I haven’t even seen the operation results yet because I'm still bandaged. However, from a professional perspective, regarding the team, cleanliness, performance, staff behavior, accommodation, and transportation, honestly, I can't fault it. And I can compare because I’ve been here before and had surgeries in Istanbul. This experience greatly surpasses my previous one. And that previous experience was not bad at all. I also want to say the hospital staff was amazing. I live abroad and, in my 53 years, have encountered hospital staff in many countries. It seems the staff here genuinely enjoy their work and truly care. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen this in the UK, NHS, India, Cambodia, or Spain. In a world where so many people are chasing fame and wealth online and are no longer interested in regular jobs, it was refreshing to see people in their 20s working in the care service industry, working hard and long, enjoying it, and doing a fantastic job. I couldn't be more grateful to witness this. They all deserve awards and far more recognition than they receive. Once I recover, I will write another review dedicated to the results of the surgery itself. I have not been paid to write this review. I do not know anyone from Dr. Manav’s clinic staff. This is an honest review of my personal experience.
